From The Stage To The Hospital And A Courageous Return To The Stage With Purpose: The Story Of Charity Bomb And Strange 90s Nashville

Back in 2010, Matthew Leone, the bassist for rock band Madina Lake, could have never imagined the turn his life would take. Leone was in Chicago at the time when he heard a woman screaming for help and spotted her being attacked by a man with blood clearly visible. He knew that he had to do something to help in this dire situation.

Matthew Leone was able to subdue the attacker, but while he was calling the police, the man managed to free himself and brutally attacked the unsuspecting bassist leaving him with a fractured skull, broken nose, and fractured jaw. He ended up in the hospital in a coma for several days after that where doctors removed one-third of his skull to deal with the swelling he incurred from the beating. It took him several months to recover from his injuries.

Turns out, it was a domestic situation between a husband and wife after he accused her of cheating. Surprisingly, he was found not guilty in court. Something that could very easily turn anyone negative considering everything that that Leone went through and how his life had been effected.

After recovering from his injuries and dealing with this life-changing event, Leone had a new-found appreciation for life and a desire to make a difference by focusing on doing something positive. It was from this that Leone co-founded Charity Bomb with his twin brother, Nathan (lead singer of Madina Lake) and a lifelong friend in 2018.

Charity Bomb is an unconventional, disruptive charitable organization that marries passion, innovation and hard work to fundraise and produce custom benefit events for a variety of causes and charities.

From Charity Bomb, Strange 80s was launched in Los Angeles last year. Now, they are set to launch Strange 90s in Nashville tomorrow night.

Strange 90s Nashville—a benefit concert presented by Charity Bomb and AEG Presents.  Strange 90s Nashville will feature a confluence of musicians, songwriters, country artists and rock stars collaborating to perform the anthems of this golden decade in a real-life recreation of the era. Confirmed performers include Jeffrey Steele, Ira Dean (Trick Pony), Matt Warren, James Otto and Dez Dickerson (The Revolution), Leigh Nash (Sixpence None the Richer), Jennie Vee (Eagles of Death Metal), Nick Wheeler (The All American Rejects), A.Jay & Jeremy Popoff (Lit) and more.

October 31, 2019 (Los Angeles, CA) – YouTube Originals today revealed it is partnering with Coldplay on the launch of the group’s highly-anticipated eighth album, Everyday Life, with two exclusive livestream performances on November 22 beginning at 4:00 a.m. GMT (November 21 at 11:00 p.m. EST), only on YouTube. 

“Coldplay: Everyday Life – Live in Jordan” will take place in Amman, Jordan and mirror the two halves of the band’s double album: ‘Sunrise’ and ‘Sunset.’ The first livestream will begin at sunrise, premiering the new songs on YouTube just before their 12:00 a.m. EST debut on November 22. The second half of the album with be performed at sunset (9:00 a.m. EST). This will be the band’s first-ever performance in Jordan, and will reflect the middle eastern influences found throughout the album’s music and artwork.  

Reflecting upon the upcoming YouTube livestream, Coldplay said, “these two broadcasts have been our dream since we first started work on this album. It’s a bit impossible and a bit scary, like all the best dreams. YouTube is the perfect home for it.”  

“Coldplay: Everyday Life – Live in Jordan” will weave fans into the event’s build-up and the livestream itself by asking them and the YouTube community to submit videos for use in the broadcast.

Coldplay also recruited Portlandia’s Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein for an unusual and hilarious press conference to announce the Jordan events, which the band have posted on their YouTube Channel. 

The YouTube Originals livestream announcement comes on the heels of the news that Coldplay’s eighth album, Everyday Life, will arrive globally on Friday, November 22 via Parlophone / Atlantic on CD, vinyl, cassette and digital formats. Two songs from the album, Orphans and Arabesque, were released on October 24 and are available to download/stream everywhere now.

“Loretta Lynn: An All-Star Birthday Celebration Concert” Announced At Bridgestone Arena On April 1, 2019

Music icon Loretta Lynn will celebrate her birthday this April with a once-in-a-lifetime music event. On the heels of one of the most deeply personal albums of her career, Wouldn’t It Be Great (Legacy Recordings/Sony Music Entertainment), the 2019 GRAMMY nominee celebrates this year’s birthday being honored by her friends. Alan Jackson, Brandy Clark, Darius Rucker, Garth Brooks, George Strait, Jack White, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban, Little Big Town, Margo Price, Martina McBride, Miranda Lambert, Pistol Annies and Trisha Yearwood are among the first guests announced for “Loretta Lynn: An All-Star Birthday Celebration Concert” on Monday, April 1 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, produced by AEG Presents. WME & ENDEAVOR IMPACT Presents PARTY AT THE POLLS: A Concert And Voter Rally In Nashville

Today WME and Endeavor Impact presented a concert and voter turnout rally at the Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville followed by a ½-mile march to the Howard Office Building polling location for early voting.  The concert featured Sheryl Crow, Jason Isbell & Amanda Shires, Billy Ray Cyrus, Jonathan McReynolds, Lucie Silvas, Gabriel Kelley and March for Our Lives students. It also featured a surprise performance from Maren Morris. Almost 1,000 people showed up for today’s concert and marched to the polling station.

Old Dominion Play Bucket List Historic Ryman Auditorium Charity Show For “An Evening With Friends”

Tuesday night, acclaimed country band Old Dominion sold out and electrified the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville for their special headline show: “An Evening With Friends.” The gig raised a total of $40K for charity, with half of the proceeds benefitting the Opry Trust Fund  and the other half benefitting the Ryan Seacrest Foundation.
Old Dominion front man and 2017 ASCAP Artist Writer of the Year Matthew Ramsey said, “What an unforgettable night.  The Nashville community has given so much to us. Our lives have changed in ways we could never have imagined – so we felt like this show at the Ryman was a great way to start giving back. Lastly, Sam Hunt performed 2 songs with the band that included the #1 single “Make You Miss Me,” as well as “Ex To See,” both of which were co-written with Sam by Matthew Ramsey. Old Dominion also performed 19 additional songs during their 120 minute set covering all their #1 hit singles, fan favorites, and debuted two brand new song unreleased songs including the youthful, energetic “Make It Sweet” and the sentimental and spiritual “Smooth Sailing.”

The album also produced the singles “Written in The Sand” and “No Such Thing As a Broken Heart,” which also hit #1 on the Billboard Country Airplay and MediaBase charts.
