Music City Food + Wine Festival 2016: Eat, Drink & Be Merry!

One of my favorite events that I anticipate all year is the Music City Food & Wine Festival.  Now in its 4th year, it took place on September 17th & 18th in the beautiful Bicentennial Park near downtown Nashville by the state capitol building.

Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate the first day of festivities with it raining most of the day, but that didn’t seem to dampen anyone’s spirits.  Foodies from all over Nashville still flocked to the festival for samples of some of the very best food, wine & spirits that Nashville has to offer.

I particularly enjoyed the spaghettata with national brand Barilla where I enjoyed a sit-down meal & Ruffino Wine with a few other guests of Barilla.  It was a dish of some particularly tasty spaghetti, of course, and a nice way to wind down the day Saturday afternoon!

Thanks so much to #Barilla for inviting me to enjoy the tasty spaghettata today! #MCFW @musiccityfw

Learned how to mix some tasty drinks in a session with Hendrick’s Gin during the day, too, at their tasting session.  Going to have to try more of those later!

Sampling the finished products in class, of course! 😉 #HendricksGin #MCFW @musiccityfw

Local tea shop Firepot Nomadic Teas offered some tasty concoctions with a sampling of their teas mixed with spirits.

Enjoyed the heathy snacks of nuts, fruit & spices that Sahale Snacks, crafted in Seattle, WA., served throughout both days.  Their products are all gluten-free, no artificial flavors or colors, and no preservatives.

Caught up with celebrity chef & owner of the exciting, new Chauhan Ale & Masala House, Maneet Chauhan:  “What I love about Music City Food + Wine Festival is the fact that you get to see the amazing culinary talent that is in Nashville together.  It gives me goosebumps just to go from one station to another, taste the food, meet the chefs, talk to them…absolutely exciting!”

The fun continued into the evening on Saturday with Harvest Night.  Always beautifully-decorated and held at Hall of Fame Park in downtown Nashville.  Guests were treated to more delicious food from famous chefs from around Nashville & other parts of the country along with a night filled with music.  It wouldn’t be music city without it! Kings of Leon, Charles Kelley, Hunter Hayes, and more entertained the crowd well into the night.

On Sunday, the weather finally cooperated.  No rain that day, so no more sloshing around in the mud and looking like a wet poodle! Just ready to enjoy some more of Music City’s finest! Martin’s Bar-B-Que was particularly tasty and much easier minus having to fight the rain to taste it this day.

Overall, the festival is very tastefully done with an incredible array of tasty food offerings that’s a don’t miss in the fall! I hope it continues for many years to come.  I’m ready to go back! Look for information here when tickets go on sale for next year!
