The 2012 Boulevard Bolt is celebrating its 19th anniversary of raising funds to benefit the homeless with a 5-mile run/walk on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. The course runs along Belle Meade Boulevard, with the start and finish taking place at St. George’s Episcopal Church (4715 Harding Rd., Nashville 37205).
In 2011, approximately 8,500 adults and children registered for the annual fundraiser and since the Boulevard Bolt began its charity event in 1994, more than $2 million has been distributed among dozens of local agencies that serve the homeless.
Anyone can participate in the race and all ages are welcome to participate (no strollers or pets allowed). Registration fees are $30 per person online (www.active.com) or by mail if received before November 14 or $60 day of race (if not sold out). Online registration will close Friday, November 16 at 12:00pm CT.
The Bolt is a volunteer effort and organized every year by three congregations in Belle Meade – St. George’s Episcopal Church, The Temple and Immanuel Baptist Church. A few of this year’s sponsors include Cassidy Turley, Elam Vaughn & Fleming Dentistry, Frank E. Neal and Co., Pilkinton Eye Center, Raymond James Morgan Keegan and many others. (See full list below).
Encourage your family, friends, and co-workers to participate and get an early start to your Thanksgiving morning. If you can’t take part in the race, you can make donations online at www.active.com or mail to Boulevard Bolt, 222 Belle Meade Blvd. Nashville, TN 37205.
