Acclaimed country band Old Dominion debuts the music video for their new single “No Such Thing As A Broken Heart” this week via Entertainment Weekly. Click here to view! The single will be featured on the band’s forthcoming sophomore album, set to debut later this summer and is quickly rising on the Country Music Airplay Charts. Old Dominion also recently performed the track at Academy of Country Music Awards and it became the #1 Shazamed song of the night.
Lead singer Matthew Ramsey says of the single, “We love feel-good songs. Sometimes you just want to put on something that makes you smile. It’s a big part of who we are, but we definitely wanted to show that we were capable of writing more than just fun, party tunes. We think we have the potential to be around for a long time. To stick around you have to have meaningful songs.”
Proving that they are not your average country band, Old Dominion blends old-fashioned country charm, lyrical wit and rock n’ roll grit into radio-friendly, hook-heavy pop nuggets. The band has emerged as one of the hottest breaking bands in country music, fusing clever lyrics and an infectious sound. The band released their first full length album Meat and Candy, which was recently named RIAA-certified GOLD and called a “deceptively smart, occasionally cheeky, stellar debut,” by Entertainment Weekly. The debut album produced their PLATINUM track “Break Up With Him,” GOLD hit “Snapback,” and single “Song For Another Time,” which hit No. 1 the on Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase charts.
In 2016, the band was notably named ACM New Group of the Year, ACCA Breakthrough Group of the Year, AIMP Songwriter Artist of the Year and Music Row Breakthrough Artist of the Year. Old Dominion consists of lead singer Matthew Ramsey, lead guitarist Brad Tursi, multi-instrumentalist Trevor Rosen, bassist Geoff Sprung and drummer Whit Sellers.
Yesterday, Blackbird Presents announced that they are adding a second leg to their wildly successful Outlaw Music Festival. The all-star lineup features performances from Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Eric Church and more, and will visit eleven cities this summer. PBR’s Tennessee cowboy Cody Nance and country music’s Thomas Rhett and wife Lauren Akins joined Smashville nation at the Bridgestone Arena on Thursday, May 18, supporting their home team, The Predators, at Game 4 of the NHL Conference Finals against the Anaheim Ducks. Adorning the signature yellow spirit wear of the Preds, these three enjoyed being amidst the action of the intense game that went into overtime. While Game 4 ended in a loss for the Predators, Nance, Rhett and the rest of Music City remain all smiles and high hopes that their team can bring home a win at Game 5 of the fianls, in Anaheim, CA,

Chris Stapleton’s From A Room, Volume 1 debuted at the top of the Billboard Country Albums Chart. The collection sold 219,000 units (and 202,000 in traditional album sales) to land at No. 1 on the Country chart and at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. This is the highest-selling country debut since Luke Bryan’s Kill the Lights sold 320,000 in its first week in 2015. Stapleton also debuts at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart this week (Logic’s Everybody sold 196,000 in album sales, but with over 70 million streams).
