Nashville, TN- Aug. 28, 2012- Country music superstar Tim McGraw wrapped his HomeFront program this weekend in Boston, capping off a summer long campaign to award mortgage-free homes to veterans in need at each tour stop. Along with Chase, Operation Homefront, and ACM Lifting Lives, the program relieved an unimaginable amount of stress for families who already sacrifice so much.
McGraw has a long history and deep interest in supporting veterans and military families and wanted to find another way to honor and support the vets. Through this program, he was able to meet each family and hear their inspiring personal stories as they walked side by side with him to the stage at each show.
Check out this interview with JT Hodges! We caught up with him just following CRS so I guess you could say this was our very last official/unofficial interview of CRS since we had to delay our interview with him. JT was kind enough to not only give us an interview, but performed at our very first ‘Music In Motion’ benefit for MS on March 10th at the Hard Rock Cafe in Nashville. http://youtu.be/ame6RGOiiGY
Sisters Traveled to Dominican Republic to Support World Vision and Shoot Authentic Footage
Last Monday country rising stars Carter’s Chord (Becky Robertson, Emily Fortney, Joanna Ott) premiered their video for “Love A Little Bigger.” This week I caught up with the girls to talk about the song and the video. (Well, two out of three of them. Becky was on her honeymoon in Maui… whatever, we’re jealous. But congrats to her and her husband Jeremiah Scott!)
As we reported a little while ago, the girls traveled to the Dominican Republic with World Vision to shoot the video, which premiered exclusively on VEVO on April 16th.
“We really felt a great connection [with World Vision],” said Joanna. “We have a huge heart for that sort of thing, and it’s been an honor to partner with such a great organization.”
Director Chris Hickey (Better Life, by Keith Urban; Our Kind of Love, by Lady Antebellum) was along for the ride, shooting authentic footage for the video. The girls even said that he was going to dedicate more of his time to World Vision after this experience.
“This is all live footage from the Dominican,” said Emily. “There were no extras or makeup artists. All the shots were real moments captured with real people.”
Not only that, but all of the children featured in the video are in the World Vision program, which means they are either sponsored or waiting to be sponsored.
And don’t think for a second that Carter’s Chord doesn’t put their money where their mouth is. They sponsor a four-year-old girl, Franyely, who they got to meet for the first time.
“Everyone can do their part,” said Joanna. “We just want to inspire people to ‘love a little bigger.’”
The video is currently on VEVO, and making its rounds all over TV. Click here to buy it on iTunes, and check out the video below!
About Carter’s Chord:
Sisters Joanna, Emily and Becky spent their childhood immersed in the sounds of country music, specifically the Outlaw Movement, thanks to parents Carter and Barny Robertson, who toured and performed with Waylon Jennings during the height of that legendary period of country music. Their six-song EP is saturated with a similar attitude and style, music that stands just outside the boundaries, while remaining true to the roots and vibe that is country music. “Love A Little Bigger” is available on the EP titled, Wild Together.
About World Vision:
World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. World Vision serves all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender. For more information on their efforts, visit www.worldvision.org
