Show Review: An Evening With Kings Of Leon, New Album ‘Walls’ Release On Oct. 14th

Kings of LeonIn a special preview show in advance of the release of their new album entitled ‘Walls’, rock group Kings of Leon performed to a sold out crowd at Ascend Amphitheater on Thursday, Oct. 6th in Nashville.

Now on their 7th album, the Nashville-based rock band delivered a show filled with guitar-driven rock tunes and well-crafted songs skillfully played.  Recapturing their sound from their past that first drew in audiences worldwide 8 years ago with some experimentation, they played their new album all the way through during the first half of the concert to the receptive crowd.  The second half of the show featured hits from their previous albums that the fans have already come to love.

I personally loved the whole feel of the show.  It was all done very tastefully with a stage that had constantly changing background images to capture the imagination, great lighting to set the mood, and the whole sound production was superb.  The only thing I would have liked to see more of is more interaction with the audience.  It felt more like I was peering in on a studio session with the band focused on the creation of the music, which is still cool no matter what.  Aside from wishing for more interaction to really see their personalities, the live show was definitely something that I would want to see again.

My personal favorite song from the night and off the new album was/is “Waste A Moment”.   Watch the video of it below.

The new album ‘Walls’ is in stores and available for purchase on iTunes on October 14th.

Catch Kings of Leon live when they come to a city near you!

Rated 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.
