American Quarter Horse World Champion Denny Strickland is now adding another accomplishment to his name, Nashville recording artist, with the release of his debut single, “Honky Tonk Highway.” The single is available NOW on iTunes and for radio programmers through CDX. Produced by Dan Frizsell and written by Phil O’Donnell, this upbeat introduction is sure to land on everyone’s radar as he kicks off his career in 2014. Already an accomplished artist, Strickland has performed alongside the likes of Kris Kristofferson and John Carter Cash.
Strickland says, “I’m really excited to release my debut single. With all of the preparation and time spent it’s finally here. “Honky Tonk Highway” hits the mark for me, and pays respects to Hank Williams Jr., George Strait, and the late George Jones. It tells the story of racing down the highway in your truck while blasting your favorite songs and seizing every opportunity that’s thrown your way.”
This Arkansas native was raised on his family’s farm where he was first introduced to the American Horse culture. Strickland has gone on to compete on the State and National level that led him to be crowned American Quarter Horse World Champion. The move from AQHA to country music was a natural choice for Denny. He continues to stay involved in the American Quarter Horse world and is a frequent performer at their exhibits and events. His electrifying live performances include a mix of everything from classic rock ballads to his signature original songs to modern country hits.
His debut EP is also available now on iTunes: HERE
