Rhymetown Entertainment, LLC recently launched in Nashville, and the label’s flagship act, North 40, has shipped the new female anthem “Hey Girl Hey” to country radio. The new duo, comprised of singer/songwriters Paige Logan and Heather Looney, will be visiting radio stations through the summer and finishing up a full-length album to be released later this year.
Written by Paige Logan and Amber Rose, “Hey Girl Hey” is three minutes of pure rousing fun. “Goin’ out tonight, it’s gonna rock/Throw that junk off the jukebox/This is no-man’s land, no boys allowed – c’mon make your momma proud/Kick it up a notch let the whole crowd hear you say, ‘Hey Girl Hey.'” Leigh Reynolds and Mills Logan produced the new single and it will be at the helm for the rest of the album. “Hey Girl Hey” is currently available at iTunes.
North 40 is the newest chapter in the lives of these talented women, merging their country roots into a progressive, original new sound. Prolific songwriters, the artists are unveiling their creative collaboration, North 40, with a tight fusion of sweet and spicy harmonies and songs that hit home with the core country listener. Though relatively new as a music duo, the friendship of Logan and Looney goes back almost two decades. Both originally moved to Nashville to pursue music careers, and as life, family, children, etc., sidetracked them a bit, they never lost sight of their artistic dreams. Finally, and after realizing that the music they were hearing on the radio was not speaking to them or their demographic – the core country listener – they decided to take matters into their own hands…’cause life begins at North 40.
“North 40 isn’t just about music, it’s about empowering everybody in our age bracket and giving them all a voice and reminding them that it’s never too late to be what you might have been” said Paige. Heather concurred, “There are women who are moms or wives just like us who love life and love to go out and have fun. Our first single ‘Hey Girl Hey’ is for them!”
North 40 is also about a lifestyle that reflects the lives, loves and lessons learned by Heather and Paige, both individually and as a duo. Between writing appointments, performances and music business functions, Paige spends time on her farm tending to horses and raising a variety of organic, non-GMO vegetables and healing herbs. Heather is a wife and mother who is also a domestic taxi driver, chef, nurse to two small children as well as an in-demand decorator.
Rhymetown Entertainment has assembled a powerhouse team to take North 40 to the marketplace including GrassRoots Promotion and Marco Promotions covering country radio airplay, Girlilla Marketing handling strategic digital marketing and AristoVideo soliciting music video airplay.
