“The message of the song is that women and men both have the same emotions,” said Chelsea. “No one feels more or less than the other. We all search for a song that says something that’s never been said, and I feel like this is one of those rare songs. This song has a lot of meaning for me, and I think the meaning is universal.”

Chelsea will appear on Devon O’Day’s “Nashville Today” show on WSM-AM this Thursday, February 7 and will visit the Ty Bentli Show to write and perform a song as part of the show’s popular “10 Minute Tune” segment the morning of the 8th.

She has a rare Nashville performance set for Friday, February 19 at The Cowan music venue in Topgolf. The no-cover show will benefit the Nashville Humane Association, and attendees are asked to bring a can of dog or cat food as admission.

“Loretta Lynn: An All-Star Birthday Celebration Concert” Announced At Bridgestone Arena On April 1, 2019

Music icon Loretta Lynn will celebrate her birthday this April with a once-in-a-lifetime music event. On the heels of one of the most deeply personal albums of her career, Wouldn’t It Be Great (Legacy Recordings/Sony Music Entertainment), the 2019 GRAMMY nominee celebrates this year’s birthday being honored by her friends. Alan Jackson, Brandy Clark, Darius Rucker, Garth Brooks, George Strait, Jack White, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban, Little Big Town, Margo Price, Martina McBride, Miranda Lambert, Pistol Annies and Trisha Yearwood are among the first guests announced for “Loretta Lynn: An All-Star Birthday Celebration Concert” on Monday, April 1 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, produced by AEG Presents. Acclaimed music producer Dave Cobb will serve as musical director for the evening of celebration and song. Net proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Opry Trust Fund and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum®.

“I am so excited to celebrate my 87th birthday with all my friends,” shares Lynn. “This is the first time I’ve ever had a birthday party! My birthday wish has come true. The only other wish I have is that Keith Urban jumps out of my birthday cake!”

Garth Brooks was on hand at the press conference to surprise Lynn with a birthday cake to kick-off the celebration. In describing Lynn’s immense contribution to American music, Brooks said, “She’s the queen of Country music, there’s not a level she hasn’t crushed, no matter how big this party is, it ain’t gonna be big enough! This is going to be an honor and a blast!”

Sally Williams, SVP Programming & Artist Relations Opry Entertainment and GM, Grand Ole Opry added, “Loretta’s been warming hearts and putting smiles on faces since she joined the Opry in 1962. There’s no one who deserves a big birthday throwdown more than her. And by generously including the Opry Trust Fund in the festivities, it will be the country music community that will receive the gifts this year as she helps us fulfill the mission of helping those in our community who are in need.”

“Country Music Hall of Fame member Loretta Lynn is a beloved and important figure in American music,” said Kyle Young, CEO of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. “Loretta’s gift helps assure the success of our ongoing education mission, as we relate her story and the stories of other vital music-makers to generations of listeners and learners. In our museum, Loretta will always be a precious presence, as the memories and artistry of a coal miner’s daughter continue to inspire.”

AEG Presents’ Ali Harnell serves as executive producer of the event noted the significance of the timing, “Producing this event is an absolute pride-filled highlight of my career. I have always looked to Loretta as an inspiration on so many fronts. She is a boundary-pushing, trailblazing, surviving, undeniable superstar and I can’t wait to celebrate her and all her many achievements on April 1 at Bridgestone Arena.”

Loretta Lynn has long been established as the undisputed Queen of Country Music, with more than 50 years of recording and touring to her name. A self-taught guitarist and songwriter, Lynn was one of the most distinctive performers in Nashville in the 1960s and 1970s. She shook up Nashville by writing her own songs, many of which tackled boundary-pushing topics drawn from her own life experiences as a wife and mother. “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” “Fist City” and “Don’t Come Home A’ Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ on Your Mind)” are just three of her 16 country No. 1 singles.

Lynn is also one of the most awarded musicians of all time. She has been inducted into more music Halls of Fame than any female recording artist, including The Country Music Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and was the first woman to be named the Country Music Association’s Entertainer of the Year in 1972. Lynn received Kennedy Center Honors in 2003 and a Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2013. In 2015, she was named recipient of Billboard’s inaugural Women in Music “Legend” Award. Lynn has won four GRAMMY Awards (including a GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010) and sold more than 45 million records worldwide.

Tickets to “Loretta Lynn: All-Star Birthday Celebration Concert” go on sale Friday, January 18 at 10:00 a.m. (central) with prices ranging from $29.50 to $149.50 (plus applicable fees) and limited VIP packages available. To purchase tickets, visit BridgestoneArena.com.

Longtime Opry favorite Mark Wills became the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry tonight during a sold-out performance at the Ryman Auditorium. Craig Morgan, a 10-year Opry member, officially welcomed Wills to the Opry family.

“It’s a great honor to be a part of this family as the cornerstone of our format and I’m proud to be here to welcome you,” said Morgan. And as a longtime friend he jokingly added, “And I love knowing I will forever be embedded in your mind as part of your memory from tonight!”

“I thought many, many times what it would be like to have a good friend be the one who would induct me as a member of the Opry,” shared Wills. “Craig, you are a hero of mine and I will forever be indebted to you.” Prior to his induction moment Wills reflected on getting “to make my own piece of history and it couldn’t happen at a better place than the Ryman.”

“Vince Gill said it so well when he invited Mark to join the family last month, citing Mark as being one of the Opry’s great supporters and a proponent of what the Opry stands for,” began Sally Williams, senior vice president, programming and artist relations/Opry general manger. “We are glad to call him family, and look forward to Mark entertaining Opry audiences and sharing his passion for the Opry for years to come.”

Also appearing on the show tonight was Arista Records Carlton Anderson, who made his Grand Ole Opry debut. Among those coming to the Opry soon are Bobby Bones, Terri Clark, Jason Crabb, Vince Gill, Chris Janson, Dustin Lynch, William Michael Morgan, Eric Paslay, Neyla Pekarek, Ricky Skaggs, The Steel Woods, Steve Wariner, and more.

About Mark Wills

Mark Wills is a multi-platinum, 16-time Billboard single chart-topper, and ACM Award-winning artist. He has captivated fans for over two decades. He achieved his first charting-topping success at age of 23 and has maintained longevity in the music business that most artists can only dream of. His mission is to create Country music filled with depth and meaningful substance and to create lasting memories through his lyrics. Wills has released a total of seven albums. It was “Jacob’s Ladder” that jump-started his career in 1996. The single was followed by a string of Top 10 smashes; “Places I’ve Never Been” (1997), “I Do (Cherish You)” (1998), “Don’t Laugh at Me” (1998), “Wish You Were Here” (1999), “She’s in Love” (1999), and “Back at One” (2000).” With its powerful message, “Don’t Laugh at Me” garnered nominations from the CMA for single, song, and video of the year in 1998. In 2001, Wills released his fourth album Loving Every Minute, which included a duet with labelmate and platinum-selling artist, Jamie O’Neal. His Greatest Hits followed in 2002, featuring the huge radio hit “19 Somethin’.” He released the album And the Crowd Goes Wild in 2003. In 2007, a collection of his greatest hits called The Definitive Collection was released followed by Familiar Stranger in 2008. In 2011, Wills released a patriotic album Looking For America, his way of giving back being an avid supporter of the US Military he frequently entertains. One of Wills’ greatest and most recent honors came on December 21, 2018, when Country superstar, Vince Gill invited him to join the Grand Ole Opry. The induction set to take place on January 11, 2019. Wills resides in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife of 22 years, Kelly and two daughters. In his spare time, when he’s not writing, recording or touring, he is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time with his girls. Wills is a dedicated parent, philanthropist, outdoorsman, and jokester; but, more than anything else, he is an artist and entertainer who helped to create the foundation for what country music is today!

Nashville Ballet premiered Nashville’s Nutcracker in 2008 with a unique concept weaving the city’s glittering past with the awe-inspiring wonder of the classic tale. In its 11th season on stage, Nashville’s Nutcracker has cemented itself in the hearts of numerous patrons and young artists as a treasured holiday tradition.

Clara’s enchanted journey begins at the 1897 Centennial Exposition in Nashville. Along with her Uncle Drosselmeyer, Clara meets a colorful cast of characters from faraway lands. When she receives a magical wooden Nutcracker from Drosselmeyer on Christmas Eve, the toy comes to life to lead her on an unforgettable adventure. Clara encounters a captivating collection of fascinating friends including the delightful characters she met at the Exposition. When the curtain closes on Clara asleep on her couch, the audience is left to decide if it was real or not.

“Nashville’s Nutcracker was designed to be seen over and over again because you find little details in it each time that make it exciting and fresh,” Nashville Ballet’s Artistic Director Paul Vasterling said. “The story itself is magical as it is, but the addition of Nashville’s iconic characters and landmarks into the production guarantee that you’ll discover something new every year.”

Vasterling’s original concept and choreography are complemented by an entirely locally produced production including the dancers, production crew, costumers and musicians. Along with 53 members of Nashville Ballet’s professional company and second company, Nashville’s Nutcracker includes a youth cast of a record-breaking 298 young dancers from School of Nashville Ballet and the community at large accompanied by 60 musicians from the Nashville Symphony.

Advanced Sports Medicine and RJ Young are supporting sponsors for Nashville’s Nutcracker. Tickets start at $40 and can be purchased in person at the TPAC box office in downtown Nashville, by phone at (615) 782-4040 or at www.nashvilleballet.com.
