CHARM Foundation Announces Back To School Bash 2018

Set to be Held Saturday, August 4th at the
Martha O’Bryan Center in East Nashville

The CHARM Foundation will hold their annual Back To School Bash on Saturday, August 4th at the Martha O’Bryan Center in East Nashville. Each year, the CHARM “ Back To School Bash” helps children to prepare for the school year by providing them with school supplies. These resources will help children get off to a great start for the school year with free backpacks, hygiene kits, health screenings, school supplies, dental screenings, haircuts and more.

The CHARM Foundation is founded by Jaclyn Stapp, philanthropist, award-winning children’s author, mother, and wife of Grammy award winning singer Scott Stapp of Creed.  Growing up with humble beginnings, Jaclyn started CHARM at 17 years old as a way to give back to the community. The organization has been profiled by People Magazine, The Dr. OZ Show, ABC News, Good Morning America and more.

“ Children need to be protected and nurtured,” Jaclyn says. “ We can all make a difference in a child’s life by encouraging and instilling confidence and providing them with the basic resources to give them a chance to succeed. I am extremely proud and happy to meet with our Nashville community to help support their educational needs. My heartfelt thanks to the Charm Committee, Martha O’Bryan Center and everyone else involved in this year’s event.”

Jaclyn will be appearing on WSMV NBC’s Today In Nashville on Wednesday July 25th. Tune in to hear more from Jaclyn on this year’s exciting Back To School Bash.

CHARM strongly believes that every child deserves an equal opportunity to succeed and prepare for their future. More than 16 million kids in the U.S live in extreme poverty and arrive on that first day of school without the supplies they need to learn. CHARM foundation partners with select organizations, churches and corporations to deliver supplies and resources at the CHARM annual drive. This year’s sponsors: Nashville Metro Police, Tennessee Titans, Prime Healthcare,  Nesheiwat Law Group, Turnip Truck, Greko Greek Street Food, United Way, & more.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘The Phantom Of The Opera’ Returns To TPAC Oct. 24 – Nov. 4 In Spectacular New Production By Cameron Mackintosh

Cameron Mackintosh’s spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera makes a triumphant return to Nashville for a two- week engagement at Tennessee Performing Arts Center’s Jackson Hall Oct. 24 through Nov. 4, 2018.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, July 27, at 10 a.m. at TPAC.org, by phone at 615-782-4040 and at the TPAC Box Office, 505 Deaderick St., in downtown Nashville. For groups of 10 or more, call 615-782-4060.

Andrew Lloyd Webber said, “Having received great critical acclaim in the U.K. and North America, I am really pleased that Laurence Connor’s new production of Phantom will continue to tour the U.S., playing in tandem with the Broadway production which just celebrated 30 years at the Majestic Theatre.”

Cameron Mackintosh said, “With Phantom still the reigning champion as the longest-running production on Broadway after 30 phenomenal years with no end in sight, I’m delighted that this spectacular new production of Phantom has been as well-received in the U.S. as the brilliant original and has already been seen by more than 3.7 million people across North America since it opened in November 2013. With an exciting new design and staging, retaining Maria Björnson’s amazing costumes, the new Phantom is thrilling audiences and critics alike all over again. With the production continuing to be such a success, we are delighted to welcome our exciting new stars to keep the music of the night soaring for many years to come.”

This spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera is presented by Cameron Mackintosh, The Really Useful Group, and NETworks Presentations. Directed by Laurence Connor (who co-directed the new production of “Les Misérables” on tour across North America after a hugely successful revival on Broadway, directed the award-winning new production of “Miss Saigon” that played London’s West End, Broadway, and a new national tour in 2018, and also directed the stage version of the movie “School of Rock,” now playing on Broadway, in London’s West End, and on North American Tour), with choreography by Scott Ambler, set design by Paul Brown, Tony Award®-winning original costume design by Maria Björnson, lighting design by Tony Award®-winner Paule Constable, sound design by Mick Potter, and musical supervision by John Rigby. The production is overseen by Matthew Bourne and Cameron Mackintosh. The Phantom of the Opera: music by Andrew Lloyd Webber; lyrics by Charles Hart (with additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe); book by Richard Stilgoe and Andrew Lloyd Webber; orchestrations by David Cullen and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Based on the classic novel “Le Fantôme de L’Opéra” by Gaston Leroux, The Phantom of the Opera tells the story of a masked figure who lurks beneath the catacombs of the Paris Opera House, exercising a reign of terror over all who inhabit it. He falls madly in love with an innocent young soprano, Christine, and devotes himself to creating a new star by nurturing her extraordinary talents and by employing all of the devious methods at his command.

Cameron Mackintosh’s brilliant original production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera continues performances at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London and in its record-breaking run at the Majestic Theatre on Broadway, and many other cities around the world.

Cledus T. Judd Is Baaaaaack!

Six years after hanging up his overalls, Cledus T. Judd is “strate outta retarment” and funnier than ever with “My Weight’s Goin’ Up Down,” a parody of Morgan Wallen’s #1 Country single “Up Down” featuring Florida Georgia Line. A 15-second sneak peak of the video garnered over 15,000 views in a matter of minutes, and the full clip will premiere on CMT Music and CMT.com on Friday, July 27, 2018.

The clip pulls no punches in the weight-loss world, and nutrition is reserved strictly for the kids. Cledus scarfs down fried chicken, hot dogs, burgers, ice cream, sweet tea and more, while the kids are forced to eat mystery health food. He saved on casting enlisting the same kids – including his daughter – to star in several scenes.

The video will begin airing on numerous outlets beginning Saturday, July 28, and the “My Weight’s Goin’ Up Down” is currently available at iTunes, Spotify, Amazonand all download and streaming services.

Country Music’s master of parodies walked away from writing, touring and releasing music in 2012. His successful career included nine studio albums, two EPs and no less than 25 music videos. No one was immune to his wit, sarcasm and often self-deprecating humor on songs like “I Love NASCAR,” “My Cellmate Thinks I’m Sexy,” “Did I Shave My Back For This?” and celebs such as Toby Keith, Shania Twain, Trace Adkins, Joe Diffie, Dena Carter and Montgomery Gentry starred in his videos. He toured with the likes of Brooks & Dunn, Brad Paisley, Trace Adkins, Toby Keith and others.

The life of stardom had a downside for Cledus, as constant partying led to drug addiction. He credits the birth of his daughter, now 14, for leading him to a clean life and a dedication to spending more time with his family. His self-imposed exile began a process of healing. He kept a hand in the business as a co-host of the WTCR morning radio show out of Huntington, West Virginia.

“I left Nashville behind,” said Cledus.“I focused mostly on my daughter and my morning radio show, but after I would get off in the mornings my daughter would be at school I became bored. I’m a creative soul and there was nothing to feed it. I tried to find any kind of work I could after my show,”he recounts. “I’d buy and remodel dilapidated houses. Then, when I came home, covered in dirt and soot, coughing up coal, I’d think, ‘Man if Kix and Ronnie could see me now!”

A year or so ago Ray Stevens asked him to open for him one night in Renfro Valley, Kentucky. “Ray is my idol, so I did it,” Cledus says. After his set, the whole room -over 1500 people – gave him a standing ovation. When he got off the stage, Ray asked him why he retired. He said, “Well, Ray, I just didn’t feel like I had much relevance anymore.” Then Ray said, “Well, 1500 fans just stood up for you out there. I think you’re relevant.”

Encouragement from his daughter helped make the decision to jump back into music. “Dad, if you’re gonna go stand on the back of a hay truck and sing funny songs to make money, I would rather you stay home and be with me. But if you’re going to change people’s lives, I’ll be waiting for you when you get home.

“Besides,” she added, “we’re sick of watching your old YouTube videos. Go out and make some new ones, and besides I’ll need a Ferrari in a few years.”

Cledus headed back to Nashville to write songs, both serious and humorous. Brantley Gilbert picked up one of them, “Three Feet Of Water,” for his 2017 album The Devil Don’t Sleep.

Friends cheered him on. Fans flooded his Facebook with their approval. Old and new have welcomed him back. An email to Cledus from CMT’s Leslie Fram speaking for them all: “YOU ARE BACK! I love it. You are a genius!”

Yes, Cledus T. Judd — playful satirist, unforgettable entertainer, skillful writer — is back. But he’s changed too.

“It’s the same old Cledus on the outside,” he guarantees. “But the same old Cledus don’t exist no more on the inside. I’ve been loaded with money and I’ve been broke. I’ve been suicidal and I’ve been happy. I’ve been all of those things, and I’m not ashamed of any of it because I know I ain’t the only one. So things are different this time around. The fans changed my life the first go around so I made a promise to God that this go around I would try and change theirs. Give them hope and ease their troubles for awhile. Make ‘em laugh make ‘em cry, make ‘em feel good about their own life for a few hours. Come on out to one of my shows, and I might pull up a chair with you. We’ll talk, we’ll hang out, we’ll share stories but most importantly we will laugh!I want to touch peoples’ lives for the better. That’s the sole reason for my return. I have a beautiful family and home like I never dreamed of, but nothing compares to the joy I get from sharing my journey!”

By popular demand, Sanders has organized a special edition “90s NIGHT” on Monday, July 23 at 8:00 PM (doors: 6:30 PM) at Marathon Music Works in Nashville, TN that will again bring together his fellow artist friends to perform, honor and celebrate one of the greatest decades in country music.

ABOUT ADAM SANDERS:

Adam Sanders grew up in the north Florida town of Lake City, where he spent much of his youth with music; playing local fairs, talent shows and town festivals. While spending summers with his dad in Nashville, Adam found himself in and out of studios on Music Row with his uncle and professional musician, Scotty Sanders. It was then that Adam fell in love with the recording process, and the creative side of the music business. He knew this was where he was meant to be. With a plan of moving to Music City following high school graduation, Adam would spend as much time as possible, teaching himself to write songs about the things in life he knew about.

In 2009, Adam made the move to Nashville. While working construction on the side to pay the bills, Adam’s songwriting opened to co-writing, and building core relationships in the business. After just two years, Adam landed his first publishing deal with Big Yellow Dog Music and has had songs recorded by superstars such as Luke Bryan, whose album Crash My Party (featuring Sanders’ “Out Like That”) had the third highest debut of any record in 2013. Since then, more of Adam’s original songs have landed on projects by artists including (friend and fellow collaborator) Cole Swindell (“Ain’t Worth The Whiskey” & “Dozen Roses and A Six Pack”), Dierks Bentley (“Sounds of Summer”), Dustin Lynch (“Hell of a Night”) and Scotty McCreery. He scored his first #1 single as a songwriter in March 2015, when “Ain’t Worth The Whiskey” hit the top of the chart and had a second #1 with “Hell of a Night” in the summer of 2015.

Sanders
has already independently sold over 70,000 singles and racked up over 40 million Spotify streams and lead Taste of Country to call Sanders “a rookie with a veteran resume.” The north Florida native released his most recent self-penned single “Over Did It” in late March and is the current single from his recently self-titled debut project.

It’s summer time and with that comes many ways to enjoy country music in the great outdoors, from backyard barbecues to lakeside bonfires to countryside hikes. To pay homage to one of the Heartland’s great summer outdoor traditions in a truly unexpected and unique way, Spotify Hot Country has produced four exclusive custom-designed crop circles featuring three superstar country artists as well as the Hot Country logo.

Jason Aldean

The spectacular crop circles were created by the Nashville-based renowned crop circles artist Stan Herd, known for creating visual masterpieces using fields as his canvas. He skillfully recreated the faces of music stars Luke Bryan, Kelsea Ballerini, Jason Aldean and the Spotify Hot Country logo in fields outside Lawrence. Each crop circle took approximately one week to create and will last for approximately three weeks.

Kelsea Ballerini

“I usually begin with a simple concept that speaks to something I believe in and a statement that I think is important to make with my art,” said Stan of his artistic process. “When I get to the point that I decide to actually take the drawing to a field, I create a gridded drawing to the site and try to gauge how it might fit the field or terrain. I work with crews to lay out the grid, maybe one inch equaling 20 feet, and begin the simple outline with a weedeater or other tools into existing crops or vegetation. Then we begin to gauge the work through aerial recon or drone shots.”

According to Brittany Schaffer, Head of Artist and Label Marketing at Spotify’s Nashville office, “This year Spotify is making a concentrated effort to shine a spotlight on country music and to find truly unexpected ways to celebrate all things country. To give our fans something special we decided to work with artist Stan Herd to bring to life three of the world’s biggest country artists on a beautiful Kansas landscape to pay homage to the Heartland and country music today.”

To Stan, the tie between country music and the crop circle art is all in the roots. “Country music grew out of the experience of working men and woman with a true connection to the land and to United States history as it relates to and informs that cultural essence,” he explained. “It is called ‘Country Music’ because it is about a ‘country’ or rural lifestyle that includes that agrarian connection.”

Following the April re-launch of Spotify’s flagship Hot Country playlist as a newly enhanced video playlist, Spotify Hot Country’s high-profile events at CMA Fest in Nashville in June and the Hot Country Live concert series launch in NYC on July 4th, Spotify is continuing to roll out dynamic new content, playlists, artist takeovers, Fans First activations and live events that appeal to country music fans as well as a broader fanbase. These crop circles are the next step in Spotify’s country journey and show a truly creative spirit to highlight culturally-unique elements of the country music landscape.
