On April 4th & 5th, the Academy of Country Music held their 2nd annual Party For A Cause at The Linq in Las Vegas. It was a fun-filled 2 days with a special kick-off party on April 3rd!
There was so much amazing music jam packed into these 2 days. I was able to watch performances by Keith Urban, Chris Young, Kip Moore, Love and Theft, Brett Eldredge, Cassadee Pope, Thomas Rhett, Danielle Bradberry, and many more! Watch some clips from the festival in the video below that I took to share with you guys!
Even had a fun side excursion to the High Roller Wheel, the brand new ferris wheel that loomed over the festival grounds, as media covering the event we were invited for a special reception and ride. I loved it, and truth be known, that little side excursion probably saved me from a major sunburn since I walked out into the Las Vegas sunshine to spend all day at an outdoor festival. Doh! No, I’m NOT exactly a sun goddess, so thank you Ceasars Entertainment for the invitation, it was really nice with delicious food, open bar, and a fun 45 minute ride onboard the High Roller Wheel. If you are planning a trip to Las Vegas, I highly-recommend it! It’s a state of the art, fully-enclosed ferris wheel that offers spectacular views of the Las Vegas strip. The High Roller Wheel is connected to the brand new entertainment complex called The Linq, which is also I must-see place to visit while in Vegas with great restaurants, shopping, and even bowling. Located right in the heart of the Las Vegas strip, you can’t miss it! See the footage I took in the video from the ride on the High Roller Wheel by clicking here!
As always, it was such a pleasure to be allowed to cover this special week in Las Vegas by ACM. Thank you Academy of Country Music! ACM Party For A Cause along with the kick-off party was a fun-filled start as the festival featured some of country music’s finest in a very fun atmosphere complete with all kind of booths and vendors giving away merchandise, selling merchandise, and festival food available for purchase galore. There was even a fun mechanical bull that I wanted to ride so badly, but given that immediately upon my return to Nashville I would be having surgery to fix some shoulder problems, I thought MIGHT not be such a good idea! ha Next year! Also, Ram Trucks featured a fun ride for thrill-seekers to experience. Money raised during these 2 days was donated to various charities supporting military veterans.
These music-filled 2 days, well…2 1/2 days including the kick-off party led up to the ACM Awards themselves held in the beautiful MGM Grand Hotel arena. Always a spectacular production that I have been lucky enough to attend twice now. It’s pretty amazing to get to watch something that I have always watched on tv year after year in-person. It’s pretty moving to me, actually, I can’t help but tear up a little each time I’m there and pinch myself that I am able to have that experience.
Finally, there was the ACM Salute To The Troops that followed the ACM Awards the next day. I have to admit that I was so worn from the previous days that I didn’t stay the entire time to watch the live taping of this special production, but what I DID get to see is something that you don’t want to miss as it airs on ABC on May 20th! They even included some military personnel among the performances with some of your favorite country stars. It’s a tv special that you’ll thoroughly enjoy. My dad served in and retired from the Air Force, so it was especially touching to me.
Looking forward to the 50th anniversary of the ACM Awards to take place in Dallas, Texas next year. I have a feeling it’s going to be bigger and more spectacular than ever!
