Completed Mural Encourages Fans to Check Their Voter Registration and Register to Vote.
NASHVILLE – October 11, 2019 – CMT will unveil its completed Voter Registration mural at tonight‘s “CMT Crossroads” taping featuring Halsey & Kelsea Ballerini at Ascend Amphitheater. The 12′ x 8′ ft. structure will be displayed outside the front gates of Ascend on 2nd Avenue in downtown Nashville where fans are encouraged to take photos and scan the accompanying QR code that will connect them to CMT’s voter registration site, cmt.turbovote.org. There, they can check their current voter registration, register and sign up to receive election alerts, so they stay up to date with local and national elections.

With only 63% of Tennesseans registered to vote, we plan to support this important initiative at all of our upcoming events, including next week’s ‘CMT Artists of the Year.'”
Local artist Valentina Harper began publicly drawing and painting the mural as part of CMT’s kick off of National Voter Registration Day on September 24. Now completed, the mural will be unveiled outside of Ascend Amphitheater on Friday, October 11 as fans begin lining up for the “CMT Crossroads” taping. Steep Canyon Rangers – Asheville, North Carolina’s GRAMMY winners and perennial Billboard chart-toppers – traveled to Nashville this past weekend with 12 members of its hometown Asheville Symphony to join Philadelphia soul legends Boyz II Men for the live debut of their collaborative single “Be Still Moses.” The performance, conducted by Michael Bearden (Lady Gaga, Mary J. “Be Still Moses” effortlessly contrasts the sonorous, bluegrass-flavored baritone of Steep Canyon Rangers’ Woody Platt with the timeless vocal arrangements that defined Boyz II Men’s stratospheric rise in the ’90s. The studio version was produced by Michael Selverne (who had the original idea for the project), Boyz II Men and Joe Mulvihill, and features Steep Canyon Rangers’ hometown Asheville Symphony, 12 of whose members also played on the live version from Nashville. It was released in August of this year, and coincided with the Rangers’ return to North Carolina-based Yep Roc Records.
“Be Still Moses” marks the beginning of a busy year-end for Steep Canyon Rangers, who are about to embark on an international tour with their frequent collaborator, banjoist and comedian Steve Martin on his upcoming dates with Martin Short. NASHVILLE – Country music legend Dolly Parton is returning to NBC and will perform at one of the most iconic stages in the world when “Dolly Parton: 50 Years at the Grand Ole Opry” airs Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 9-11 p.m. ET/PT
The special is a celebration of Parton’s 50 years as a member of the Grand Ole Opry. It will feature new interviews as well as a performance from Parton on the Opry stage where she’ll deliver some of her biggest hits in front of a live audience. In addition, her superstar friends – Dierks Bentley, Emmylou Harris, Chris Janson, Toby Keith, Lady Antebellum, Margo Price, Hank Williams Jr. and others – will also be on board to celebrate Parton’s career and perform.

The 90-minute special will feature LIVE performances from “2019 CMT Artists of the Year” honorees Carrie Underwood, Dan + Shay, Kane Brown, Thomas Rhett and “Breakout Artist of the Year” awardee, Ashley McBryde. “This Is Us” actress Chrissy Metz will debut a special performance in honor of first-time “CMT Artists of the Year” honoree, Luke Combs.
Two-time “CMT Artists of the Year” recipient Lady Antebellum will take the stage, as will country powerhouse Sam Hunt,to recognize previously announced “Artist of a Lifetime” recipient Reba McEntire, to celebrate her legendary success. Her award will be bestowed by fellow country music icon Vince Gill, who joins a growing list of presenters, including multi-media personality Bobby Bones, Johnny Galecki (“The Big Bang Theory”), philanthropist and wife of honoree Thomas Rhett, Lauren Akins, Lonnie Chavis (“This Is Us”), country duo Maddie & Tae and more for the 10th annual celebration.

(October 10, 2019) – Nashville resident and Olympic Gold Medalist SCOTT HAMILTON will return to the ice on November 24 at Bridgestone Arena for the fourth annual event with the biggest names in figure skating performing alongside the greatest names in music for a night the whole family will enjoy.
Nine-time GRAMMY Award winner SHERYL CROW joins Scott Hamilton as co-host for this year’s event. Crow and Hamilton, both cancer survivors, will be joined on stage for performances by GRAMMY winning artist KENNY LOGGINS, multi-platinum singer/songwriter GAVIN DEGRAW, lead singer of American Music Award-winning band MERCYME, BART MILLARD, JOHN ELEFANTE, former lead singer of KANSAS, and JOHNATHAN CAINof JOURNEY, backed by highly acclaimed Nashville touring, recording and songwriting veterans, SIXWIRE.
