“She’s Kinda Hot,” the new single from 5 Seconds of Summer, is out today, providing fans a first taste of the Australian band’s upcoming album. A lyrically mischievous riot of an anthem – all crunchy guitars and high octane drums with a massive chorus – “She’s Kinda Hot” demonstrates why Billboard recently hailed 5 Seconds of Summer as a “new breed…better set up for superstardom than perhaps any other group out there.” The new album, which will be released by Capitol Records later this year, is the follow-up to 5 Seconds of Summer’s self-titled debut, which entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1 last July.

The lyric video for “She’s Kinda Hot” premiered today on VEVO and can be seen HERE.

5 Seconds of Summer will perform at the Teen Choice Awards, which will be broadcast live on FOX on Sunday, August 16, at 8pm/7pm CT. The band won two awards in 2014 and is nominated for six awards this year. Voting is underway HERE. On Friday, August 21, they will appear on “Good Morning America,” performing in New York City’s Central Park as part of the show’s 2015 summer concert series.

Having spent the last two months performing at sold-out venues across the U.K., Europe and Australia – including three sold-out nights at the SSE Wembley Arena – 5 Seconds of Summer kick off the North American leg of their world tour at the Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas, NV tonight. The headline run will include shows at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, CA (July 20), KeyArena in Seattle, WA (July 24), Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, PA (August 29) and the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY (September 1). By the end of 2015’s “Rock Out With Your Socks Out Tour,” the band will have played to more than one million fans across three continents. See below for full itinerary.

The band’s electric live performances have earned critical acclaim. The Los Angeles Times found their fusion of “earnest, upbeat pop-rock” and “mall-punk ‘tude” unique while the Los Angeles Daily News, reviewing one of two sold-out 2014 shows at The Forum, noted, “[5 Seconds of Summer] kept up the excitement throughout the set.” The New York Times praised the group’s “gleaming pop-punk” while The Detroit News observed, “5 Seconds of Summer opened the show with an energetic blast of pop-rock, punctuated by big sing-along choruses…with no shortage of big hooks to pull from, the band is on the right track.”

5 Seconds of Summer’s self-titled debut album topped the iTunes charts in 76 countries after its release last year and has since sold more than three million units worldwide. In its first week of release, it sold 260,000 units in the U.S., marking the biggest debut for a new act in 2014. The band has won numerous awards, including an American Music Award, a People’s Choice Award, five MTV European Music Awards, an MTV Video Music Award and an iHeartRadio Music Award.
