Yesterday, the Academy of Country Music continued the 50th Anniversary weekend festivities in Texas with the ACM Charity Motorcycle Ride & Concert and ACM Lifting Lives Celebrity Golf Classic.
ACM CHARITY MOTORCYCLE RIDE & CONCERT – SATURDAY, APRIL 18
HIGHLIGHTS:
- This morning, the Academy of Country Music presented the ACM Charity Motorcycle Ride & Concert hosted by 2015 leading male ACM Award nominee Dierks Bentley. The ride began at two separate locations –Longhorn Harley-Davidson andStrokers Dallas, and concluded atMaverick Harley-Davidson for a ‘post-ride rally concert’ featuring Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice, Clare Dunn, Joey Hyde, James Otto, Dee Jay Silver,Montgomery Gentry, and Thompson Square.
- Before the ride, attendees and riders at Strokers were entertained with a special performance by Will Hoge, and Joey Hyde performed for the riders at Longhorn Harley-Davidson before they hit the road.
- Celebrity riders included Dierks Bentley and Kiefer Thompson of Thompson Square departing from Strokers Dallas; Montgomery Gentry,James Otto, and Brooke Edendeparted from Longhorn Harley-Davidson.
- Concert at Maverick Harley-Davidson concluded with Lee Brice who performed his hits including “Hard to Love”, and stayed 45 minutes after his set to sign autographs and take
- Proceeds from the event benefitedACM Lifting Lives, local child abuse advocacy groups (Children’s Advocacy Center for Denton County,Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Bikers Against Child Abuse, and 444 Angel) and military philanthropies (Folds of Honor Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, Navy SEAL Foundation, and Task Force Dagger Foundation.
LIFTING LIVES CELEBRITY GOLF CLASSIC – SATURDAY, APRIL 18
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Earlier today, chart-topping country music star Darius Rucker hosted theACM Lifting Lives® Celebrity Golf Classic presented by G. Debbas Chocolatier and GoPicnic for the fourth consecutive year at Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas, Texas.
- The ACM Lifting Lives Celebrity Golf Classic, the ninth held since 2004, brought together country music artistsJT Hodges, Charles Kelley, Chris Young and Branch & Dean, as well as other members of the music community in a scramble tournament to raise funds and awareness for ACM Lifting Lives’ Diane Holcomb Emergency Relief Fund.
