CMT and Sandbox Productions announce “THE JUDDS: LOVE IS ALIVE – THE FINAL CONCERT” on Thursday, November 3rd at MTSU’s iconic Murphy Center, recreating The Judds 1991 Farewell Tour for televised special.

Wynonna to headline history-making concert event with Ashley McBryde, Brandi Carlile.

Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town, Martina McBride and more, airing March 2023.

MTSU kicks off 50th anniversary milestone with Wynonna’s homecoming return for largest event at Murphy Center in over 30 years.

Tickets on-sale at 2:00PM CT here, with a portion of proceeds benefiting NAMI Tennessee.

NASHVILLE, TN – (October 26, 2022) – Today, CMT and Sandbox Productions announced country music legend Wynonna Judd will headline a history-making concert event with “THE JUDDS: LOVE IS ALIVE – THE FINAL CONCERT” on Thursday, November 3rd at the Murphy Center at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), recreating The Judds 1991 Farewell Tour for a special televised event airing in March 2023 on CMT. Wynonna’s current tourmates Ashley McBryde, Brandi Carlile, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town and Martina McBride are also slated to join, sharing the same bill for the first time ever; additional special guests to be announced. Tickets are on-sale today at 2:00PM CT here, with a portion of proceeds benefiting NAMI Tennessee.

The Judds homecoming to MTSU will mark the largest concert to take place at the iconic Murphy Center since Wynonna and her mother, Naomi Judd, had their final show together on The Judds Farewell Tour  over three decades ago. The made-for-television event also serves as the kick off to the venue’s year-long 50th anniversary celebration.

The news of “THE JUDDS: LOVE IS ALIVE – THE FINAL CONCERT” was revealed earlier today by Wynonna herself during an intimate press luncheon at Fox & Locke restaurant in Leipers Fork, Tennessee, alongside CMT and Sandbox Productions event producers and representatives from MTSU.

“Stepping onstage at the Murphy Center for the first time since Dec. 4th, 1991 will be so surreal for me. It was an emotional night over 30 years ago and will be an emotional night, for different reasons, now,” said Wynonna. “I can’t wait to lean into the nostalgia with the artists who have made this tour so special, and recreate one of the most iconic nights in Judd “Herstory!””

“It’s serendipitous magic on so many levels to be able to capture Wynonna’s return to the Murphy Center, almost exactly 31 years to the date. And it’s especially meaningful as an MTSU alum to produce such a landmark event, working hand in hand with the university’s faculty and staff to have their students actively participate in the production in its entirety,” said Margaret Comeaux, Executive Producer & SVP of Production, Music & Events, CMT. “We are also extremely excited to collaborate once again with our amazing partners at Sandbox to present a true Judds event spectacular that has been decades in the making, and continue to tell the next chapter in Wynonna’s story.”

“I remember when I was 15 years old, watching The Judds 1991 Farewell Concert on repeat when it first came out on Pay-Per-View. This is such an incredible, full circle moment to reproduce that same iconic special with Wy, and having her joined by all the powerhouse women she has brought with her on tour,” said Sandbox Productions’ Jason Owen, Executive Producer. “I’m so excited for everyone to watch – and for the incredible legacy of The Judds to live on forever.”

“What is most compelling about the Judds’ music is that it captures the love between two women. The Murphy Center event will allow us all to celebrate that love. After all, it was love that built a bridge between the Judds and their audience,” added Beverly Keel, Dean of the College of Media and Entertainment, MTSU. “It is love that connects the family of country music females and strengthens them as they work to make their voices heard.”

As announced earlier this week, The Judds: The Final Tour will continue for a second run into 2023, following its initial 11 date area tour with Ashley McBryde, Brandi Carlile, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town, Martina McBride all set to return for select dates, with more special guests to be announced. For more information, visit TheJudds.com.

“THE JUDDS: LOVE IS ALIVE – THE FINAL CONCERT” is a co-production from CMT and Sandbox Productions; Margaret Comeaux (CMT), Jason Owen (Sandbox) and Patrizia DiMaria (Ladypants Productions) are Executive Producers. The Executives in Charge of Production are Jackie Barba and Heather D. Graffagnino. Leslie Fram is Executive in Charge of Talent. Shanna Strassberg and Donna Duncan are Talent Producers.

About The Judds:

Wynonna and Naomi Judd brought a fresh acoustic sound to country music, with unmistakable harmonies surrounding Wynonna’s powerful lead vocals and Naomi’s unshakable creative drive. The Judds are often celebrated for a rarely-interrupted stretch of 14 No. 1 hits when every single of theirs released by RCA landed in the Billboard Top 10; and a career that defined what it means to be individualists in the music business. The Judds dominated touring in the 80s with 20 Top 10 hits, have sold more than 20 million albums and blazed a trail for duos and women who have followed them. Together, The Judds have 16 Gold, Platinum, and multi-Platinum albums and longform videos, led by 2x Platinum albums Why Not Me and The Judds Greatest Hits. Their stripped-back style revived the popularity of acoustic sounds in country music and opened up the genre for more traditional approaches.

About The Murphy Center:

The Nov. 3 Judds concert will become the centerpiece of Middle Tennessee State University’s yearlong celebration of the 50th anniversary of its iconic Murphy Center, which opened on Dec. 11, 1972. The “Glass House” is home to MTSU men’s and women’s basketball as well as university and high school graduation ceremonies, concerts and state high school basketball championships. For more than two decades, it was the Nashville area’s premier entertainment venue, hosting The Judds’ nationally televised farewell concert in 1991, as well as five Elvis Presley performances and concerts by superstars such as Elton John, The Who, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, the Beach Boys, Johnny Cash and the Eagles. MTSU announced the completion of a $6 million renovation project for the facility earlier this month, which officials hope will better position the facility to attract future concerts.

About MTSU:

NBC News called MTSU a “Grammy-winner factory” in 2019 in the wake of alumni, students’ and staffers’ multiple nominations and wins from the industry’s top honor MTSU alumni, former or current students, and faculty from across the university have been a part of more than 134 Grammy Award nominations in the last two decades. The number of MTSU-connected Grammy winners since 2001 currently stands at 15 with a total of 37 Grammys, including nine repeat recipients, in categories from classical to pop to rock to country to gospel. MTSU’s Department of Recording Industry — and the College of Media and Entertainment that houses it — marked in 2022 the seventh year on Billboard‘s latest international list of top music business schools, once again earning acclaim for the program’s diversity, depth and longevity.

Elf On The Shelf’s New Theme Song…Not Really (and your new fave)

Let’s talk about working class fairness – “elf awareness,” if you will. Meet “The Elf Song,” Crowder’s laugh-out-loud ode to the working class of the North Pole – one that is sure to become a festive family favorite, with adults and children, alike, singing along to pay tribute to those who work 24/7 in their pointy shoes, building all the toys for millions of children around the world – with no 401k in sight, just candy cane wages and overtime raises in the form of Christmas cookies.

This is just one of many holiday originals featured on Crowder’s new album, “Milk & Cookies: A Merry Crowder Christmas,” which released last Friday and features one of the most eclectic holiday track-lists to date – with creative collaborations with Country Music Hall of Fame member Ricky Skaggs and NF’s longtime producer/collaborator, Tommee Profitt. Listen to the full album here: https://crowder.lnk.to/MilkAndCookiesPR

P.S. it’s the unofficial theme song… catchy, right?

Morgan Evans Releases Vulnerable Single “Over For You”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (October 19, 2022) – Just a few short weeks ago, Morgan Evans captivated his home country audience at CMC Rocks QLD Festival where he debuted his brand new song “Over For You.” The crowd of 25,000+ were on the edge of their seats as Evans delivered each line for the first time. Due to increasingly high demand, the studio version of the personal and vulnerable single is available everywhere today, impacting country radio immediately (LISTEN HERE).

“I recorded this vocal on the same day we wrote the song,” said Evans. “It was a difficult time in my life and writing this helped me process a lot of what I was going through. I’d like to thank everyone that has reached out the last few weeks, both those with messages of support and those sharing their own stories.”

Fans couldn’t get enough of the emotional track, written by Evans, Madison Love, Geoff Warburton and One Love. Uploads of the live performance had received hundreds of thousands of views on social media within the first few days following, prompting “Over For You – Live in Melbourne” to be recorded and released to DSPs last week (LISTEN HERE). Watch the Melbourne performance HERE.

The media jumped on the live performance including Us Weekly, E!, The Bobby Bones Show and more, with Billboard proclaiming, “many of the best songs come from heartbreak, and this is absolutely one of Evans’ best releases to date.” People observed that Evans appeared to be “channeling his heartbreak into song,” with Taste of Country noting “fans [were] voicing their empathy from the crowd.” CMT said Evans “places his heart on the line” in the raw ballad, stating it is “destined to tug at heartstrings worldwide.”

Powerhouse Country Star Lauren Alaina Inks Deal With Big Loud Records

Lauren Alaina Signs With Big Loud Records | Image by Chris Hornbuckle
(L-R): Patch Culbertson (GM/SVP, Big Loud Records), Austen Adams (COO, Big Loud), Seth England (Partner/CEO, Big Loud), Candice Watkins (SVP of Marketing, Big Loud Records), Lauren Alaina, Trisha McClanahan (Manager, McClanahan Management), T. D. Ruth (Partner, Serling Rooks Hunter McKoy Worob & Averill LLP), Stacy Blythe (SVP of Promotion, Big Loud Records), Joey Moi (Partner/Producer)

NASHVILLE, TENN. – Bolstering its roster of chart-breaking hit-makers, innovative independent label Big Loud Records proudly announces the signing of platinum-selling recording artist and Grand Ole Opry member, Lauren Alaina.

“We feel like Lauren is absolutely one of the best vocalists, male or female, in this town,” Big Loud CEO/Partner Seth England shares with Billboard exclusively. “Certainly, she’s had success, but we humbly think she has barely scratched the surface of what we think we can do together. Lauren Alaina deserves to be, in my opinion, on the same pedestal as Carrie Underwood, and it’s our job to help her find that mode.”

With an arsenal of accolades and a fresh vision for what’s to come, Alaina’s next chapter aligns smoothly with Big Loud’s ethos – even down to the name.

“I got a label that matches my personality: big, loud, and country,” Alaina shares with Billboard, calling her new partner her “dream label.” “I really want to tap into my country roots. I don’t think people remember like how Southern I am…I’m a country girl through and through.”

Launching a new era, the three-time chart-topping ACM and CMT award winner joins the Big Loud roster at an all-time career high. Musically, Alaina is surging, dropping her deeply personal album Sitting Pretty On Top of the World last September, and most recently duetting with now labelmate Chris Lane on “Dancin’ In The Moonlight,” their reimagination of King Harvest‘s 1973 hit of the same name.

Outside of music, Alaina has become one of country’s most in-demand entertainers, appearing on CBS’ Beyond The Edge, ABC’s Dancing With The Stars, among countless other national TV performances. Tallying additional outstanding career moments, Alaina is a celebrity brand ambassador for Maurices, an artist ambassador for the CMA Foundation, an Amazon best-selling author, a Hallmark movie star, and a foundation-starting philanthropist. Rolling Stone puts it simply: “there’s a reason Lauren Alaina manages to stay top of mind.”

This summer, Alaina follows up her second career headlining tour with notable festival stops at Faster Horses, Watershed, Tidalwave Music Festival, and more, alongside performances at the Grand Ole Opry through the end of the year. With Alaina’s “career on a seemingly limitless upward trajectory” (American Songwriter), fans can expect new music in 2022.

“(I want to) make music that I’m really proud of with a team that I’m really proud of,” she says. “I want to do as much as I can do in the next 10 years. And I’d probably like to also get married and have some kids. So, I want to be able to balance all of that in the next 10 years. I think it’s gonna be the biggest 10-year span of my life so far.”

ABOUT LAUREN ALAINA

Grand Ole Opry member and multi-platinum-selling singer/songwriter Lauren Alaina has earned three No. 1 hit singles in just under three years with her smash “Road Less Traveled” (2017), the now 7x platinum “What Ifs” (2018) with her childhood friend and superstar Kane Brown (his first career No. 1), and “One Beer” (2020) with friend and rising star HARDY (also his first career No. 1). Carly Pearce Crushes CMA Fest

NASHVILLE, TN / PITTSBURGH, PA (June 16, 2022) – It was like something from The Beatles’ “A Hard Day’s Night.” Locked in for all dates on Kenny Chesney’s wildly successful HERE AND NOW 2022 Tour, for record-breaking stadium shows and amphitheaters, the ACM and CMA Awards Female Artist/Vocalist of the Year’s commitment to the fans saw Pearce roll straight offstage from their nightly “You & Tequila” duet at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, OH to Nashville for a non-stop CMA Fest experience!

Appearing on the CMA Close Up Stage for a brief performance and interview with revered journalist Marissa Moss, she then hit the Big Machine Store & Distillery for a fan Q&A before jetting over to SiriusXM’s Happy Hour at Margaritaville. Next up, the impossibly chic Noelle hosted Carly’s Closet pop-up store to benefit the Music Health Alliance. With items from Opry appearances, her “Next Girl” music video, and even the pink shoes Pearce wore when she won her very first ACM Award, she humbly greeted fans as they purchased accessories, dresses and other articles worn during significant milestones. Several bursting into tears as they shared their own stories, Pearce hugged and posed for pictures during the special afternoon. With TalkShopLive providing an online opportunity for fans not in Nashville, Pearce raised $10,356 dollars for the Music Health Alliance, which fills in gaps and solves healthcare-related issues for the people who make music happen.

“I wanted to keep the prices to where people could buy the things and not be afraid to wear them,” Pearce said. “But I also wanted those shoes, clothes and things that were part of my journey to create something more. Music Health Alliance has changed the fate of so many people onstage and behind the scenes, who better to give back to?”

“Carly Pearce has been one of classic country music’s strongest allies, from the Opry to the Hall of Fame,” says Music Health Alliance Founder & CEO TATUM ALLSEP. “But her commitment to the people who make the music, their health and ability to care for their loved ones makes us even prouder to call her our ally, because it’s artists like Carly who make Music Health Alliance strong.”

As celebrations and memories piled on throughout the day, the biggest moment for the recent Grand Ole Opry inductee and Kentucky Music Hall of Fame electee was to come with her own fan experience at Nissan Stadium. For a girl who left home at 16 to pursue her Country music dream, Pearce was elated to invite fellow Kentuckian Wynonna to the stage for an unannounced performance of “Why Not Me?” Clad in a pink mini dress, Pearce told the sold-out crowd how much the iconic vocalist meant to hear – and then Judd emerged from the wings for a performance picked up around the world.

“Wynonna freaking Judd!” Pearce marveled. “If you’d told my little 12-, 13-year old self that one day I’d stand onstage with one of the sheroes of my childhood and sing one of The Judds songs with her, I’d’ve fallen over. I mean, not only is she one of the greatest singers who ever lived, but those songs!”

Judd signaled her approval with a social media post that read: “I love @carlypearce and Carly loves me. The end. #carryingthetorch #proud

Pearce finished and boarded her tour bus, racing to make her load-in for at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field.

Having performed “What He Didn’t Do” during the set, telling the 53,000+ fans her song was going to radio on Monday, her latest slice of truth ended up being the week’s #1 Most Added song at stations nationwide. With her third No. 1 “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” recently topping the charts, Country radio’s response after such a whirlwind weekend moved her.

“There’s real hope in seeing the things you deserve,” Pearce said. “We all need these reminders. It’s why I wanted this to be the last single from 29: Written in Stone. But for country radio to embrace it this way, I am so grateful for their support – and recognizing what this emotion means to people listening.”
