Mercury recording artist Jennifer Nettles and Slate Creek’s Brandy Clark have been out on Nettles’ That Girl Tour since early February and, in what has become one of the highlights of the show, the women pair up for a chilling version of “His Hands.” A live recording of the moving performance is available now on iTunes.
“His Hands,” written by Nettles, Hillary Lindsey and Ashley Gorley, was originally released on the deluxe version of Nettles solo debut album, That Girl, and Nettles believes it is the perfect song to sing as a duet with Clark.
“What I love about what Brandy brings to this is song,” explains Nettles, “is that her voice has a sweet vulnerability to it that I think makes the character in the second verse that much more believable and that much more authentic.”
Clark shares, “Jennifer is one of the best, most generous entertainers that I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with. Getting the opportunity to sing ‘His Hands’ with her every night has been a career highlight. It is such a powerful song and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”
