Album Review: Chris Young | “I’m Comin’ Over”

Chris Young Chris Young is easily one of the best male vocalists on country radio today with his rich, smooth baritone vocals.  With his newest studio release, I’M COMIN’ OVER, Young storms back onto country radio with a record 3 weeks holding the #1 spot for the sultry title track “I’m Comin’ Over” and the #1 country album on Billboard.

It’s hard not to love this album with the exceptional songwriting, strong production, and radio-friendly songs delivered by Young’s distinctively-smooth vocals.  Grab yourself a bottle of wine and cozy up with your loved one, and take in this distinctly romantic album filled with songs of love and some heartbreak.  Fans of traditional country and contemporary country alike will enjoy this release.

One of the highlights of the album for me was the duet with Cassadee Pope on “Think Of You”–their voices blending perfectly in this bittersweet, mid tempo tune about love that was lost and their lives after the breakup.  “Heartbeat”, another favorite of mine, is about the excitement one feels just seeing the one you love from across the room.  “Alone Tonight” is another standout on the album.  It could easily be another #1 hit along with countless others, including “Sunshine Overtime”, the carefree tune which just screams summertime anthem to me.  Another beautiful song is “Sober Saturday Night”–a heart-tugging ballad about love lost and working through the pain.  Really, I could go straight down the list of tracks and tell you what I love about each.

There is much to love about this album.  If you haven’t bought it yet, I highly-recommend it.  Chris Young never disappoints!

Rated 5 out of 5 stars.
