American Cadence Records Artist Kiernan McMullan releases New EP During UK Tour
Irish-Australian artist Kiernan McMullan recently finished recording his second EP titled Company, and is set to release on April 1st. Company will precede his third full-length record to be released later this year.
As a touring veteran averaging about 250 dates per year, the majority of McMullan’s songs were written about the road. This next release offers a fresh take on an old subject. “I don’t write love songs. But looking at it from a different perspective, Company is a collection of anti-love songs expressing themes that aren’t really present in popular music,” says McMullan. The five song EP features his intricate songwriting, and includes songs covering anti-love, complacency, loneliness, and love gone wrong, with an underlying love for a great hook. This record picks up where he left off on his last full-length album, Two Years, and is sure satisfy his loyal fan base as well as new listeners looking for music across the singer-songwriter, soul and acoustic genres.
This EP marks his fourth release and can be heard live starting February 23rd at War Memorial, where he will be opening for Dave Mason. McMullan will embark on his next tour through the United Kingdom, starting in Ireland and coinciding with his April 1st EP release.
For the past ten years, McMullan has made an international impression as a soulful acoustic songwriter, performing at sold-out shows, festivals and tour dates with well-established talent such as Sheryl Crow, Ed Sheeran and Mat Kearney, to name a few. With nothing but a plane ticket, a hiking bag, and a guitar, he flew to the US, hitched and bussed from gig to gig, and played shows every other day. His last album, Two Years, was recorded in Ireland as his second full-length album and tells the story of his first two years spent in America.
