What’s Under That Huge White Top? Cavalia’s Odysseo Comes To Nashville

Last night, August 30th, was opening night of Cavalia’s Odysseo, the largest traveling production in the world held under a massive, ornate, white top tent.

It’s a modern take on a throwback from the past when the circus would come to town and set up a white top tent for their performances.  However, with this tent, you have not only the largest tent in the world, but what they create inside is a true spectacle to behold and can only imagine the hours and days of work to bring such a production to life.  A 3 story mountain was built for the set design, at a point the stage area fills with water to form a lake, a full size carousel lowers from the ceiling…among just a few of the incredible aspects of the show.

This show is mesmerizing and absolutely incredible.  Like nothing I’ve seen before.  The difference in Odysseo is for the first time a live show features 65 beautiful horses in a huge, picturesque theatre setting where they are free to perform and express themselves on stage.  The horses, along with their 50 human international co-stars from 11 countries that includes riders, acrobats, aerialists, dancers, singers and musicians, create something truly special and memorable.

If you enjoy Cirque Du Soleil, you’ll love this second production from Cavalia brought to us by one of the same creators.  Founded by Cirque du Soleil’s co-founder, Normand Latourelle, it’s a full $30 million, high-tech theatrical production that was inspired by the beauty, harmony, and trust that forms within the relationship of horse and man.   It takes the audience on an incredible journey through beautiful, unforgettable landscapes combining the equestrian arts and stage arts with high-tech theatrical effects under a very modern big white top tent.

Founder/creator, Normand Latourelle

For more and ticket information, go to: www.cavalia.com  It is only running from August 30th-October 22nd in Nashville just off Briley Parkway near Opryland Hotel, so get your tickets fast before all dates sell out.

Jon Langston and Walker McGuire Perform at BMI’s Rooftop on the Row

Country up and comers Jon Langston and Walker McGuire entertained guests of BMI at their 4th Annual ‘Rooftop on the Row’ concert series on Tuesday night (August 15). The country duo of Walker McGuire, composed of Jordan Walker and Johnny McGuire, kicked off the night with songs such as their Top 40 single, “‘Til Tomorrow”, and “What’s Her Name” – a self proclaimed true story about their time in Mexico.

Jon Langston followed the up and coming duo to close out the show and entertain guests during the sunset. Langston performed his hit “Forever Girl” as well as a medley of hits from artists such as Jon Pardi (“Dirt on My Boots”) and Tim McGraw (“Real Good Man”) before closing out the night with his current single, “Wrong Girl Right Time”.

Both performers are artists to watch out for in 2018. The night was sponsored by George Dickel, Cumulus Radio, Samuel Adams, and Texas Roadhouse and all sponsors were on hand to make sure guests had a great summer night on the BMI rooftop.
