Miranda Lambert & Leon Bridges Join Forces In “If You Were Mine” Music Video, Out Now

Miranda Lambert and Leon Bridges. Photo credit: John Shearer

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – As fellow GRAMMY Award winners Miranda Lambert and Leon Bridges continue to earn acclaim for “If You Were Mine”, the Texas natives have teamed up once again to film an official music video for the longing ballad of unrequited love. Watch HERE.

Directed by Reid Long, the video features Lambert and Bridges as performers at a local dive bar. Clad in a custom set by Denimcratic and adorned in Established Jewelry, Lambert trades lines with Bridges as they observe an eye-catching couple, watching the patrons flow between affection and confrontation, eventually finding a happy ending having seemingly been inspired by the on-stage performance.

Drawing inspiration from Pablo Ferro’s work in the 1960s-era Thomas Crown Affair, the split screen visuals offer varying perspectives of Lambert, Bridges and the patrons throughout the song. Eagle-eyed fans will also recognize the dive bar setting from Lambert’s Academy of Country Music Award-winning “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” Video of the Year, as she takes on a decidedly different persona for “If You Were Mine.”

Released June 6 on Lambert’s Vanner Records with distribution by IMPERIAL, the Jon Randall-produced song penned by Lambert together with Ashley Monroe and Jesse Frasure specifically with Bridges in mind has already earned critical acclaim. Rolling Stone named it among the “Best Country Songs of 2023 So Far,” declaring, “there’s not likely to be a more sensual collab in 2023… Two Texas titans – one with a steel-bodied twang, the other all billowy soul – crackle together like a warm fire in the hearth,” while UPROXX proclaims the song “contains a mystical veil of Texas magic… as they blend together elements of country and R&B.”

Lambert and Bridges also teamed up for a live debut of the song at this year’s CMA Fest, with the Nissan Stadium performance set to air as part of the primetime concert special airing Wednesday, July 19 at 8/7c on ABC.

The release is the first glimpse at new music from Lambert, who has recently teased “some fun collaborations up my sleeve,” since her critically acclaimed and GRAMMY-nominated album, Palomino, celebrated by Variety for cementing her place as “the best ambassador country has to the world.” Lambert also recently added New York Times best-selling author to her impressive list of accolades with debut book “Y’all Eat Yet?” available everywhere now and she will return to Las Vegas for the next round of her Velvet Rodeo residency shows tomorrow, July 7.

Bridges is currently in the studio working on his fourth LP for Columbia Records while touring throughout the summer and fall of 2023.

About Miranda Lambert

Already a decorated songwriter, Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year, passionate shelter animal advocate, restaurateur and business woman, superstar Miranda Lambert adds New York Times best-selling author to her impressive list of titles with the arrival of her debut book, “Y’all Eat Yet?,” available everywhere now.

Palomino, her eighth solo album, arrived in 2022 as the largest female Country album debut of the year and earned a GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album. Named among the best of the year by the New York Times, TIME, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Stereogum, People and many more, it marks the latest installment in a storied career that has spanned seven previous No. 1 solo albums, 11 No. 1 hit radio singles, more than 70 prestigious awards and countless sales certifications, earning the most-awarded artist in ACM history praise from NPR as “the most riveting country star of her generation.”

With her headlining Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas residency extended through late 2023 at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino’s Bakkt Theater, the top streaming female Country artist of 2022 was also named to the TIME100 list honoring the world’s most influential people, with Pitchfork declaring that she “manages the hat-trick of both timelessness and timely activism.” Whether challenging conventional gender notions in her recent Top 10 hit “If I Was A Cowboy” or using her voice to write and record the inclusive “Y’All Means All” anthem for Netflix’s “Queer Eye,” the Texas native continues to expand the tent of the Country genre via her music, including with her latest release, the cross-genre collaboration “If You Were Mine” with Leon Bridges.

Idyllwind, her clothing and cowboy boot collection, is an exclusive brand sold at all Boot Barn stores nationwide, while her home goods collection, Wanda June Home, is available exclusively at Walmart. She is also the first female artist to have her own venue on Broadway in Nashville with her Casa Rosa Tex-Mex cantina. An avid animal lover, Lambert’s MuttNation pet product line is available exclusively at Tractor Supply Co. with proceeds benefiting her MuttNation Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit that has raised over $8 million since its inception in 2009. The Foundation’s mission is to promote the adoption of rescue pets, support animal shelters across the country, advance spay & neuter and assist with the transport of animals during times of natural disaster.

“…extraordinary consistency at the pinnacle of country music’s mainstream.” – The Tennessean

“Next Thing You Know” Lyrics:

Swear that you’re staying single next thing you know

You meet a girl at a bar and next thing you know

You get her laughin’, its two a.m.

You’re tellin your buddies three months in

That she ain’t moving in but next thing you know

There’s a Uhaul trailer next thing you know

Your old apartment is y’all’s new place

There goes the carpet but the deer head stays

Next thing you know saving money like never before

Just to spend it all at a jewelry store

Getting down on one knee on her momma’s porch Just pray she don’t say no

Next thing you know your best man gives a half drunk speech

And your sunburn on a honeymoon beach

And your left hand is getting used to that ring

There the next two or three years ago

Next thing you know

Weren’t really trying next thing you know

There’s a test on the counter next thing you know

She’s standing there crying nodding her head yes

Your half excited half scared to death

Cause next thing you know

You’re wearing scrubs and a funny white hat

And the doctor’s sayin how you doing there dad and

Nobody’s ever called you that

And you take the drive home slow

Next thing you know its first steps, first date, first car

Its 11:01 wondering where they are

You sayin’ that USC’s too far

Its amazing how fast seventeen years go

Next thing you know, Next thing you know

Next thing you know you get to know your wife again

And you’re more in love than you’ve ever been

With a lot of years of remember whens and still some down the road

‘Cause next thing you know you got a yard full of your kids’ kids

And you take them to church, teach em to fish and ya

Tell them stories every chance you get

‘Bout how fast this life down here can go

Next thing you know, Next thing you know

Kameron Marlowe And Erin Kirby Give The Fans What They Want! New Version Of “I CAN LIE (THE TRUTH IS)” Out Now

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – When Kameron Marlowe first gave fans a sneak peek of his latest release “I Can Lie (The Truth Is)” last November, one response stood out. Aspiring singer/songwriter Erin Kirby posted a TikTok adding harmonies over Marlowe’s original voice memo, drawing immediate praise (including a “HOLY S***” from Marlowe himself) as fans flooded both artists’ comments begging for an official duet. Today, the pair answer the call with “I Can Lie (The Truth Is)” by Kameron Marlowe featuring Erin Kirby. Listen HERE.

“A while back I teased this song on TikTok and the next day I got an insane amount of notifications about this girl named Erin Kirby. I listened to her video and immediately said we had to throw her on ‘I Can Lie’,” said Marlowe. “This song wouldn’t be true without her, and she was definitely the missing link to making the story of this song come to life. I’m excited for my first duet to be something the fans made happen and I can’t wait to see how Erin’s career takes off from here. She’s the real deal and I’m very proud of this song.”

Marlowe released the solo version of “I Can Lie (The Truth Is)” earlier this month, but listeners were still ravenous to hear Kirby’s distinct vocals round out the track and blend with Marlowe’s mournful wail. Unbeknownst to Kirby, Marlowe was hard at work behind the scenes to make it happen and extended the invite to join him for a duet via TikTok – the platform that originally connected the two. Thinking she was on her way to a meeting, the 19-year-old Georgia native actually ended up in the recording studio, where Marlowe surprised her with the news that she would be recording vocals that day. Watch the moment HERE.

Kirby added “This has been such a thrill getting to be a part of this song! From the response to me covering the song, to then getting surprised by Kameron to sing with him on it, I’m just so excited to be a part of this and can’t wait for y’all to hear it.”

Additionally, Marlowe invited Kirby to join him for their first joint live performance Tuesday (6/27) on the Grand Ole Opry. “I Can Lie (The Truth Is)” earned nearly 1.5 million global streams its first week of release and has been touted as “a heater” by Whiskey Riff as Country Now observed “The singer/songwriter’s baritone vocals are accompanied by the traditional sounds of pedal steel and the fiddle, taking listeners back to that traditional country sound that’s been passed down from generation to generation by the likes of Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and more.”

It’s the latest offering from Marlowe, who is a member of the CMT Listen Up and Opry NextStage classes of 2023. He released his debut album We Were Cowboys – produced by Dann Huff – in 2022 and will spend the rest of the year touring with Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, and Jordan Davis in between his own headline dates, fairs, and festivals including Watershed, Faster Horses, Windy City Smokeout, and more.

We look forward to providing our guests with a dining and entertainment experience second to none.”

“We are thrilled that our Dad, who loved good songs, good food and good spirits, will now be part of Music City’s creative and vibrant landscape,” says Nancy and Tina Sinatra. Added Tina, “the stately Southern Turf landmark is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and once housed a speakeasy and saloon; how cool is that?”

On the occasion of Sinatra’s 100th birthday, Jack Daniel’s produced a limited 100-proof 100 barrels of Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Century. The Tennessee whiskey instantly became a highly sought-after collector’s choice. Icon searched the country for a supply, and Sinatra Bar & Lounge will serve Sinatra Century by the drink (while it lasts) – along with Sinatra Select and an array of classic cocktails.

As part of the private, invite-only April 14 grand opening, SiriusXM’s Siriusly Sinatra channel will present a live special featuring multi-award-winning country superstar Trisha Yearwood. “Let’s Be Frank with Trisha Yearwood LIVE from Sinatra Bar & Lounge in Nashville, Tennessee” will air from 6 – 8 p.m. CST, and will include interviews and performances, along with several selections from Yearwood’s 2019 tribute album Let’s Be Frank and other Sinatra tracks.

The April 14 event will have limited capacity for press. A larger-scale media preview event will be held April 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Sinatra Bar & Lounge. The restaurant will be open to the public following the grand opening event, with reservations available two weeks in advance.
