Elektra Records country singer-songwriter Dean Alexander’s new single “Live A Little,” which was recently named one of “Tomorrow’s Hits” by Billboard, cracked the Top 50 at Billboard this week and is also available on iTunes now. Warner Music Nashville’s newly created 3rd promotion team celebrated an impressive debut with the track becoming the second most added record upon release with over 50 radio stations currently spinning the track across the country. The first single from his forthcoming album, “Live A Little” is a hook-filled celebration of life and an up-tempo call to seize the day–something Alexander’s life has more than qualified him to share about. In his introductory video, No Other Road, fans can explore a little more about Alexander’s life and story behind his music which truly is the reason he is here today. Engaging his fans on Facebook and Twitter, he encourages everyone to share their own #livealittle stories with him on social media.
Moving to Nashville in 2003 with only $100 in his pocket and a guitar in his hand, Alexander worked odd jobs, living out of his car while honing his craft on Broadway in downtown. He found himself landscaping the home owned by the late Barbara Orbison where Orbison herself asked him for a demo CD and within a week, offered him his first publishing deal. In the fall of 2010, Alexander was discovered by the legendary producer Scott Hendricks which ultimately led to his signing with the Warner family. Recently, Alexander was named “One to Watch in 2014” by Country Weekly as well as “Best Local Music Celebrity” in 2012 by the Nashville Scene (alongside Taylor Swift and Jack White). “Dean’s music will stand out of the crowd from a songwriting sense and his vocal delivery,” raves Scott Hendricks, SVP of A&R, Warner Music Nashville. “There is simply nothing like it in our format. I’m anxious for the world to hear what we’ve been excited about since we met.”
