Interview With Justin Moore: His Recent Success, Touring and Philanthropy

Country Star Dishes On Gold Records, His Upcoming Daytona 500 Performance, Outlaws Like Me Tour, and Whose Ass He’d Most Like To Kick

Justin Moore

Justin Moore has been busy the last few months, and it doesn’t look like the Til My Last Day singer is slowing down anytime soon. We caught up with Justin to discuss his recent success, his upcoming headlining tour and his partnership with Crown Royal for philanthropic work with the Daytona 500.

“It’s been a really cool couple months here,” said Moore. “We closed out last year with our third number one song with Til My Last Day and… the second gold album. It was a pretty good Christmas present… We’ve been very blessed with country radio and all the fans have been so good to us over the years.”

Justin recently finished up the “Blood, Sweat and Beers Tour” with Eric Church, which was named one of the top tours of 2012 by Pollstar. Between Justin (who sings “I Could Kick Your Ass”), Eric (“Smoke A Little Smoke”) and their first opener Kip Moore (“Beer Money”), it sounds like a pretty rowdy tour, right? Not so much…

“We behaved ourselves, cause [Eric and I] had our kids out the whole time,” said Justin. “We were changing diapers… things change after you have kids!”

But Justin’s done being an opener for now. He recently announced his own headlining “Outlaws Like Me Tour where he’s taking out newcomers Dustin Lynch and Jon Pardi.

“[Dustin] has opened a bunch of shows for us over the last two or three years… we’re excited to have him on,” said Moore. “And Jon… I’m a big fan of his music and I hear he puts on a great show, so we’re excited to have him… We’re looking forward to it.”

As if preparing for a headlining tour weren’t enough, Justin is also a part of the “Your Hero’s Name Here” program sponsored by Crown Royal. He will be officially launching the campaign with a performance at the Crown Royal Footprint, and submitting the first nominations for the individual who will receive naming rights to the 2013 Brickyard 400.

Every year the whisky brand names the July race after a deserving hero. Fans can go on to www.crownroyalheros.com to nominate a hero who has made a difference in their lives.

“I wish we had more time to do things like this, since we have the platform to do so,” stated Moore. “It’s just one of the really cool things about our job that we have the opportunity to do.”

Moore finished by answering a couple fan-submitted questions. My personal favorite:

Q: “My favorite country song is ‘I Could Kick Your Ass.’ If you (Justin) could pick one person’s ass to kick in pop culture today, who would it be?”

A: “Justin Bieber probably, he gets on my nerves… I think I could take him.”

We’d like to thank Justin for his time, and wish him the best of luck! Be sure to nominate your hero for the “Your Hero’s Name Here” project, and check out the “Outlaws Like Me Tour” when it comes to your area.
