Muve Music And Country Music Gives Back At CMA Music Festival

Cricket’s Muve Music® Connects Country Artists and Fans at CMA Music Festival
~ Cricket Sponsors Music City Gives Back Country Showcase with Wrangler and Daily Artist Meet and Greets at the Country Music Association Music Festival ~

NASHVILLE, Tenn., – June 4, 2012 – Cricket Communications, Inc., a leading provider of innovative and value-driven wireless services, is going country and taking its popular Muve Music service to Nashville’s 2012 CMA Music Festival.  Muve Music will be kicking off the four day music festival by sponsoring the “Music City Gives Back” event benefitting the American Red Cross. The innovative music service is also inviting fans to connect with country music’s top artists throughout the week with artist meet and greets, special playlists, an interactive booth in “The Buckle” on Broadway in downtown Nashville and more.  Muve Music is the first music service designed specifically for a wireless phone with approximately 600,000 customers to date.

Muve Music fans are increasingly consuming country music on the service and are always on the lookout for the new up and coming artists and bands in the genre. As Muve Music’s overall catalog of songs continues to grow, the service is also expanding its library of country music to meet the ever-growing demand.  Country music fans are not only listening to popular hits by award-winning country music artists, but also leveraging Muve Music’s unlimited music download platform to discover new country music artists as well.

“Connecting artists and fans is what Muve Music is all about and we’re thrilled to bring that experience to CMA Music Festival this year,” said Geoff Edds, senior manager, label management and artist programs for Muve Music.  “We’re also excited to partner with Music City Gives Back to present a great night of Country music for fans while raising money and awareness for a great cause.”

Muve Music’s rapid growth and momentum is due in part to its unique platform that allows artists to directly reach their fan base through exclusive content and promotions.  The service has a 90 percent customer satisfaction rate and user engagement has exceeded expectations. In its first year, customers played 1.5 billion songs on Muve Music averaging 260 million songs each month.  With approximately 600,000 subscribers, Muve Music is now the second largest digital music subscription service in the U.S., and the first designed for the mobile phone with both the consumer and the artists’ needs in mind.

“Muve Music rocks!” said country artist and upcoming host of the “Music City Gives Back” concert event, Rodney Atkins. “As an artist you want your fans to have easy access to your music and Muve makes it easy.”

Cricket Presents “Music City Gives Back”
Cricket has teamed up with Wrangler, Carl Black Chevrolet, and GAC to sponsor the second annual “Music City Gives Back” showcase benefitting the American Red Cross. The exciting event, hosted by Rodney Atkins in conjunction with the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau, was created to raise awareness and drive donations to the American Red Cross. As a lead sponsor, Cricket will be donating $50,000 to the cause.

The event is free to the public and will be held on Tuesday, June 5, at 5 p.m. on the outdoor stage on Broadway in downtown Nashville (between Second and Fourth avenues). Atkins will be joined on stage by an all-star lineup of top performing country artists including Clint Black, Thompson Square, Lee Brice, Josh Thompson, Jana Kramer, The Farm, Mallary Hope, and the Willis Clan. Donations to the American Red Cross can be made on-site and online by visiting http://american.redcross.org/musiccity.

Interactive Booth at CMA Music Festival, June 7-10, at The Buckle
Fans can experience Muve Music first hand at Cricket’s interactive booth located in the Buckle on Broadway in downtown Nashville. The booth located just outside the Riverfront stage will host fun giveaways throughout the week, and will be running a CMA Music Festival commemorative photo-op green screen experience where participants will be able to appear and share images of themselves with the likes of country sensations, such as Taylor Swift and Dolly Parton. Cricket will email the images real time so fans can post to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram instantly.

In addition, a professional DJ will be on-site inviting attendees to karaoke their favorite country tunes. With lyrics displayed on a 52’ TV monitor, consumers can either request a song of choice to sing, or play the Cricket “Finish the Song” challenge. The booth will also feature an interactive Cricket Muve Music trailer with a phone demo and festival-goers will also have the ability to purchase their own Muve Music device right from the booth.

Cricket Hosts CMA Music Festival Artist Meet and Greets at The Buckle
Throughout the week, artists will be dropping by the Muve Music tent to meet with fans attending the music festival. During the one hour meet and greets, artists will be onsite to chat directly with fans, answer questions, and to share insights on country music and how it resonates with the digital mobile music industry. In addition, fans will have the opportunity to take photos or bring gear for autograph signings.

For just $65 a month, Cricket customers across the country can now purchase the no contract wireless service that includes unlimited nationwide talk, text, web and unlimited music (full track downloads, ringtones and ringback tones) for their Cricket android smartphone. The Epitome of “Nashville’s Weekly Lawn Party” Rocks Centennial Park

Maggie McCormick, Jill Andrews, Chuck Mead And Jim Lauderdale Entertain Over 1,500 People

Musicians Corner

The crowd getting' down to Chuck Mead

Talk about the perfect day.  Not only did Musicians Corner set a new attendance record, but June 2nd in Centennial Park could not have been more beautiful. On the heels of the Tour de Fat, summertime was in the air as Maggie McCormick, Jill Andrews, Chuck Mead, Jim Lauderdale and others took the stage.

When I say perfect, I really mean it. Musicians Corner has become a hot spot for free music at “Nashville’s weekly lawn parties.” Saturday brought with it children playing everywhere, friendly dogs roaming about, people dancing and of course, great music.

Matthew Perryman Jones kicked off the day with a special guest appearance. A Musicians Corner friend, MPJ is a rising star in the Nashville underground. He put on a great performance in preparation for his Album release show later that night at Exit/Inn.

After Matthew and a shout out to our terrific sponsors by Executive Director John Tumminello, Maggie McCormick continued the festivities. Though used to playing with a full band, the solo performance by the beautiful songstress and killer guitar player was a great treat. She then brought on Jill Andrews who was next up on the main stage. While Jill sang, Maggie played, and together they performed a very smooth acoustic set.

Musicians Corner

Music legends Paul Worley and Chuck Mead backstage

The Lightning 100 Acoustic Stage acts were equally as impressive. First was the Devious Angels, a new country duo who performed in between the Maggie and Jill headlining sets. The second was pianist Jasi Misot.

After Jasi, the party was started. Chuck Mead, a founding member of BR-549 and his band The Grassy Knoll Boys had a large crowd dancing in front of the stage. As producer Paul Worley put it: “This guy has been kick ass for a long time!”

These guys seemed to play for quite a while. Maybe they did, or maybe it just seemed that way because we were having so much fun. But the party didn’t stop there. After an incredibly talented Shelly Colvin rocked the Acoustic Stage, country legend Jim Lauderdale closed out the day.

If this week seemed great, just wait until CMA Music Fest hits town next week! Musicians Corner has a great lineup including Lighter Ray and American Idol’s Bo Bice. Hope to see you there!

Musicians Corner is a non-profit program of The Conservancy for the Parthenon & Centennial Park. The spring season of runs every Saturday through June, and features great artists, special guests and fun activities. Album Review: Florida Georgia Line ‘It’z Just What We Do’

I know, I look like I just made a big typo in the title, right? ha  No, but I’ll readily admit that you’ll see a typo from me on occasion no matter HOW much I proofread! 🙂

‘It’z Just What We Do’ is the name of this brand new 5-song EP from up-and-coming country duo, Florida Georgia Line, comprised of Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard.  Released on iTunes just this week, it’s already doing quite well on the iTunes country chart and seems to be creating quite a buzz about this new duo.  There’s also sure to be more buzz created as they are embarking on the 2012 Country Throwdown Tour that features headliner Gary Allan along with Sunny Sweeney, Josh Thompson, Justin Moore, Eric Paslay, Rodney Atkins, and more artists.

This new EP is just plain fun to listen to.  It’s the type of music that is both catchy and just takes you away from your troubles for a bit.  I enjoyed the blending of their two voices together and found the album very easy to listen to.  Very radio-friendly.  I didn’t have to listen a second time to decide if I liked it or not, I just do and it immediately caught my interest.  I wouldn’t say the lyrics have deep emotional depth, but I found it to be very catchy combined with the excellent musicianship I heard on this new release.   There wasn’t a song that really pulled at my heartstrings, but overall I found this new release very enjoyable, filled with uptempo tunes, stellar production, and I imagine live that these guys are quite fun.   Plus, I’m sure all of the ladies will take quite an interest in them, too!

My favorite songs on the album are “Get Your Shine On” and “Tell Me How You Like It”.

Find them on iTunes and give them a listen!

Rated 4 out of 5 stars.

Check out this related article and listen to “Cruise” from the album HERE.

Production And Artist Development Company Artist Concepts Launches In Nashville

Artist Concepts partners Becky Harris, Anthony Smith and Chris Young sign Brinley Addington for artist representation

May 16, 2012 – Nashville, TN – No matter how big Nashville grows, as with all Music City connections, it’s still a very small town.  Successful business manager BECKY HARRIS, hit songwriter ANTHONY SMITH (“Tomorrow”) and RCA recording artist CHRIS YOUNG have teamed up to create ARIST CONCEPTS, a production and artist development company fostering up-and-coming talent in the music industry.  While all three partners will work to seek out top new talent, Smith will spearhead the search for music. Smith has produced acts in the past, however this will be Young’s first time to serve as co-producer. Harris has been tapped to handle the bookkeeping and business management for Artist Concepts.

After a lengthy search for fresh new talent, Artist Concepts’ new signing is Belmont alumnus and singer/songwriter BRINLEY ADDINGTON. Smith is currently accepting song submissions for the project at artistconcepts@yahoo.com. The team plans to take Addington into the studio within the next month to produce several sides to pitch to Nashville record labels with a showcase to be scheduled in the near future. Thanks to Harris’ introduction to veteran publisher Lisa Johnson, Addington has already signed a publishing contract with Razor & Tie. “We are very happy to have Brinley Addington in our Razor and Tie family and we are excited that he has the opportunity to work with such creatively talented pros as Anthony Smith and Chris Young,” shared Johnson.

Addington already has a busy schedule, recently opening several shows for Young, and has been added to the list of talent for the Blake Shelton & Friends Cruise setting sail this fall.  Find more information on Addington and to check out video clips and music samples, visit www.brinleyaddington.com and follow the singer on Twitter @Brinley_.

Additionally, Budweiser will be donating a portion of sales (April 20-July 7) to Folds of Honor Foundation. These programs are all part of an effort to raise as much as $2.5 million. The Fan Fair Hall Marketplace

Special mementos and unique fashions can be found in the Fan Fair Hall Marketplace featuring a variety of vendors including Apparel, The Charleston Soap Company, Dillards for the Reba Brand, Hillbilly Brand, Manuel, Mignon’s, Twisted Sisters, and more.

New Autograph Drawing

CMA recently announced new procedures for autograph seekers to enhance the overall Festival experience, improve safety, and make the process for securing a treasured autograph equitable for all Festival goers. The new system will be a drawing with online sign ups and advance notification, which will enable Festival goers to better schedule their time so they can attend concerts and take part in free events and activities rather than waiting in line in hopes of securing a signature. The advance sign-up system creates a level playing field for all fans to enter for their chance to win an autograph signing ticket.

Here is how it works: Individual booths will no longer distribute tickets for autograph signings each morning inside the Hall. Instead, fans will enter a random drawing for the opportunity to meet various artists appearing in the Fan Fair Exhibit Hall. Patrons will enter this drawing in advance of CMA Music Festival via an online entry form at CMAfest.com. Entering the drawing is easy:

Go to www.CMAfest.com anytime until May 28 (ending at 5:00 PM/CT).
Patrons enter their contact information and then select from the list of participating artists signing autographs in the Hall.
Patrons may select as few or as many of the artists listed to be entered to win a ticket for each respective signing.
Once the entry has been submitted, it can’t be changed. Duplicate entries will not be considered.
All winners will be notified on Friday, June 1 via email.

The confirmation emails will contain detailed information on which artist(s) the fan gets to meet as well as the date, time, and location of the signings inside the Fan Fair Hall, plus instructions on where, when, and how to retrieve autograph wrist bands inside the Nashville Convention Center.

Tickets for the Fan Fair Hall

CMA Music Festival four-day ticket holders aren’t the only lucky ones with access to the Fan Fair Hall. Tickets to visit the Fan Fair Hall cost $25 per ticket, per day; $20 if purchased with a ticket to one of the Nightly Concerts at LP Field. Tickets are available now through Ticketmaster.com (http://www.ticketmaster.com/Country-Music-Festival-tickets/artist/1711387). Tickets will also be available at the Nashville Convention Center at the Commerce Street entrance beginning Wednesday, June 6 from 9:00 AM-6:00 PM.
