Florida Georgia Line & Tennessee Titans Tackle Downtown Nashville Celebration April 4

MULTI-PLATINUM superstar duo FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE are set to unleash their biggest hits on downtown Nashville April 4, headlining a massive street party and concert to help the NFL’s Tennessee Titans reveal their brand new 2018-2019 uniforms. Watch here.

Launching a new look that coincides with their 20th season as Titans, the FREE show kicks off at 7:00P CT at Music City’s neon-lined crossroads of Broadway and 1st Avenue, just blocks away from the duo’s three-story entertainment destination FGL HOUSE.

Tens of thousands of fans will score the first look at their favorite Titans players in the new uniforms before the FGL takes the stage. Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley told The Tennessean they won’t be holding anything back from their electrifying live-show experience.

“We’re bringing all the bells and whistles,” Hubbard said.

“We were like, ‘If we’re going to play Nashville, we need to do it right. Let’s rock this thing,’” Kelley said, adding they also planned to bring their pyrotechnics. “We’re just jacked. Nashville is a bull’s-eye for everyone to come to right now. Anytime we can represent the city and the Titans, we’re stepping our game up. We’re just thankful.”

Following a year which saw FGL rise to the level of stadium-packing crossover icons with THE SMOOTH STADIUM TOUR 2017 (with Nelly, Backstreet Boys and more supporting guests), and continue their streak of chart success with their 13th No. 1 single, “God, Your Mama, And Me” (ft. Backstreet Boys), the pair have already doubled down on their reputation as genre-defying hitmakers to start 2018.

Bebe Rexha’s easy-riding hit “Meant to Be” (ft. Florida Georgia Line) continues to dominate with 13 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, which is comprised of airplay, sales and streaming data. Rexha, Hubbard, Josh Miller, and David Garcia co-penned the PLATINUM-certified track, which is still rising through the coveted Top 10 of the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart. FGL is currently in the studio working on their upcoming follow-up to 2016’s PLATINUM-certified DIG YOUR ROOTS album (BMLG Records) while details of a new headlining tour are coming soon.

Ballet and the Man In Black Collide At Ballet Ball 2018

Ballet goes country (and a little rock ‘n’ roll) when Nashville Ballet’s annual fundraising gala Ballet Ball pays homage to Johnny Cash through a collaboration with his son John Carter Cash and guest appearances by several internationally recognized artists at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center on Saturday, March 3.

The event, which raises funds to present educational dance programming to more than 30,000 underserved youth and families throughout Middle Tennessee each year, will feature a set list of songs written or popularized by Johnny Cash curated by John Carter Cash and performed by some of Cash’s friends and/or favorite artists. The star-studded lineup includes nine-time Grammy Award-winning songwriter and performer Sheryl Crow, CMA, BMI and ACM Award-winning country artist Ronnie Dunn (of the most successful country music duo of all time Brooks & Dunn), ACM and CMA Award-winning singer-songwriter Jamey Johnson, Native American Grammy Award-winning artist, songwriter and flutist Bill Miller, country music newcomer and YouTube mashup sensation Devin Dawson, John Carter Cash himself and his wife Ana Cristina Cash.

To celebrate the legacy of Johnny Cash, musical guests will share the stage with Nashville Ballet dancers who will perform excerpts of Under the Lights, a contemporary ballet choreographed by Christopher Stuart. Cash was also the collaborative partner behind Nashville Ballet’s production of this work, which debuted in 2014 and features some of Johnny Cash’s most iconic songs. Cash was no stranger to dance when Nashville Ballet approached him in 2013 to create a ballet set to his father’s music. He grew up attending ballet performances around the world with his mother while his father toured. “My mother always had a great respect for the art of ballet. I recall first attending the ballet as a boy while on tour in London. I am grateful and honored to be a part of the Nashville Ballet’s endeavors,” Cash said.

The gala performance celebrates the Cash legacy just weeks before Johnny Cash Forever Words the Music is released by Sony Legacy on April 6. The album is based off the 2016 book Forever Words: The Unknown Poems, a collection of his previously unpublished lyrics and poems. John Carter Cash offered those poems to contemporary musicians to complete and record. Featured musicians span across genres and include Kacey Musgraves, Chris Cornell and Brad Paisley.

Recognizing his artistic collaboration and entrusting Nashville Ballet to bring the “Johnny Cash ballet” to life, Cash will receive the third annual Synergy Award from Nashville Ballet, which honors musical artists who enable and promote the creative partnership between music and dance.

Ballet Ball 2018 is chaired by Mrs. Adrienne McRae and Mrs. Suzanne Smothers with Honorary Chair Mrs. Nancy Cheadle.

The evening features a menu by Kristen Winston Catering, selected wine pairings provided by Lipman Brothers and event design by Bruce Pittman Inc.

Tickets for Ballet Ball are by invitation only, but the general public is invited to purchase tickets to the Ballet Ball Late Party, which features cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a seat at the gala performance. Late Party Co-Chairs Leigh and Brewer Adams, Rachel and JJ Ailor, Rachel and Justin Albright and Grace and Bradley French, have programmed an evening of dancing to the tunes of Bizz & Everyday People, who were recently named Indie R&B Group/Artist of the Year at the 2nd Annual Indie Ville TV Awards. Late Party tickets are $175.00 per person.

For more information about Ballet Ball or to purchase tickets to the Late Party, please visit Nashville Ballet’s website.

Gavin Kennedy Shows Off New Music

The Back Corner was filled Tuesday with supporters of multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer, Gavin Kennedy. The lights were dimmed and Gavin’s logo blazed bright against the wall. This was all a part of a listening party in celebration of his upcoming debut album release this Friday, Sunchaser. People gathered inside The Back Corner to listen as Gavin told his story and played tracks from the album. He started from the beginning of the album and in between songs clips were played featuring people who had worked on the album. One of those clips was of Adam “Nolly” Getgood who was actually in attendance. Nolly co-produced Gavin’s debut album. According to Gavin, the album starts with a few “one off songs” then progressively leads into more story telling songs that feel more thematic and cinematic. The music was amazing and the visuals projected behind him perfectly represented the vibe of every song. We’re so excited to see where Gavin goes next and will be looking out for more of his shows! Be sure to check out his album when it drops this Friday.

5 Country Music Things To Do In Nashville Besides Honky Tonks

There are so many fun honky tonks in Music City – but Nashville also offers so much more than Broadway bars.  If you’re a country music fan, we’ve rounded up five great music-related things to do in the 615.  Whether you’re an out of town guest or a local, you’re sure to enjoy these activities which let you explore the city in new ways!

Arrington Vineyards

Arrington Vineyards is a must-do Nashville winery because it’s owned by none other than Kix Brooks, of Brooks & Dunn. The winery is open all year round and features wine all made right here in Tennessee. From their picnic style wine tastings to live music, Arrington is a nice change of pace from Broadway.

The Escape Game

The Escape Game is perfect for any family or friend groups in Music City who need a little reboot after a long night out. They have a fun “Nashville” themed room where you and your teammates are solving clues, working against the clock as you pretend you are an up-and-coming band – you must find a hidden contract in the “recording studio” in hopes of making it big. It’s a #1 rated activity on TripAdvisor, and with their convenient location downtown, it’s a great place to experience country music in a new way.

Country Music Hall Of Fame

It’s no secret that Music City is filled with tons of history, but it can be hard to keep up with all of it. All you need for a little refresher is a visit to the Country Music Hall Of Fame. From rotating exhibits like Loretta Lynn’s Blue Kentucky Girl and ones that you can see year round like the Taylor Swift Education Center, the museum offers something for every country fan.

Grand Ole Opry

This is something every Music City tourist needs to see! A tour of this historical spot will give fans chills as they stand on a circle where thousands of musical legends have sang before them. Along with a tour, you can also buy tickets to check out a performance from various country music acts in town. There is truly nothing like the Opry!

Grimey’s Record Store

Grimey’s is a must stop for any one passing through or moving to Nashville. This independent record store has everything from CDs to LPs to DVDs. They also have in-store performances from pretty awesome artists, like Kacey Musgraves and Jason Isbell. You won’t want to miss out on the chance to take home a great record, and possibly meet your favorite artist.

Time’s Up: Nashville’s All-Female Song Suffragettes Speak Up Against Gender Inequality And Sexual Misconduct With New Project

Nashville’s all-female singer-songwriter collective, Song Suffragettes, pointedly address gender inequality and sexual misconduct against women with a new song aptly-titled “Time’s Up” and an accompanying music video. The project and the women involved give a direct and unapologetic voice to the injustice and mistreatment of women everywhere, both inside and outside the entertainment business. The song and music video have already been embraced by iTunes and Apple Music, who added the song into their top playlist: A-List Country. Radio Disney Country premiered the song last week and feature it on the Radio Disney Country Spotlight show airing on Radio Disney.  Now on VEVO, you can watch it here.

“Me and the girls were watching the Golden Globes, drinking wine and wearing all black. During one of the many inspiring speeches that night, I just felt the weight of what was happening — how I was going to tell my daughters and granddaughters about this one day,” said Kalie Shorr, a co-writer on the song and CMT Next Women of Country member whose song “Fight Like A Girl” made waves in 2016 for its female empowering message, “It came together so easily and flawlessly because the amazing girls of Song Suffragettes were so passionate about the cause and willing to move around their schedules to make it happen. The team behind Song Suffragettes hustled so hard to make this project come to life making our idea a reality. I have been so inspired by this whole reckoning that’s been happening and it just felt so obvious to connect that to what we do at Song Suffragettes.”

The women of Song Suffragettes are using their unique platform to add their voices to the current conversation on gender inequality and sexual harassment prevalent throughout America and on a local level within the country music industry. Earlier this week, Rolling Stone Country released an article discussing the history of sexual misconduct and harassment in country music radio:

“They reveal an environment where artists and other music professionals – especially women – are expected to be overly accessible and use sexuality as currency when visiting stations and meeting with certain program directors, or attending industry events, in the hope of having their song added into rotation.” – Marissa R. Moss, Rolling Stone Country

The proceeds from the sale of the song will benefit Time’s Up, an organization that created a unified call from women in entertainment to end discrimination, harassment and abuse of women everywhere.

The 23 voices featured in “Time’s Up” come from all over the U.S. and Canada and all have unique stories and musical directions. You can learn more on each participating artist here (women listed in order of appearance in the song): Kalie Shorr, Tasji Bachman, Chloe Gilligan, Savannah Keyes, Mignon, Gracie Schram, Tiera, Jenna Paulette, Emma White, Jordyn Mallory, Emma Lynn White, Regan Stewart, Kim Paige, Jenna McDanielMadison Kozak, Jenny Ray, Tenille Arts, Tristan McIntosh, Tia Scola, Alexis Gomez, Candi Carpenter, Trannie Stevens, Lena Stone (does not appear in music video).

About Song Suffragettes
Song Suffragettes is a collective of female singer-songwriters who perform every Monday night at Nashville’s Listening Room Café. With a mantra of #LetTheGirlsPlay, Song Suffragettes has featured close to 200 women in the past 3+ years resulting in multiple publishing and record deals for some of Nashville’s brightest talent. For more information please visit www.songsuffragettes.com.

About Kalie Shorr
Kalie Shorr burst onto the Nashville music scene in 2016 with her self-penned hit “Fight Like A Girl”. The Portland, Maine singer-songwriter became a Sirius XM Highway Find and was praised by Spotify, CMT, Radio Disney Country, Taste of Country, and even Billboard magazine. In 2017, Kalie released her Slingshot EP to rave reviews and was named “New Artist You Need to Know” by Rolling Stone, “The New Nashville” by Teen Vogue, and one of “2017’s Hottest Artists Under 25” by Taste of Country. Her newly released single “Two Hands” has already been added to Sirius XM, Radio Disney Country and TuneIn with prominent placement on Apple Music’s Breaking Country and Cool Country playlists. With a new EP coming January 26, 2018, Kalie was recently inducted into CMT’s Next Women of Country Class of 2018 and has just been announced as support for the Sara Evans All The Love CMT Next Women of Country Tour.  Playing over 100 shows a year, Kalie’s message of female- empowerment has led to her being called the “next ‘Women of Country’ generation” [CMChat] and a “modern country woman [who will] continue to inspire in 2018” [TasteofCountry.com].

You can find her music on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music and everywhere digital music is sold or streamed. As tour dates continue to be announced you can stay current with Kalie on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Be sure to follow her on Youtube and visit www.kalieshorr.com.

Keith Urban (And Fans) Announce “GRAFFITI U WORLD TOUR 2018” During Live Streamed Pop-Up Performance

At an unannounced pop-up show last night at Nashville’s Exit/In, GRAMMY Award winner Keith Urban enlisted his fans to officially announce his “GRAFFITI U WORLD TOUR 2018,” and also took the opportunity to reveal that his forthcoming album will be called GRAFFITI U.  During a 2-hour surprise show, in front of a crowd of 350 lucky fans that poured out onto the streets, Urban also took time to introduce and perform with GRAMMY nominee Kelsea Ballerini, who will accompany Urban on the North American leg, as his supporting act.

It was Urban’s fans who took center stage for the tour announcement – a live streamed event that saw them during the feed, in cities across the country announcing the “GRAFFITI U WORLD TOUR 2018” on white poster boards –  http://smarturl.it/KU-FanVideo.

“I’ve been full-on writing, recording, collaborating and creating with some incredibly talented people for GRAFFITI U, a lot of whom I’ve never worked with before,” said Urban.  “I can hear how some of the songs will translate live already, which really makes putting on a new show so exhilarating and I loved having our fans included in the announcement of the tour because it’s their tour too.”

The 58-city tour will kick off on June 15th at St. Louis’s Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre and will include 10 shows in Canada (supporting act TBA) as well as visits to cities in Nevada, Oregon, Alabama and Arkansas that Urban has yet to headline.  Urban’s shows have become concert events that electrify.  They’re unexpected, if not unpredictable, and have been hailed by media around the world as a “concert experience not to be missed.” The tour will feature many of Urban’s 23 #1 songs, as well as brand new songs that have never been performed live and an all-new concert production that promises to be as spectacular as never before.

“I remember hearing Keith Urban songs that stopped me in my tracks and made me want to drop everything and chase that kind of lyric and heart filled artistry,” says Ballerini. “He’s the best in the business and I can’t wait to fangirl and learn from him this year. Truly an honor to tour with him.”

Ballerini continues her record-breaking momentum with acclaimed sophomore album UNAPOLOGETICALLY (Black River Entertainment) featuring Top 10 single “Legends.” Regarded as her “grown-up statement” (Rolling Stone), the album follows her history-making GOLD debut THE FIRST TIME that delivered three consecutive #1, PLATINUM-certified smashes – “Love Me Like You Mean It,” “Peter Pan,” “Dibs” – making her the only female artist in Country music to achieve this accolade. Praised by The New York Times as an “elegant songwriter,” Ballerini was most recently honored with the ASCAP Vanguard Award and ACM Gene Weed Milestone Award.

Since leaving East Tennessee with a handful of songs and a dream bigger than he understood, Kenny Chesney has developed into the man The Wall Street Journal deemed “The King of the Road” and the Los Angeles Times proclaimed “The People’s Superstar.” With over 30 million albums sold, 30 No. 1s, and countless sold-out stadium tours that sell in excess of a million tickets every time he takes to the road, the 2018 Country Album of the Year GRAMMY nominee is on the verge of yet another creative renaissance.

“It is a big deal to change labels,” said Chesney. “But when you hear Max, Espo, and Cris Lacy talk about music, about what it means and does, when you hear that passion, you can’t help but get fired up. To me, music is only complete when it gets to the fans and becomes part of their lives. The people at Warner understand my commitment to that idea, and they’re just as committed to those ideals as I am.”

“Kenny Chesney embodies the relentless pursuit of artistic freedom and expression,” said WMN Chairman & CEO John Esposito. “An unapologetic free spirit, he has built a career on perseverance, drive, innovation, and most especially, great songs. Everything he does is inspired. It is with deep respect and honor that we welcome Kenny to Warner Music Nashville. We couldn’t be more excited to work with him and his team.”

“Kenny’s not only a country music icon, but an American superstar, who’s still hungry to write, record, and perform amazing music that moves millions of people,” said Warner Music Group CEO, Recorded Music Max Lousada. “The fact that he has chosen Warner Music as his new label home is a huge testament to the culture created by Espo and his team, who have made our Nashville operation a magnet for both emerging talent and established artists. I join Espo in welcoming Kenny into the Warner family, and we’re all looking forward to amplifying his success and taking his music to fans across the globe.”
