Show Review: Lara Johnston At ACME Feed & Seed

image

On Wednesday, October 28th, pop singer Lara Johnston performed a full band showcase at ACME Feed & Seed in Nashville.

From the moment she took the stage,  she commanded the attention of her audience with her dynamic  stage presence.  Performing to a packed crowd, Johnston’s voice soared as she effortlessly flowed through her soul-infused pop songs.

My personal favorite from the evening was the uptempo “Pity Party”  filled with playful lyrics that anyone that has had their heart broken would relate to.

Johnston showed her fearlessness by taking on an Aretha Franklin song, the only cover in the mix of original songs all written by her.  If you are doing a showcase and attempt a song by the Queen of Soul herself, you better be able to hold up to the icon and risk comparison.  She effortlessly pulled that one off.

Lara Johnston is one to watch, truly the whole package.  From top to bottom, the show was flawless with this powerhouse vocalist engaging and  entertaining the appreciative crowd.  Her voice is a force of nature to be reckoned with.  See her perform live if you get the opportunity.

Rated 5 out of 5 stars.
