Jason Aldean Flashes Back To “1994” For The Third Single Off “Night Train”

Aldean Heads to NYC Next Week for Multiple Television Appearances, All For The Hall New York and a Sold-Out Madison Square Garden Show

Jason Aldean

Platinum selling entertainer Jason Aldean will give country radio a dose of nostalgia unlike anything heard before when he releases his next single, “1994,” available now on Play MPE.

“1994” embraces hip-hop elements and takes listeners on a fun journey through the year Aldean was a senior in high school, Justin Bieber was born, OJ Simpson’s white Bronco sped across the nation’s TV screens and a gallon of gas only cost $1.09. When Aldean first heard the demo of the song, written by Barry Dean, Luke Laird and Thomas Rhett, he nearly fell out of his chair laughing and knew it was something totally different that he wanted to take a crack at recording for the record.

Casey James Delivers at Exit/In

FOCUS caught up with Casey James at his show in Nashville – also watch for a full interview coming up at CRS 2013!

Casey James

Watch out country music world: Casey James is ready to take you by storm. We caught up with Casey on his way through Nashville when he was performing at Exit/In, and we are already looking forward to next time!

After Corey Crowder opened the show with some great, high-energy country music, we witnessed the room fill to capacity waiting for the American Idol alum. As soon as he walked out, the room electrified (mainly with screaming girls) as he launched into his first song.

Casey made a name for himself on Idol with his sick guitar picking skills, as he was on the first season of the show to allow self-accompaniment. But you still haven’t seen anything until you’ve seen him live. Much like current superstars Keith Urban and Brad Paisley, he is his own lead guitarist. However, UNLIKE Keith, Brad, and a few others… Casey doesn’t have another band member on stage with lead capabilities. He has a rhythm/slide guitarist, a bass player and a keyboardist. Meaning those rocking riffs you hear in his music are all up to the man himself.

Casey opened the show with the song that also opens his album: “The Good Life,” a fun, up-tempo tune that planted a good foundation for his set. Another song that will probably be a staple to his show for a while – and should become a single – is “Drive,” a high-energy number that features Casey on a funky steel/electric guitar that allows him to really show off.

He also hit several slower songs such as “Love The Way You Miss Me” and of course his two singles, “Let’s Don’t Call It A Night” and his recent hit “Cryin’ On A Suitcase.”

With only one album to his name, this guy already has all the makings of a superstar. Not only can he play, he’s got a bluesy, country tone to his voice, perfect for crossover hits and the ability to sing just about anything. And yes… he has great hair.

You will start hearing more and more about Casey James in 2013; and watch for the big breakout to come within the next couple years.

Plus, stay tuned to FOCUS on the 615 for a full interview with Casey James coming up at CRS 2013!
