CHARLIE DANIELS’ BIRTHDAY BASH GIVES BACK TO VETERANS

It may have been country music legend Charlie Daniels’ birthday party, but all of the presents were addressed to military veterans and their families. A total of 290 guests gave an invaluable gift to those who have served our country through the purchase of a table at Charlie Daniels’ birthday bash on October 27 at The Palm restaurant in downtown Nashville, which raised funds for (501)(c) non-profit The Journey Home Project.

Two groundbreaking vocal groups with drastically different styles joined a fabled studio session musician as the newest inductees into the Country Music Hall of Fame during a star-studded, emotional Medallion Ceremony on October 25, 2015. Considered country music’s most prestigious event, the ceremony is the official induction of new Hall of Fame members.

Musicians On Call (MOC) kicked off their four-city Rock The Room Tour last night with a truly special evening that raised over $130K for the organization, the largest amount raised by any event held in Nashville. MOC, a groundbreaking nonprofit organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities across the country, created their first national expansion to Nashville in 2007 making it the obvious first choice to kick off the tour and the sold-out event at City Winery last night did not disappoint.

CHARLIE DANIELS NASHVILLE BIRTHDAY BASH TO BENEFIT THE JOURNEY HOME PROJECT TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27 AT THE PALM RESTAURANT

It’s a birthday party invitation like no other – and tickets are still available to salute country star Charlie Daniels for his 79th birthday on Tuesday, October 27 at The Palm Restaurant on 5th Ave S. in downtown Nashville.

American heroes of the United States military, as well as country superstar Chris Young and rising artist Ryan Weaver, will join hands with the Nashville community to salute Daniels while benefiting The Journey Home Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization Daniels co-founded to assist veterans and their families in meeting their financial, educational and healthcare needs as they make their integration back into civilian life.
 
Daniels, known for hits like “Devil Went Down To Georgia,” “Southern Boy,” and many others, will be in attendance at the premiere event to meet and greet with guests and provide a one-of-a-kind experience.
 
A silent auction will also take place for guests to bid on valuable signed merchandise and rare memorabilia, which has been donated to raise supplementary funds for The Journey Home Project.
 
Country star Chris Young, who has celebrated recent top country hits like “Tomorrow,” “Voices” and “I’m Comin’ Over,” is slated to perform as part of the evening’s top-notch entertainment line-up alongside country newcomer Ryan Weaver. Weaver served in the military as Chief Warrant Officer 3 as a Blackhawk Helicopter Aviator and also serves as a national spokesperson for The Journey Home Project.
 
Later in the evening, honorary speaker Lieutenant General (Retired) Keith M. Huber will speak on behalf of veterans and Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). As revealed in a press release from Charlie Daniels and The Journey Home Project on Sept. 28, funds from The Journey Home Project will be donated to MTSU in order to assist in the completion of the school’s new Veterans and Military Families Center on campus.
 
Doors will open and the silent auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. CDT, followed by a signature surf-and-turf dinner fresh from The Palm’s kitchen. The official program and live auction will kick off at 8 p.m. CDT.
 
The event is produced by David Corlew & Associates. Sponsors include The Palm Restaurant, Wondergraphics, Military Systems Group, Horizon Wine & Spirits, Anglin-Reichmann Snellgrove & Armstrong P.C., Outback Concerts, Copperweld, Remington, Mid South Wire, Rea, APA and William Morris Endeavor. The premiere event will be hosted by celebrity emcee, Storme Warren, known for his roles at SiriusXM’s “The Highway” and Great American Country (GAC).
