SEVEN DEADLY SINS Returns To Haunt This Halloween

Nashville Ballet’s popular contemporary collaboration with singer-songwriter collective Ten Out of Tenn returns to TPAC’s Polk Theater October 18-20, 2018 to usher in the Halloween season. An original score is played live while the ballet’s company artists perform a captivating narrative alongside them.

An instant hit after premiering in 2017, Nashville Ballet Resident Choreographer Christopher Stuart’s beguiling production returns to take viewers on a chilling journey through purgatory. As the protagonist encounters each of the cardinal sins, a live performance by the highly acclaimed artists of Ten Out of Tenn – Butterfly Boucher, Trent Dabbs, Gabe Dixon, Katie Herzig, Jeremy Lister, Erin McCarley and k.s. Rhoads – transports the audience to a realm where only the most sinister survive. Will the protagonist find a way to defeat his inner demons or will the temptations he encounters lead to depravity?

“This collaboration is a snapshot of what is happening now in the local arts scene,” Rhoads said. “Ours is a city that celebrates and thrives on creativity, and this show is such a beautiful culmination of that. There will be dance, theatre, songwriting, musicianship and storytelling all in one. That’s really what Ten Out of Tenn was striving for when it began 12 years ago – to highlight the magic that is happening in this little town in the middle of Tennessee.”

Originating in 2005, Ten Out of Tenn is a collective of musicians ranging from Americana to folk to rock to pop that was created to highlight Nashville’s diverse music scene beyond the country genre for which it’s traditionally known. The musicians (each with their own successful solo careers and fan bases) team up to produce compilation albums and tour as one band, taking turns both in the spotlight and collaborating all together on stage to display the breadth of musical talent Nashville has to offer in one evening.

During this unique Ten Out of Tenn show, the artists will perform original music inspired by Stuart’s concept. Rhoads grouped the artists together to each create a song inspired by one of the seven vices explored in the ballet. Ten Out of Tenn musicians will perform the music along with a string quartet. The Seven Deadly Sins set list features:

• Pride (Can’t Bury My Weakness) by Butterfly Boucher
• Greed (This Isn’t What I Got Into It For) by Trent Dabbs and k.s. Rhoads
• Envy (If Every Wish Came True) by Katie Herzig, Amy Stroup and k.s. Rhoads
• Sloth (I Feel It Too Much) by Erin McCarley and k.s. Rhoads
• Gluttony (I Can’t Get Enough of Everything) by Jeremy Lister, Gabe Dixon and k.s. Rhoads
• Lust (All That I Want) by Matthew Perryman Jones and k.s. Rhoads
• Wrath (Like Thunder) by k.s. Rhoads

Choreographer Jennifer Archibald’s Superstitions opens the provocative evening. Born out of Nashville Ballet’s experimental series Emergence in 2017, and expanded upon since, Archibald’s work blends the precision, technicality and athleticism of tradition with contemporary dance styles in a look at the harrowing legends of the supernatural that have captivated countless generations. Superstitions continues to illuminate the vast wealth of talent in Music City with an innovative score by Nashvillebased composer Cristina Spinei.

Nashville Ballet is kicking off this fascinating production with Infernal Indulgence held October 10 from 6-10 p.m. at Bar Sovereign, 514 5th Ave. S, Nashville, TN 37203. For one night only, Bar Sovereign guests can enjoy a storied menu developed by Josh Whitfield. Just as the ballet’s protagonist encounters each sin, seven carefully crafted cocktails give patrons a taste of each vice before they come to life on stage at TPAC. The event is first come, first served with no cover charge. Cocktails may also be purchased in halfservings giving customers the opportunity to imbibe all the lascivious libations. Guests will also have the opportunity to interact with the musicians, dancers and choreographer behind this extraordinary work.

Purchase tickets for Seven Deadly Sins with Superstitions in person at the TPAC box office in downtown Nashville, by phone at (615) 782-4040 or at www.nashvilleballet.com. The presenting sponsor for this production is Climb Nashville. A complete performance schedule and more information can be found at www.nashvilleballet.com/seven-deadly-sins.

“The high-energy five-piece band” (Rolling Stone) has rapidly created a loyal fanbase over the past five years with more than 400 shows as the featured act with sold-out club runs in major markets such as New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles. After finishing up the 2018 MOUNTAIN HIGH TOUR with superstar Dierks Bentley, the band will close out 2018 during the first leg of the HALLELUJAH NIGHTS TOUR launching in Columbia, MO at The Blue Note on Oct. 24 with Travis Denning.

The “arena-rock leaning band” (Entertainment Weekly) is “at the top of their game” (Pitchfork) as they continue “dominating Country radio” (Billboard) by revealing another piece of their story with their Top 20 single “Born To Love You.”  Their 2X Platinum, multi-week No. 1 hit “Greatest Love Story” paved the course for acclaim with lead singer Brandon Lancaster becoming the first artist in 10 years to have a No. 1 on the chart solely written by that artist. LANCO earned recognition as the first Country group to debut on the Billboard Country albums chart in a decade with their coming-of-age album HALLELUJAH NIGHTS . As the record now boasts over 423 million streams it proves why this year’s two-time ACM and CMT nominated group is the only Country band to achieve a Platinum single prior to a debut album release. Tenille Arts Returns To ABC’s The Bachelor To Perform

Tenille Arts had a dream come true early this year, when she performed an original song on her favorite ABC show The Bachelor. The appearance led to a deal with Reviver Records, and the top-rated show has invited her back for a second appearance to perform her current single “I Hate This.”

Rolling Stone named Tenille one of their “10 New Country Artists You Need To Know” this week, calling her “An edgy, Fearless-era Taylor Swift with crystalline vocals; ideal for hopeless romantics who are fire signs.” The feature went on to say: “‘I Hate This’ addresses the helplessness that comes with any broken relationship, with Arts’ voice drifting and lilting over a Dobro riff.”

“I’m so excited to be on The Bachelor again! It’s an honor to have the opportunity to perform my music for such a huge audience,” said Tenille. “And to be included in Rolling Stone’s ‘10 New Country Artists You Need To Know’ in the same week is absolutely amazing. It’s so cool to see The Bachelor and Rolling Stone supporting new artists!”

Adam Wheeler co-wrote “I Hate This” with Tenille, and he produced the track with Matt Rovey. Tenille has been busy visiting country radio stations from coast to coast and writing and recording for an upcoming album .

The 24-year-old behind all of this recent attention is quietly confident country music lover raised in the small prairie town of Weyburn, Saskatchewan. She picked up the guitar and penned her first song at the age of 13 and has been performing across the US and Canada ever since. She made the move to Nashville almost three years ago, and a songwriting session brought her to the attention of award-winning producer Matt Rovey (Craig Campbell, Dean Brody), songwriter/producer Adam Wheeler and Noble Vision head Hal Oven.

Tenille’s music has tallied over six million streams. Her debut EP peaked at #1 on the iTunes Canada Country Album Chart and #37 on the iTunes U.S. Country Album Chart. Her first full-length album, Rebel Child, reached #2 on the iTunes Canada Country Album Chart and #16 on the iTunes U.S Country Album Chart.

Her talent and tenacity have so moved noted music critic Tom Roland that he has penned two rare full-page features the Billboard Country Update. Music Row Magazine critic Robert K. Oermann called Tenille “Promising in the extreme.” Streaming giant Pandora named her one of their new artists to watch for 2017, saying, “with songwriting inspired by Don Henley and reminiscent of early Taylor Swift, and vocals the size of her native Canada, Arts’ future is bright.” Popular country website whiskeyriff.com labeled Tenille a “new country artist name you need to know immediately,” and PopCulture.com named her one of their “Country Artists to Watch in 2018.”

The Last Bandoleros Announce Weekly October Residency In Nashville

Warner Bros. / Warner Music Nashville recording artists and world-traveling entertainers The Last Bandoleros are back in town, and to celebrate their homecoming they’ve announced a residency at Layman Drug Company every Tuesday of October. Along with an irresistible offer of free tacos and beer, “Taco Tuesdays with The Last Bandoleros” will feature brand new music, special guests and more. Sponsors include Nada Tacos, Codigo Tequila and Topo Chico. Fans can RSVP at http://www.thelastbandoleros.com/.

“We’ve finally all settled at home here in Nashville after being on the road for the past two years,” said guitarist/vocalist Derek James. “We thought having a free weekly residency would be a great way for some of the local community who don’t yet know us to hear our music for the first time.”

“We also wanted to bring a taste of our culture to these shows,” added bassist/vocalist Diego Navaira. “So we thought… Bandos, tacos and tequila!”

The Last Bandoleros (James, Navaira, guitarist/vocalist Jerry Fuentes and percussion/vocalist Emilio Navaira) have spent much of the past few years on the road. Music icon Sting handpicked them to join his 57th and 9th World Tour before heading out on their own headlining dates across the country and abroad. Throughout that time they’ve steadily released new tracks and videos, including the brand new song “What Would You Be Doing?” Revealed just last month, the “poignant remembrance of an important artist” (Rolling Stone) is the Navaira brothers’ tribute to their late father. Watch the official music video HERE.

Designated one of seven bands Entertainment Weekly praised for leading the way in Music City and a 2016 People “Ones To Watch,” the gritty touring band will hit the road again later this year. November will take them to Germany for a string of dates overseas. The Last Bandoleros have earned acclaim across the globe for their Beatles-esque harmonies and muscular instrumentation. Outlets including The Orange County Register, The Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Houston Press and The St. Louis Post-Dispatch have praised their unique sound and strong stage presence in live performances, with The Tennessean applauding their “harmony-rich, high energy” and The Boston Globe declaring that they “came out on fire and just kept burning.”
