This debut album of duets entitled ‘Bridges’ from up-and-coming country artist Mary Sarah is JUST what traditional country fans have been waiting for. This aptly-titled release, because she’s literally building a bridge from one generation to another, features many traditional country songs made new again as this amazing, young vocalist (Mary Sarah is only 18!) brings her soaring vocals together with many of the biggest country legends around like: Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Vince Gill, Tanya Tucker, The Oak Ridge Boys, and more!
I am NOT easily-impressed. Trust me on that. It takes a lot for me to really stand up and take notice, but I was so moved and literally had goosebumps when I listened to the track “Crazy” with Willie Nelson the first time. I recall my initial reaction as “Woah! Who IS this girl???” I immediately searched her out on YouTube to find her page here: www.youtube.com/marysarahmusic The first video I saw was the one below and I was instantly sold!
Seriously, I can’t say enough good things about this album or Mary Sarah. I absolutely loved all the older classics being brought to life again by hearing not only the original legend singing, but being joined together with this vibrant, young songstress. My favorite off the album is “Crazy”, but I equally love “Jolene” with Dolly and “Go Rest High On The Mountain” with Vince Gill will not only bring you goosebumps, but tears, too. “Texas, When I Die” — well, me being born and originally from Texas, I loved this swinging jam with Tanya Tucker.
I can go straight down the list of songs and tell you something that I love about each & every one, but I’m just going to say GET IT on iTunes when it comes out July 8th. You will NOT regret it. Absolutely beautiful and a fun jaunt through the country classics with the legends themselves! If you have not heard of Mary Sarah, you will! Trust me! With her soaring vocals, vibrant personality…she just has IT! How do I explain “IT”? When someone has the full package and just a bit more extra sparkle that they shine more brightly than others. She’s a standout, ya’ll! Support her and buy the album the day it comes out. Better yet, pre-order it on iTunes!
Yes, I know I gushed about this one, but it is entirely WORTH a gush!
