Nashville-based tea company Firepot Nomadic Teas has announced plans to open Firepot Tea Bar in the 12South area of Nashville next year. Projected for a Summer 2017 opening, the company’s first brick-and-mortar concept will be led by founder Sarah Scarborough. The concept will feature high quality, direct-sourced teas carefully curated by the Nashville native and tea connoisseur.
“I am excited to bring something I’m passionate about to the Nashville community,” says Scarborough. “Teaching people about tea is something that gives me a lot of joy and I’m looking forward to sharing my knowledge and experiences with our customers. One of our goals at Firepot is to make high grade tea accessible and approachable, and this tea bar will help us welcome a new audience.”
Tea-lovers can expect an unforgettable experience at Firepot Tea Bar, which will be located at 2905 12th Ave S. The seasonal menu will include traditional teas, made-to-order hand-crafted artisinal tea drinks created by Scarborough as well as a number of seasonal teas offered on tap. Drinks will be made to grab and go, and there will be limited seating in the shop for guests to sit and enjoy their tea, if desired.
The tea bar will emulate the philosopies of Firepot Nomadic Teas with a focus not only on the quality of its product, but also the stories and quality of lives of those growers, harvesters and tea masters with whom it works so closely. Scarborough travels the globe frequently in order to find the highest quality ingredients for Firepot teas, and will do the same for teas offered at the flagship tea bar location. Firepot continues to be a passionate supporter of organic and ethical trade practices, and donates a portion of its sales to the empowerment of women and preservation of wildlife in tea origins.
“The quality of product will be held to a very high standard, and we want to offer our patrons only the best,” says Scarborough. “Firepot has always focused on providing teas that are well-sourced from communities that support ethical trading practices.”
In addition to its made-to-order drinks, Firepot Tea Bar will include a retail component that plans to offer loose leaf teas, matcha, chai and curated tea pots and tea ware for sale. Scarborough plans to work with local creative Handy Dandy Productions to develop and construct the tea bar’s aesthetic.
For a preview of the concept, Firepot will have a pop-up at this weekend’s Porter Flea Holiday Market on Friday, December 9, through Sunday, December 11, where there will be tea drinks and blended teas avaialable for purchase.
