Named as the only Country act on Billboard’s Top 10 New Artists, Young continues to impress the genre and beyond with nominations from the ACM, Billboard, Teen Choice, CMT and CMA Awards. Raised in Yuba City, a small farming community in Northern California, Tyler Rich found his love of music gathered around a Christmas tree alongside family singing holiday classics and Creedence Clearwater Revival before being introduced to the Country sounds of George Strait, Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson. Fast forward to earning a degree in Economics, Tyler moved pursued a different game of numbers – music – exploring various genres with songwriting and bands before taking the leap as a solo artist signed with The Valory Music Co. While introducing his amplified sound and infectious energy coast to coast, the 2018 CMT Listen Up Artist has become a road warrior performing alongside Dustin Lynch, Sam Hunt, Brett Eldredge, Justin Moore, Cole Swindell, Dan + Shay. His lead single “The Difference” has already scored the No. 1 spot on SiriusXM, crossed over 18 million streams and solidified his national television debut on NBC’s TODAY. The Rhett Akins, Ben Burgess, Devin Dawson and Jacob Durrett-penned song offers a glimpse into his real-life courtship with fiancée actress Sabina Gadecki. Rachel Wammack, a 24-year old native from Muscle Shoals, Alabama, describes her sound as the trifecta of Country, Soul and Adult Pop. Being influenced heavily from the rich music history of her hometown, Rachel had no choice but to be shaped and sharpened by the artistic gusto that comes when those sounds merge. Rachel honed her craft not only as vocalist, but as a songwriter. At the age of 12, Rachel wrote her first song. Throughout the following adolescent years, Rachel expressed her art in her songwriting, storytelling, playing in the High school band, and pursuing a degree in professional writing. At the age of 17 she was discovered by a Sony Music Nashville executive while Rachel was performing at a fine cuisine, piano restaurant in Muscle Shoals. Five years and many written songs later, Rachel would receive a record deal from Sony Music Nashville. In April 2018 Rachel released her self-titled, four song EP via the RCA Records Nashville imprint, giving her ever growing fan base a taste of the music that’s still to come. Wammack’s EP, which includes her newly-released debut single “Damage,” proves that the young singer/songwriter is standing at the starting line of what promises to be an exciting, self-fulfilling and stunning career. “Music for Mike” Benefit Concert – Superstar Line Up – Tuesday Sept. 25th

Current and Former Arista Nashville Artists Lend Their Talent to Help Former Promo Guy

Tuesday, September 25, 2018, current and former Arista Nashville artists will take to the stage of the historic War Memorial Auditorium in support of Mike Owens at the “Music for Mike” benefit concert.  In 2014, Owens, a radio promotion manager with the label throughout the 1990’s, was diagnosed with end stage renal disease and has been placed on dialysis while he awaits a donor kidney.

The Music for Mike list of performers, which reads like a country music Who’s-Who, includes recent Songwriter’s Hall of Fame inductee Alan Jackson, superstar duo Brooks & Dunn, and critically acclaimed entertainer Brad Paisley, along with BlackHawk, Diamond Rio, Lee Roy Parnell, Pam Tillis, Phil Vassar and Steve Wariner. In total, these artists have sold over 150 million albums and racked up 99 number 1 hits. Backing this stellar line-up is veteran touring band, Sixwire.

95.5 Nash Icon has partnered with Music for Mike, and morning show host, Marty McFly, will serve as M.C.  Cumulus VP Country Format, Charlie Cook, acknowledges the artist line up is a perfect fit for the station, but explains their reasons for supporting the show run much deeper. “Every once in a while Nashville can come together for not only a good cause but in this case one that means something to all of us personally.  95.5 Nash Icon is proud to play a role in helping Mike and his family.”

Owens’ treatment has led to other health issues and mounting medical bills. Proceeds from the sale of tickets will go directly to the Mike Owens Family Trust.    If you are unable to attend but would like to help, please visit Mike’s GO FUND ME page.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday, August 17th.  Click HERE to purchase.

Songwriters, NMPA, And SESAC Announce Unconditional Support For Music Modernization Act

The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), the Songwriters of North America (SONA), the National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA), and SESAC today announced they have agreed to work together to support the Music Modernization Act (MMA). The broad coalition demonstrates an unprecedented commitment by the industry to support songwriters and music publishers, who will benefit from the bill’s ultimate passage, resulting in the most comprehensive reform to the music copyright business in generations.

The MMA improves how songwriters are paid by digital streaming services. The bill creates a single mechanical licensing entity which will establish an open, transparent copyright ownership database that will be overseen by music publishers and songwriters and paid for by digital services.

At the encouragement of Senators deeply involved in the legislation and recognizing the importance of the MMA for the future of the music industry, the parties have endorsed a provision under consideration by the Senate to amend the Mechanical Licensing Collective’s (MLC) administration of voluntary licenses outside the scope of the Section 115 compulsory license in order to ensure private vendors can continue to participate in the music market, maintaining competition which is beneficial to songwriters and producers.

All parties have enthusiastically agreed and respectfully request the Senate pass the MMA.

Nashville Songwriters Association International: “Reaching consensus within the music industry, on what may be the most important songwriter legislation in history, is a win for American songwriters and the broader music community. We are pleased to have put our differences behind us and support this bill in unanimous harmony. The Nashville Songwriters Association International has been a friend and fan of SESAC’s for decades and that is how our relationship will immediately resume.”

Songwriters of North America Executive Directors Michelle Lewis and Kay Hanley: “We are pleased to have come together with our partners SESAC, the NMPA, SONA and NSAI to move forward as a unified music community to support the successful passage and implementation of the much-needed Music Modernization Act. SONA would personally like to thank our partners, the NSAI and songwriter Ross Golan for their efforts and support in mobilizing the songwriter and artist community nationwide.”

NMPA President & CEO David Israelite: “We are thrilled that we have mutually agreed on a path forward. We are stronger when our music family speaks with one voice and this agreement will allow us to come together to work towards the passage of the MMA. Songwriters need and deserve this bill. We thank the Senators involved for their leadership and guidance.”

SESAC Chairman & CEO John Josephson: “SESAC has been fighting for songwriters since 1931 and continues to do so with its enthusiastic support of the MMA. At the encouragement of Senators closely involved in this legislation, all parties came together to agree on outstanding items related to the MMA including the reform of the Section 115 compulsory license and other important related matters. We share a collective responsibility to help ensure that the MMA benefits all stakeholders in the industry and look forward to the Senate’s consideration of the bill.”
