Tickets On-sale Now at raystevenscabaray.com or by calling 615-327-4630

After nearly two years of excavation, construction, furnishing and outfitting, country and comedy music legend Ray Stevens is finally ready to unveil his new state-of-the-art Nashville showroom, CabaRay. Today, Stevens announced his grand opening celebration set to take place January 18, 19 and 20.

“This whole process has been a real labor of love for me,” says Stevens. “It took some time to get the building fully constructed and iron out all the kinks but I’m thrilled to say we’re finally ready to open the doors to the public. We’d hoped to open last year… but better late than never!”

CabaRay is an homage to the producers, musicians, songwriters and artists who “made Nashville Music City,” according to Stevens. The venue’s interior is wallpapered with recording studio photos of sessions where hits like “Pretty Woman,” “El Paso,” “Ahab the Arab,” and many others were born. The showroom features six red leather banquette booths named for esteemed Nashville record producers Chet Atkins, Owen Bradley, Shelby Singleton, Fred Foster, Jerry Kennedy and Billy Sherrill.

“This is a uniquely Nashville facility that celebrates the city and the industry I love and that has been so very good to me,” notes Stevens.

CabaRay features dinner service for 500 patrons downstairs with beverage service for over 200 more upstairs in theatre-style seating. The Bill Lowery High Spirits Emporium is a true piano bar, featuring Nashville favorite John Jonethis on keys. The venue also includes a lobby gift shop, chock full of souvenirs.

Stevens’ current plan is to host his own weekly dinner shows— Thursday through Saturday evenings. As the year progresses, he plans to add Wednesday night shows, as well as bring in outside talent to perform in the venue.

In addition to serving dinner, drinks and entertainment, the facility will also act as the production studio for Stevens’ popular “CabaRay Nashville” TV show, airing nationally on Public Television. The building will eventually house the office operations of Ray Stevens Music publishing companies, recording studio and real estate interests, all within the 35,000 square foot building.

CabaRay is located in West Nashville at 5724 River Road. Free parking is available for nearly 300 vehicles, as well as several tour buses.

Tickets for the first string of concerts, featuring live performances by Stevens, are on-sale now and can be purchased online at raystevenscabaray.com or by calling 615-327-4630.

Stevens has also planned a January 10 private red carpet VIP opening celebration for his friends, family, the media, and music industry colleagues. Media interested in covering the event should email caroline@absolutepublicity.com.

Sugarland Is Back And They Are Still The Same, Just Like The Title Of Their New Single

Photo Credit: Shervin Lainez for Big Machine Records / UMG Nashville

Ever since it was unveiled during the CMA Awards and there was a special performance by them during the Big Machine CMA Awards after party announcing their return, I have eagerly-awaited new music from Sugarland.

They are back after a 7 year hiatus and newly-signed to a joint venture between Big Machine Label Group and UMG Nashville releasing their first single, “Still The Same”, to country radio yesterday.

I have to admit that tears filled my eyes and I was so ecstatic to see them reunited as Sugarland when Big Machine CEO Scott Borchetta announced they were back together as a duo and releasing new music soon back in November.

As great as Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush are as solo artists with each enjoying success on their own, there is just something magical when they come together as Sugarland.

This new song, “Still The Same”, is the perfect single to mark their return as the multi award-winning duo.  The lyrics are poignant and heartfelt.  The mid tempo melody is hopeful and anthem-like.  You feel the energy.  The song as a whole wells up emotions inside and you can not help but celebrate their return right along with them.  There is a renewed enthusiasm that just exudes from them evident in the music video.

Check it out below and hear this beautiful, new song from them that I predict will go number one rather quickly.

Obviously, I highly-recommend buying it today and support Sugarland’s return.

###

Yesterday, superstar Country duo Sugarland released their first single in seven years via a new joint venture with Big Machine Records and UMG Nashville. The single, “Still The Same,” is both aptly-titled and features the strength and positivity fans have come to expect from the acclaimed pair of Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush. Lyrics echo: “Let’s leave it better than how it came / our love is / still the same.” The hitmakers premiered the song worldwide with all digital partners, it’s available here: http://smarturl.it/StillTheSame

Since the band’s inception in 2002, Sugarland has sold nearly 10 million albums domestically, achieving high-mark sales with PLATINUM-certified THE INCREDIBLE MACHINE, 2X PLATINUM LOVE ON THE INSIDE and 3X PLATINUM TWICE THE SPEED OF LIFE as well as ENJOY THE RIDE. Their most popular songs include PLATINUM-certified “All I Want to Do” and “Stay,” 2X PLATINUM “Stuck Like Glue” as well as GOLD-certified “Baby Girl,” “It Happens,” “Settlin’,” “Something More” and “Want To.” Sugarland has also earned seven No. 1 singles to date and amassed over 260 million on-demand streams. Their critical and mainstream appeal has been magnified with industry accolades – five consecutive CMA Awards for Vocal Duo of the Year (2007-2011), five ACM Awards (including Song of the Year and Single of the Year) and GRAMMY® Awards for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals and Best Country Song for “Stay.”

Sugarland will end the year with an exciting performance on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2018, which airs on ABC from New York City’s Times Square. Continuing the momentum, they have confirmed dates at C2C: Country 2 Country Music Festival in Europe next Spring and teased more live shows to come. For more information about upcoming music and tours, visit SugarlandMusic.com.

Album Review: Danielle Bradbery | I DON’T BELIEVE WE’VE MET

Danielle Bradbery’s sophomore album, I DON’T BELIEVE WE’VE MET, releases December 1st.

This album shows growth and introspection from the powerful vocalist who up until this point following THE VOICE has been highly-underated, in my opinion.  There is no reason she should not be garnering #1 hits and award nominations.

This album could be her game-changer as emotional songs fill this stellar release.

Standouts for me off this album are “Potential” and the vibey “What Are We Doing”.  Lots to love here!

Buy it on December 1st, it’s a must have from this incredible songstress.

Brantley Gilbert Debuts “FANDOM: FULLY COMMITTED” Today

Courtesy of the Valory Music Co.

With Rolling Stone calling THE DEVIL DON’T SLEEP (The Valory Music Co.) one of the year’s Best of Country and Americana so far this year, alongside Willie Nelson, Chris Stapleton, Alison Krauss, Nikki Lane and Jason Isbell, it feels like the critics are recognizing the lived-in truth of the Georgia born, raised and living songwriter thoroughly inhabits. But to understand the back-to-back PLATINUM success of HALFWAY TO HEAVEN and JUST WHO I AM, it comes down to understanding the bond between BRANTLEY GILBERT and his fans, known as the BG Nation.

With a tireless hard-ticket touring schedule that focuses on the Rust Belt, Northeast, West and entire South, it’s tricky being in the right place at the right time to catch him. So when the Opry Entertainment Group wanted to kick-off a new series dedicated to the fans, they knew exactly who the right artist to set their tone was: Brantley Gilbert and the always zealous BG Nation.

“When the Opry people came to us about kicking off their series Fandom,” recalls the man who won the American Music Awards Best Country Album for Just Who I Am, “I was all about it. We didn’t quite know how it was going to work, but I knew wherever they went, they were going to find the very best people in the world.

“When we got into taping, it was so much about Marc and Tina (Schardan) — I loved that! Loved the idea viewers would get a sense how blessed I am, because they were going to get to see what I see: the kind of soul I see every night when I go out and meet the people who love this music.”

With Rolling Stone calling Gilbert’s latest single “the soundtrack to Friday night in small towns everywhere,” it’s that ability to tap into how people between the coasts, the ones who work hard 60 hour weeks, that’s given the man whose penned six No. 1 singles, including Jason Aldean’s CMA Awards Song of the Year nominated “Dirt Road Anthem,” such a passion point with the BG Nation.

“Even before we had a record label, there were people who believed in this music. They believed in the things I was writing about, and they came to the shows, because my songs were their life.  When you talk to the BG Nation, that’s what they say.  But when you hear their stories, listen to them talk about their lives, that’s when what we do out on the road and in the studio gets real.”

Saying and seeing are two different things. To check out what “Fandom: Fully Committed” is all about, go to People.com (link live at 10:00A ET) – and meet one of the diehard fans who believe in Gilbert’s full-throttle way of life.

“What I love is they make it about Marc! I mean, there’s a little of us in there, but it’s really about one of so many awesome people who believe – and live – this music,” Gilbert says. “The BG Nation are friends. They don’t get enough credit in what we do, for how they inspire us – and the way they share their lives with us through how the music is part of their life.  So, I love everything about this show. And having just done our baby announcement with People, well, they understand why friends and family are so important. So where else would we debut this?”

“Fandom: Fully Committed” is dedicated – like Gilbert – to showing people the essence of what makes Country music lovers special. They set a high bar with BG Nation, who begin coming together again as THE ONE’S THAT LIKE ME 2018 TOUR kicks off February 1 at Worcester, MA’s DCU Center.

John Oates Announces New Album

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member John Oates has teamed with an amazing group of accomplished and rising stars in the Americana music world to bring his new album, Arkansas, to life. Scheduled for release on February 2, the project is his first for Thirty Tigers.  Arkansas is available for advance order through e-retailers and a Pledge Music campaign including autographed vinyl, limited edition exclusives, hats, shirts, and more.

The project originally began as a tribute to Oates’ idol, Mississippi John Hurt. During a series of Nashville recording sessions, it evolved organically to become a unique collection drawing from a wide range of Oates’ musical influences. Asked about the style and sound of Arkansas, John says, “It’s like Dixieland, dipped in bluegrass, and salted with Delta blues.”

The album was recorded at Addiction Studios in Nashville and produced by Oates and David Kalmusky who also engineered and mixed it. The sonic glue that cements the project is “The Good Road Band”. The impressive lineup consists of Sam Bush on mandolin, Russ Pahl on pedal steel, Guthrie Trapp on electric guitar, Steve Mackey on bass, Nathaniel Smith on cello, and Josh Day on drums and percussion.

With this incredible band, Oates shines a light on music from America’s past long before the birth of rock ‘n’ roll. Fresh interpretations include the Emmett Miller classic “Anytime” from 1924 as well as the Jimmie Rodgers tune, “Miss the Mississippi and You,” from 1932. Reimagined traditional Delta, country blues and ragtime selections salute legendary artists like Mississippi John Hurt and Blind Blake.

Two new original songs by Oates blend seamlessly with the traditional roots material, as well as John’s deep catalog of Hall and Oates hits. Taken together, Oates’ music becomes a retrospective of American popular song.

ABOUT JOHN OATES

John Oates is one half of the best-selling duo of all time, Hall & Oates, as well as an accomplished solo artist. A member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Oates embarked on a long-awaited solo career in 1999. He has recorded six solo albums and the 2015 DVD docu-concert Another Good Road. His seventh project, Arkansas, will be released by Thirty Tigers in February..

Influenced by R&B and folk music while growing up near Philadelphia, Oates was honored as a BMI Icon in 2008. In 2016, Hall & Oates received a star on the Hollywood of Fame. In addition to his solo shows, Oates continues to tour with Daryl Hall, playing sold-out concerts around the world. St. Martin’s Press released the hardcover of Oates’ memoir, Change of Seasons, in March 2017; the paperback will be released in 2018. Oates resides in Nashville.

Thomas Rhett Brings “Marry Me” To Country Radio

Photo courtesy of Valory Music Co.

Current American Music Awards nominee THOMAS RHETT’S newest single “Marry Me” ships to Country radio today, following a hot streak as “Craving You” and “Unforgettable” – the first two singles from his Billboard 200 chart-topper LIFE CHANGES (The Valory Music Co.) – soared to No. 1, each faster than the one before and with RIAA GOLD certification. Known for his “detailed style of songwriting” (Rolling Stone), Thomas Rhett often draws from personal experience when it comes to penning a new song, but for “Marry Me,” he flips the tables alongside hit co-writers Jesse Frasure, Ashley Gorley and Shane McAnally, presenting a non-autobiographical “heartbreaking twist” (Associated Press) to the track.

“‘Marry Me’ is one of my favorite tracks on the record,” said Thomas Rhett. “It’s my big ‘what if’ song. I wrote it from the perspective of if I had never told my wife how I felt about her all those years ago. I probably would have been sitting at her wedding watching her marry someone else. Heartbreaking thought and thankfully I DID tell her how I felt- but it makes for a great song concept that so many people can relate to.”

Thomas Rhett is set to perform LIVE from AT&T Stadium during the nationally televised halftime of the Dallas Cowboys game (3:30P CT/CBS) against the Los Angeles Chargers on Thanksgiving Day, kicking off The Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle Campaign. Donations to the campaign help provide shelter and meals for the homeless and hungry as well as Christmas toys for millions of children, in addition to numerous other social service programs The Salvation Army provides year-round.

In September, Thomas Rhett released his third album LIFE CHANGES, the biggest, boldest-sounding record of his career, filled with a diverse batch of songs united by the “consistency of their craft” (Variety) as he stretches his sound to new limits. Highlighting his “detailed style of songwriting” (Rolling Stone), the new release debuted at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, marking the first Country release to take the top spot in 2017. This week, he wrapped an electric run in the UK which included capacity venues in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast, marking 31 total sell outs on his in-demand debut headlining HOME TEAM TOUR this year. Thomas Rhett recently announced he’ll roll the momentum in to next year on his LIFE CHANGES TOUR 2018, set to kick off in April.
