Kenny Chesney Launches Blue Chair Bay Rum

Premium White, Coconut and Coconut Spiced Are Benchmarks For New Co.

Kenny Chesney, Blue Chair Bay Rum

When Kenny Chesney decided it was time to find the rum he’d always wanted to drink, he didn’t approach the various distillers who’d offered him lucrative deals to lend his name and likeness to a brand created for him. No, the man who oversees every aspect of giant stadium productions and listens to a myriad of songs beyond what he writes for his albums, decided he wanted to do it himself.

So with a handful of dedicated professionals, Chesney began thinking, then researching, then seeing if it was possible. For a young man who didn’t dream of rocking football stadiums, but for whom the University of Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium was holy ground, the impossible never seemed to be something you can’t do if you apply yourself.

Lady Antebellum Reveal Details About Upcoming Album “Golden”

Lady Antebellum, Golden

For seven-time GRAMMY winning trio Lady Antebellum, their upcoming fourth Capitol Records Nashville release GOLDEN out May 7 was figuratively – and literally – born on the move.

The harmony-based trio and its sizeable fan base bonded heavily during the band’s headlining Own The Night World Tour – an over-sized road trip, if there ever was one. The shows themselves were inspirational. But so was the time offstage. Lady A made a point of experimenting and creating with its road band as the one-nighters and the miles of travel piled up. That behind-the-scenes interaction inspired much of the music on GOLDEN, an instantly infectious project in which Lady A discovered new edges for its already-successful foundation.

George Strait Set To Release ‘Love Is Everything’ May 14th

George StraightGeorge Strait is set to release his highly anticipated 40th studio album, Love Is Everything, on May 14th on longtime label home MCA Nashville. The King of Country music rejoined veteran producer Tony Brown to co-produce the album, which features 13 new tracks, including the Top 15 and climbing current single “Give It All We Got Tonight.” Love Is Everything includes four songs written or co-written by Strait, who penned many alongside his son Bubba Strait and legendary songwriter Dean DillonLove Is Everything will be available in stores and at all digital retailers.

With the new album’s first single “Give It All We Got Tonight” quickly approaching Top 10 on the Country radio charts, the song is poised to become Strait’s 60th #1 single. Fans and fellow Country artists recently started campaigning for the “Sixty For Sixty” movement, which encourages local radio stations to make the song his 60th #1 single before his 61st birthday on May 18th. Their efforts are certainly paying off as “Give It All We Got Tonight” is the fastest certified Gold single of Strait’s incredible 32-year career.  Fans can tweet and Instagram their support with hashtag #60for60, as well as share posts on Facebook.

Nikki Williams, “Glowing” World Premiere [Matt Williams Exclusive Interview]

Rising pop star’s video for her latest single premieres TODAY on VEVO

Since I have been relentlessly plugging Nikki Williams for a while now (for good reason), I was excited to catch up with her about her new video for the single  “Glowing” which premiers today on VEVO. She may live outside the 615 area code now, but she did move here from South Africa before finding her way to LA. Not only that, she cut her teeth writing country songs (“Like My Mother Does,” “Fly Again”), so we’re gonna count it!

The 24-year-old songstress also talks about the song itself as a departure from her online debut of “Kill, F***, Marry” and her first album… all while getting a foot massage and eating a chicken sandwich.

Country Music Blog Rodeo: “Mainstream” Hasn’t Fallen In Love With Country Music… Just The Opposite

Country Music Blog RodeoIf you listen to pop radio you’ve noticed country stars showing up on the playlists more and more. If you watch awards shows, country artists and country music categories are featured more and more. ABC’s Nashville is a huge television success. And country seems to be taking over singing reality competitions (Tate Stevens won The X Factor, and let us not forget Blake Shelton is The Voice’s reigning champ two seasons in a row… and by the way, Cassadee Pope, last season’s winner, has just signed with country label Big Machine). So why has “mainstream” fallen in love with country music?

It’s simple: “Mainstream” isn’t coming around to country. Country is going to it. Not in a conformist way, but a revolutionary way.

“What is country music, really?” is a topic debated ad nauseum, and I won’t touch it. I’m far from knowing where the exact line is that separates country music from not country music; however, there is certainly no need to hold the country music genre captive in a box anymore. Those boxes are obsolete.
