RCA Nashville hitmaker Chris Young follows the three-week #1 success of his RIAA Gold-certified smash, “I’m Comin’ Over,” with the release of “Think of You,” a duet with award-winning Republic Nashville rising star and The Voice winner, Cassadee Pope. Featured on his chart-topping I’m Comin’ Over album, “Think of You” was co-written by Young, Corey Crowder, and Josh Hoge and is available at Country radio today for an official airplay impact date of January 25.
About “Think of You,” Young remarks, “I love having Cassadee Pope on this song. I think she is a phenomenal singer and is the exact, perfect way to complete that song the way I wanted. It’s one of my favorite tracks on the record.”
Recalling how the duet came to be recorded, Young shares, “I was playing an acoustic show with Cassadee, and she started her first song, and the minute she opened her mouth, it clicked. We were right in the beginning stages of ‘who do we get to do this?’ and I said, ‘I’m asking her right when I get off this stage.’ She’s awesome, and I’m so glad she said ‘yes’ because she was my first choice, and I think people are going to be really into this song.”
“Knowing that we’ll get to perform ’Think of You’ together for all of our fans definitely builds another layer of excitement to heading out on tour with Chris,” adds Pope.
Certain to be a highlight of Young’s 2016 I’M COMIN’ OVER TOUR – which welcomes Pope as a special guest – “Think of You” has already been attracting media acclaim.
Rolling Stone Country writes, “[Young] shines brightest when he speaks from the heart, as he does on ‘Think of You’… a striking, clear-eyed duet sung from the other side of a breakup,” while Sounds Like Nashville notes that Young and Pope’s “voices meld effortlessly.”
In a “Critic’s Pick” review, Taste of Country says, “‘Think of You’ leaves plenty of room for [Young and Pope] to soar to new heights,” hailing the chorus as “relatable, memorable and unforgettable.”
“Think of You” “feels timeless in each aspect,” cheers Roughstock, “from the vocals of the duet partners to the production to the lyrics.”
