Kristen Kelly’s “He Loves To Make Me Cry” Makes Strong Radio Debut

New York Times Among Rave Reviews Of Singer-Songwriter’s New Single

Kristen Kelly, He Loves to Make Me CryWith 30 initial adds, Arista Nashville’s Kristen Kelly makes a powerful showing with her new single, “He Love To Make Me Cry,” as it impacts country radio this week. Co-penned by Kelly, Paul Overstreet and Even Stevens, this sexy and soulful song is the Texas-born singer-songwriter’s follow-up to her debut single, “Ex-Old Man.”

The following are early reviews from music critics with high praise of Kelly’s romantic song:

“Some singers get by on the strength of their attitude, some on the strength of their songwriting and some on the strength of their voice. Kristen Kelly…has plenty of the first two, but it’s the third that sets her apart. That’s especially true on ‘He Loves to Make Me Cry, which is one earthy howl after another, a striking disruption to mainstream country’s emphasis on precision and linearity.”
New York Times
, Jon Caramanica

“Kelly wails it for all it’s worth and stakes her claim as a newcomer to watch. Essential listening.”
MusicRow
, Robert K. Oermann

“This is a performance to marvel. It’s not just the power in the Texan’s voice, it’s that she doesn’t sound like another singer in Nashville. You’ll forget what you were doing for three minutes with every listen. These lyrics could steam up an igloo…There’s a fine line between sensual and Cinemax, and Kelly doesn’t cross it. If she can follow up this song with more powerful and original recordings, look for her to be quickly grouped with women named Underwood and McBride in conversations about the top female voices in country music”.

Tyler Farr Goes “Redneck Crazy”

Tyler Farr

With his new single “Redneck Crazy” now at radio, Columbia Nashville newcomer Tyler Farr has witnessed many ‘redneck crazy’ moments in his years on the road. He spent his teenage years, side stage at George Jones concerts watching his step-dad play guitar for the country legend and more recently, playing over 200 shows opening for Colt Ford.

“Yeah man, I saw just about everything you can imagine on the road and a jealous boyfriend or girlfriend was at the root of a lot of them,” said Tyler. “I’ve been there myself too but luckily the Yankee candle flying through the air didn’t hit me in the head,” he laughed. “This thing called love makes people nuts and makes you go ‘redneck crazy.’ So when I heard this song, I knew instantly I wanted to record it.” The song was written by Josh Kear, Mark Irwin and Chris Tompkins.
