Superstar sibling trio, The Band Perry, headlined Music City’s July 4th celebration “Let Freedom Sing” for those with a “pioneer” spirit who didn’t let a little rain get in the way. A steady stream of people filled Nashville’s river front during the day and by show time, the crowd grew to more than 100,000 throughout the entire event campus. They braved the non-stop rain to experience the award-winning band’s high energy performance and to see Music City’s fireworks show, which is consistently ranked one of the Nation’s largest and best.
The Band Perry took to the stage with a very special patriotic nod with their rendition of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” and then launched full throttle into an “in your face” performance of their current hit single “DONE.” The show maintained a steady pace of electric energy with the crowd sometimes singing so loudly that the band just let them take over, citing that they came to Nashville to hear the fans sing.
“The fourth of July is a family holiday and we couldn’t think of a better way than spending it with our Nashville family,” says Kimberly Perry, of The Band Perry.
“We weren’t going to let a little rain stop us from giving Nashville a great show. We didn’t mind getting a little wet, it was a lot of fun!” says Neil Perry.
“To look out into the audience and see so many people who didn’t let the weather dampen their spirits was so rewarding,” says Reid Perry.
Music City was host to an amazing fireworks display which kicked off on the last note of The Band Perry’s two-week #1 song “Better Dig Two,” which was the final song of the evening from the superstar trio. “The Band Perry’s spirit matched Nashville’s spirit last night as neither the fans, the event itself, or the band backed down in delivering on the expectations the city has set for its annual July 4th celebration. The band was absolutely over the top and gave the crowd everything they deserved for coming out last night. We can’t thank them or the fans enough, “ says Butch Spyridon, President and CEO of Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp..
Fans took to Twitter last night to express their excitement about the show:
“The Band Perry made tromping thru the rain so worth it!”
“Saw The Band Perry in concert tonight!! They do not disappoint!! : -) “
“We managed to have one heck of a Fourth of July dancing like fools to The Band Perry…”
