The Warren Brothers and Thomas Rhett to Co-Headline at CRS

CRS songwriter showcase sponsored by BMI and Country Aircheck

The Warren BrothersCountry Radio Seminar is proud to announce songwriters The Warren Brothers (Brad and Brett) and Thomas Rhett as co-headliners of CRS 2013’s WCRS Live! songwriter showcase, which will take place Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013.

The event, WCRS Live!: “Brad, Brett & Thomas Rhett,” is sponsored by BMI and Country Aircheck, and will take place from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. CT on the second floor of the Nashville Convention Center during Country Radio Seminar.

“Enter this showcase at your own risk…. these three BMI songwriters could possibly tear the house down,” commented Jody Williams, Vice President of Writer/Publisher at BMI.  “Thomas Rhett’s rocket ship has already taken off.  He’s going to be a big part of country radio’s future.  And Brad and Brett Warren continue to write groundbreaking music for the format.  BMI is very excited to represent these talented and entertaining hit songwriters.  This year’s line-up at WCRS live should be a blast.”

Chris Young To Be Honored With Coveted Triple Play Songwriter Award

 Chris Young will be honored on January 29th by the CMA with the coveted Triple Play Award for his #1 hits “Voices,” “Tomorrow,” and “You.”  The award recognizes songwriters who have written three number-one songs within a 12-month period.

As a Triple Play honoree, it is a natural fit for CMA to select Chris as a featured artist to help further the popularity of country music overseas.  In February, Young makes his inaugural trip to the U.K. and Ireland as part of the Country Music Association’s Songwriters Series with stops in Dublin, Belfast and London. The Ultimate Country Music Fan Experience began in 1972 as Fan Fair®, bringing 5,000 fans to Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium. More than 40 years later, the legendary festival has become the city’s signature music event, which annually attracts tens of thousands of fans from all 50 states and around the globe and has raised millions of dollars for music education. The event will once again be filmed for an ABC Television special airing later in the summer, shining a national spotlight on both Country Music and Music City.

“The Voice” Winner Cassadee Pope Signs To Republic Nashville

Cassadee PopoeRepublic Nashville proudly announces today the addition of Cassadee Pope to its roster. The young singer-songwriter emerged while competing on NBC’s “The Voice” and winning the Season 3 title last December.

Chosen for Team Blake (Shelton), Pope excelled throughout the competition, displaying diverse musical tastes and talents, covering songs like Keith Urban’s “Stupid Boy,” Kelly Clarkson’s “Behind These Hazel Eyes” and Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn.” After a performance of “Over You” – honoring her mentor and his wife, Miranda Lambert – the tune catapulted to the #1 spot on the iTunes All Genre Chart.

“I am so excited to be joining the very talented Republic Nashville family. With preparation well under way for the kick off of his ‘No Shoes Nation’ Tour on March 16 in Tampa, Fl, Chesney and NSN will celebrate a summer of music, friends and good times. “The fans are the foundation of ‘No Shoes Nation,'” Chesney said. “They built it from the ground up, and they built it with heart, passion and the love of life and music, and I can’t wait to feel that connection again throughout the summer of 2013.”

Mindy McCready Mourns Loss Of Life Partner

Mindy McCready“Today, we mourn the loss of my life partner and my children’s father, David Wilson. David was my soulmate; he was a caregiver and guiding hand to our sons, Zander and Zayne. He was a precious gift from God to all of us and, yesterday, he returned home and is now with his mother and father. David loved and he was loved. Those who knew and loved him will miss him; those who did not know David, missed the opportunity to know a truely loving and gifted man.” — Mindy McCready

Songwriter/producer, David Wilson (34), of Heber Springs, Arkansas, died early evening, January 13, 2013. Further information, as received, will be provided by Ms. McCready’s PR representative, Kat Atwood/Music City Media. While arrangements are being made and Mr. Wilson laid to rest, the family appreciates utmost care and consideration of their privacy.
