Dubbed one of 2015 CMT Awards’ “Dapper Country Gents,” JT Hodges exclusively premiered his new sizzling summertime music video “Ray Bans” across all CMT platforms Wednesday, July 29. The first single off Hodges’ highly anticipated EP, “Locks on Doors,” “Ray Bans,” continues to blaze up Sirius XM’s The Highway Chart following the exclusive streaming release on People.com and its premiere on Sirius XM’s The Highway this past spring.
The infectious single was inspired by Hodges’ wife of ten years during their vacation in Cozumel, Mexico. “… My wife was just feeling the music and took my Ray-Bans and went off on the dance floor with them on,” the esteemed country artist tells People.com. “I just remember watching her and thinking, ‘Wow, what a cool image.’ ”
Directed by Marcel and self produced by Hodges, with the help of Ryan O’Nan, the reminiscent music video tells the story of a lost summer love with flashback visions of the girl that got away.
