Today, country music standout Sam Hunt releases the music video for his latest single, “Take Your Time.” “Take Your Time” is quickly making its way up country radio’s Top 10 and just surpassed 500,000 in track sales, making it Hunt’s second consecutive RIAA-certified Gold single as an artist following the now Platinum-selling No. 1 smash, “Leave the Night On,” off his debut album, MONTEVALLO(MCA Records Nashville).
The provocative new video for “Take Your Time,” directed by Tim Mattia (The 1975, Cage The Elephant), is a multi-layered, cinematic piece. “I want Sam to surprise people with this video and its darker, grittier edge,” says Mattia.
Hunt is known in his writing for exploring stories from every perspective; the same holds true with this video which twists the viewpoint to focus on the environment and story of the lead female. The video reveals the life of a struggling mother, vulnerable in her relationship while Hunt, as the narrator, is seemingly only a bystander.
