In a business of dreams, Rainey Qualley has had several come true in recent months. She signed her first record deal, heard her first single on the radio for the first time and signed with a major booking agency among them. This week, she had two more come true on the same night – or nights, actually. She opened for one of her heroes, Willie Nelson, Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the famed Ryman Auditorium.
Rainey will head to her first South By Southwest conference to perform a set at the ASCAP Presents at SXSW 2015 show on Friday, March 20 at 9:00pm in the Victorian Room of The Driskill Hotel, 604 Brazos Street in Austin. Admission is free with a SXSW badge or wristband.
Rainey has been on a radio tour promoting “Turn Me On Like The Radio” with Star Farm Nashville since mid-January. In between tour dates, she has been working on her debut EP with producers Russ Zavitson and John Ramey and an early summer release is scheduled.
