JCPenney’s Honors American Hero And Sponsors CMA Awards Red Carpet #JCPstyle

JCPenney CMA AwardsJCPenney’s was the official sponsor of the 2015 CMA Awards Red Carpet this year and generously honored an American hero that same night, too.

As a special treat to a lucky few participating with the CMA Awards this year, full hair and make-up was provided by JCPenney’s hair stylists and make-up artists from Sephora. Participants were first treated to the style suite, or as I like to call it the GLAM suite, where we were served special signature drinks and tasty hors d’vores.  Also, generously offering to “bling” us up by offering special accessories on display around the room donated by JCPenney’s.  JCPenney’s representatives made us all feel very welcome.  I have never felt so pampered and made to feel so special.  Thank you so much for this wonderful experience and for being so generous, JCPenney’s!

Also partaking in the style suite event just before the CMA Awards was SGT. Joseph James and his wife, Jarin.  SGT. James is a true American hero that JCPenney’s was honoring for his service that night. Both he and his wife were treated to the style suite.  Clothes for the Red Carpet provided by JCPenney’s.  They walked the Red Carpet that night with country artist Cole Swindell.

U.S. Army Sergeant First Class (E-7) Joseph James joined the military and began his basic training as a “Forward Observer” at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma on July 26, 2000. During his service, SFC James deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom once and Operation Iraqi Freedom three times.

During one of those Operations on April 8th, 2008, James was struck by two improvised explosive devices (IEDs), where the Sgt. lost both legs. During his necessary breaks from the prosthetics, James is restricted to use of his wheelchair, which makes employment and just getting around everyday life a challenge. The family currently resides in Hendersonville, TN, in the new mortgage-free home that JCPenney’s donated to them.

SFC James’ extensive list of awards include the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, the Meritorious Service Medal, four Army Commendation Medals, three Good Conduct Medals, the Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (numeral 2), two Overseas Service Ribbons, the Air Assault Badge, and the Combat Action Badge.

What a wonderfully-generous and special thing to do for this true hero that JCPenney’s did.
