Miranda Lambert’s PALOMINO Primed For Release This Friday, April 29

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – As lead single “If I Was A Cowboy” climbs the Top 20 at Country radio, reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year Miranda Lambert is set to release her eighth solo album, Palomino, this Friday, April 29 via Vanner Records/RCA Records Nashville/Sony Music Nashville. Pre-order / pre-save HERE.

“The making of this record has been one of the most fun and creative experiences of my career,” reflects the Texan songstress. “Luke Dick, Natalie Hemby and I went out to my farm in Tennessee in 2020 and started writing songs… We figured, while we have time, let’s get out to the country and see what happens. The first one we wrote was ‘Tourist’ and that set us on a path to create something with a bit of a theme. Since we couldn’t travel at the time, we decided to go on a journey through songs… I hope y’all are ready to travel with us wandering spirits and meet some cool characters with great stories.”

In the May print issue on stands now, Rolling Stone declares “Country music’s most ambitious artist keeps following her freewheeling spirit” on the new album, which displays “the country star’s reputation for stylistic risks” via “a multi-hued batch of songs about movement and characters who drift from place to place – sometimes because they want to, sometimes because they have to.” Yahoo Entertainment also offered early praise for Palomino, including the project in this week’s “It List” and noting that “this trailblazer once again confounds expectations and pushes musical boundaries.”

Visiting 30+ locations and countless characters along the way, the expansive 15-song project takes listeners on a freewheeling trek from the Mojave Desert to Battambang, Cambodia and everywhere in between. Lambert serves as a co-writer on 14 of the 15 songs, with the only outside cut arriving via a rousing cover of Mick Jagger’s “Wandering Spirit.”

With all seven of her previous solo albums debuting at No. 1 and recent collaborative project The Marfa Tapes earning her a sixth GRAMMY nod for Best Country Album, both Vulture and USA Today named Palomino among the most anticipated projects this year, with the latter recognizing the 37-time ACM Award winner’s “progressive sound” and celebrating her as “always a bit of a country maverick.”

Lambert will celebrate the release of the eagerly awaited album by kicking off a spring run of shows this week, including a headlining appearance at Nashville’s FirstBank Amphitheater on the eve of the album, before launching her co-headlining The Bandwagon Tour with Little Big Town in her home state of Texas next Friday, May 6.

About Miranda Lambert

Set for release April 29, Palomino, the eighth solo album from Vanner Records/RCA Nashville superstar Miranda Lambert, is the latest installment in a storied career that has spanned seven consecutive No. 1 solo albums, 10 No. 1 hit radio singles, more than 70 prestigious awards and countless sales certifications, earning the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year praise from NPR as “the most riveting country star of her generation.”

Following 2019’s critically acclaimed release of her GRAMMY Award-winning album, Wildcard, the Texas native ushered in her next musical era with the recent release of Palomino lead single “If I Was a Cowboy” (currently climbing the Top 20 at Country radio), while also adding her voice to Netflix’s new season of Queer Eye with inclusive anthem “Y’all Means All.” She is set to hit the road on The Bandwagon Tour with Little Big Town this spring and will kick off her Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas residency at the Zappos Theater at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in September.

In addition to Wildcard, the celebrated singer/songwriter’s lauded discography includes The Weight of These Wings (2016), Platinum (2014), Four The Record (2011), Revolution (2009), Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2007) and Kerosene (2005). She has also released three albums with her trio, the Pistol Annies, as well as 2021’s The Marfa Tapes, a critically acclaimed and GRAMMY-nominated, raw and intimate recording with collaborators Jack Ingram and Jon Randall.

The most decorated artist in the history of the Academy of Country Music, Lambert has earned 37 ACM Awards (including the current ACM Entertainer of the Year title and a record-setting nine consecutive Female Artist of the Year Awards), 14 CMA Awards, three GRAMMY Awards, the Nashville Symphony Harmony Award, ACM Gene Weed Milestone Award and ACM Song of the Decade Award, plus was named 2019’s RIAA Artist of the Year. She is the youngest artist ever to serve as the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum’s Artist in Residence, joining a legendary list of predecessors including Kris Kristofferson, Guy Clark, Tom T. Hall, Jerry Douglas and more.

Her clothing and cowboy boot collection, Idyllwind, is a private-label brand sold at all Boot Barn stores nationwide. For more information, visit www.idyllwind.com.

Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit has raised over $6 million since its inception in 2009. The Foundation’s mission is to promote the adoption of rescue pets, support animal shelters across the country, advance spay & neuter and assist with the transport of animals during times of natural disaster. NASHVILLE, TN (April 26, 2022) – With a passion for music and animals, TYLER RICH brings energy and empathic spirit to both. Last night (4/26) the California-raised, Nashville-rooted singer/songwriter led a round called WRITERS FOR RHINOS alongside ANDY ALBERT (Blake Shelton’s “She’s Got A Way With Words” + Dustin Lynch’s No. 1 “Good Girl”); CJ SOLAR (chart-toppers Morgan Wallen “Up Down” featuring Florida Georgia Line + Jameson Rodgers “Some Girls”); AIMP Nashville Songwriter Series class of 2019 EMILY FALVEY (Canadian No. 1 MacKenzie Porter’s “Seeing Other People” + upcoming cuts for Pitbull, Walker Hayes, Carly Pearce) and TRENT TOMLINSON (“Drunker Than Me,” “One Wing in the Fire,” “Just Might Have Her Radio On” + Brett Young’s No. 1 “In Case You Didn’t Know”). The esteemed tunesmiths sold out the annual event at The Listening Room in Nashville, which supports rhino conservation in partnership with the Nashville Chapter of the American Association of Zookeepers, Rich Rescues and Nashville Zoo Roar Corps. Donate here.

“Now in our third year, we could not be more thrilled to have such a talented group of musicians lend their voices to help save an endangered species. WRITERS FOR RHINOS is such an important fundraising event for our mission to protect Rhinos for generations to come, and we want to express our sincere gratitude to Tyler, Andy, CJ, Emily, Trent and all who joined for this special event,” said ASHLEY COLLIER-MEDLEY, WRITERS FOR RHINOS Founder.

Tyler has commanded the charts with three No. 1 hits on SiriusXM’s The Highway and has amassed over 365 million global streams with his GOLD-certified single “The Difference,” TikTok earwarm “Better Than You’re Used To” and The Cadillac Three’s Jaren Johnston-produced “A Little Bit of You.” His music embodies the feelings all people have in common – the need for acceptance, devotion and a place to call their own. That compassionate outlook extends to animals too with an initiative he began while on tour to raise awareness for pet adoption called with Rich Rescues.

“I’ve never tried to save a Rhino, but I’m happy to be a part of it. They are kind of like Pitbull unicorns,” said Tyler jovially addressing the capacity room. “In all seriousness, the need to protect animals whether it be at your local shelter or more exotic species across the globe is real and a big reason I started Rich Rescues to advocate out on tour. Any time I can support this cause, I’m all in.”

About Folds of Honor
It began with Lieutenant Colonel Dan Rooney’s flight home from his second tour of duty in Iraq. An F-16 fighter pilot in the Oklahoma Air National Guard, he became painfully aware of the realities families face when a loved one in uniform is fallen or disabled. As his flight landed, the pilot announced they carried the remains of Corporal Brock Bucklin on board. Lt. Colonel Rooney watched as Corporal Bucklin’s twin brother walked somberly alongside the flag-covered casket to meet his family on the tarmac. Among them was the deceased Corporal’s young son, Jacob. Since that night, Lt Col Rooney has committed his life – through the Folds of Honor – to provide scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members. Jacob Bucklin became the first Folds of Honor scholarship recipient in 2007.

Luke Combs accepts the Entertainer of the Year Award at “The 55th Annual CMA Awards,” on Wednesday, November 10, 2021; live on ABC from Bridgestone Arena in Downtown Nashville.

Luke Combs, who performed his brand new single “Doin’ This,” received the night’s top honor of CMA Entertainer of the Year, a first for the artist. Sharing that he was at a loss for words, especially after hearing presenter Alan Jackson say his name, twice, Combs acknowledged all of this year’s artists in the category before saying, “I don’t deserve to win it, but I’m sure as hell glad that I did.”

Chris Stapleton and Mike Henderson accept the Song of the Year award for “Starting Over” at “The 55th Annual CMA Awards,” on Wednesday, November 10, 2021; live on ABC from Bridgestone Arena in Downtown Nashville..

Chris Stapleton was the night’s biggest winner, taking home four wins for CMA Album, Single, Song and Male Vocalist of the Year, while also being recognized for his work as a producer on his album and single. In addition to Stapleton, producer Dave Cobb and mix engineer Vance Powell earned two awards for CMA Album and Single of the Year, while songwriter Mike Henderson earned a trophy for CMA Song of the Year.

Brothers Osborne perform “Younger Me” at “The 55th Annual CMA Awards,” on Wednesday, November 10, 2021; live on ABC from Bridgestone Arena in Downtown Nashville.

Brothers Osborne won CMA Vocal Duo of the Year, as T.J. Osborne graciously took to the stage to proclaim, “It really does feel like love wins tonight.” Jimmie Allen, who performed “Freedom Was a Highway,” received CMA New Artist of the Year, tearfully taking the stage to share that five years ago, he spent his last $100 to purchase a ticket to attend “The 50th Annual CMA Awards,” just to see his hero Charley Pride perform.

Chris Stapleton and Jennifer Hudson perform a medley of “Night Life” / “You are My Sunshine” at “The 55th Annual CMA Awards,” on Wednesday, November 10, 2021; live on ABC from Bridgestone Arena in Downtown Nashville.

In one of the most emotional acceptance speeches of the night, Carly Pearce was brought to tears upon winning CMA Female Vocalist of the Year for the first time, as fellow nominee Ashley McBryde helped her to the stage. Old Dominion continues their reign as CMA Vocal Group of the Year, having now won four years in a row.

Winners announced prior to the live broadcast include Kelsea Ballerini and Kenny Chesney, taking home trophies for both CMA Musical Event of the Year and CMA Music Video of the Year for their collaboration “half of my hometown.” The song was produced by Ballerini, Ross Copperman and Jimmy Robbins, and the music video was directed by Patrick Tracy. Jenee Fleenor took home the trophy for CMA Musician of the Year. See below for the full list of this year’s winners.

“Country Music as an artform has always been about storytelling, and this year’s CMA Awards broadcast, from performances to acceptance speeches, featured an incredibly wide range of stories—deeply personal stories, unifying stories, and fun and lighthearted stories,” says Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “That is what makes this genre truly special, and we are so proud to have provided a platform for all of the incredible artists featured on this year’s CMA Awards to share their authentic selves with viewers around the globe. There was something poetic about returning to our home at Bridgestone Arena this year, and I am positive that I am not alone in wanting to relive the evening’s many magical moments.”

Miranda Lambert, the most-nominated female in CMA Awards history, kicked off the night with a career-spanning retrospective of her greatest hits that brought the crowd to their feet as host Luke Bryan took the stage. After greeting his fellow nominees and friends seated at tables in the audience, Bryan was surprised by his “American Idol” co-judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, poking fun at his hosting abilities. Bryan later performed his new single “Up.”

Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Katy Perry present the Song of the Year award at “The 55th Annual CMA Awards” on Wednesday, November 10, 2021; live on ABC from Bridgestone Arena in Downtown Nashville.

Award-winning singer and actress Jennifer Hudson captivated the audience with her first-ever CMA Awards performance of “Night Life,” a song originally written and recorded by Willie Nelson and later recorded by Aretha Franklin, followed by a show-stopping surprise duet with Stapleton of “You Are My Sunshine,” the Jimmie Davis-penned classic that both Franklin and Nelson also recorded. Stapleton also performed a stirring rendition of his song “Cold.”

Mickey Guyton, Brittney Spencer, and Madeline Edwards perform “Love My Hair” at “The 55th Annual CMA Awards,” on Wednesday, November 10, 2021; live on ABC from Bridgestone Arena in Downtown Nashville.

Mickey Guyton, Brittney Spencer and Madeline Edwards shared an empowering performance of Guyton’s new song “Love My Hair,” which received a standing ovation. The performance was introduced by 14-year-old activist Faith Fennidy, a young Black girl who, in 2018, left her 6th grade classroom in tears after school officials complained that her hairstyle violated school policy. Fennidy is now an inspiration behind the CROWN Act, created to ensure protection against discrimination based on race-based hairstyles

In one of the night’s most touching moments, Brothers Osborne took the stage to perform “Younger Me,” a reassuring message of hope and strength to the younger version of oneself. Following a cold introduction, T.J. Osborne, who in February of 2021 publicly came out as gay, spoke about watching the CMA Awards for years and thinking how incredible it would be to be on the stage speaking his truth despite feeling that it would never be possible because of his sexuality. “I just wish, I wish my younger me could see me now.”

In true CMA Awards fashion, artists delivered once-in-a-lifetime collaborations throughout the night. Pearce and McBryde performed their heartachingly beautiful duet “Never Wanted to Be That Girl,” while Chris Young and Kane Brown brought the crowd to their feet with their chart-topping, smalltown ode “Famous Friends.” Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood delivered the world television premiere of their recent No. 1 hit “If I Didn’t Love You,” and Dierks Bentley welcomed BRELAND and HARDY on stage for “Beers On Me.”

Keith Urban took to the streets of downtown Nashville, performing his new single “Wild Hearts” while walking down Broadway into Bridgestone Arena. Eric Church brought his nostalgic song “Heart On Fire” to the CMA Awards stage. Blake Shelton performed his new single “Come Back as a Country Boy.” And Zac Brown Band delivered a unifying message with their song “Same Boat.”

Rounding out the evening, Gabby Barrett, Dan + Shay, Old Dominion, and Thomas Rhett also delivered stellar performances for CMA Awards viewers.

Country artist Russell Dickerson, in partnership with Chevrolet, shared the inspirational story of Sarah Frei before inviting her to join him on stage to honor the CMA Foundation’s 30 Music Teachers of Excellence sitting in the audience. The moving segment brought the room to their feet.
