The 2nd Annual Peacock Invitational Golf Tournament in memory of Ryan Huie has been set for Monday, October 24, 2016 at Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, TN. Funds raised through the tourney benefit Ryan’s Guitars Project, which provides quality guitars and music instructors to poor and refugee children throughout the Middle East.
Ryan Huie, the late beloved son of CAA co-head John Huie and his wife Dawn, spent his life encouraging others to find their passions and build their lives around music – to allow them to be more of who they were made to be. His friends said he often referred to a “reverse peacock” in describing the humility he encouraged in his clients. Ironically, peacocks are symbols of immortality and resurrection in the Middle East among both Christians and Muslims.
Ryan’s Guitars Project provides guitars and music instruction to aid as many dispossessed children (either refugees or simply poor) as possible. By teaching children to express themselves through music, a cycle of violence contributing to global security can begin to be broken.
The Peacock Invitational is $1600.00 per foursome and includes lunch on the course. Check-in is 8:30am and teams will tee off at 10:00am. For sponsorship opportunities or to register a team to play, contact Dan Harrell, dan.harrell49@gmail.com or 615-347-5565.
Ryan’s Guitar’s Project is a work of St. Paul’s Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity. For more information, visit www.guitarsproject.org.
