LITTLE BIG TOWN’S KIMBERLY’S SIMPLY SOUTHERN TO AIR ON COOKING CHANNEL BEGINNING JULY 18TH

Little Big Town member, Kimberly Schlapman, and her award-winning cooking show Kimberly’s Simply Southern will be coming to Cooking Channel beginning July 18th airing Saturdays at 3:30pm ET/12:30pm PT. See below for a description of the series and upcoming episode guide.

 

Schlapman will appear on The Talk on CBS tomorrow, July 16th (2pm ET/1pm PT/CT), and will be featuring dishes from her cookbook and discussing her hit series.

 

Kimberly’s Simply Southern is a one-of-a-kind cooking show featuring country artist and founding member of the band Little Big Town, Kimberly Schlapman. Her passion for making simple, home cooked recipes with her family and country singing friends back home keeps Kimberly hunting for culinary treasures when on the road. In each episode, Kimberly hops off the tour bus to discover America’s best local foods, ingredients and people who share her love of tasty good vittles.

“Smokin’ Hot BBQ”

After Kimberly visits a Nashville pitmaster to learn the secrets behind smoking a perfect rack of ribs, she brings her newly learned chops back to the kitchen to cook up some ribs inspired by Tennessee tradition with special guest Kix Brooks.

“The Big Cheese”

Kimberly visits a little slice of Southern paradise tucked away in the hills of Tennessee where she learns the art of making sheep cheese before joining some friends for another Southern pastime, skeet shooting. She takes some cheese back to the kitchen to whip up a creamy dairy delight. Special Guests include Karen Fairchild, Jimi Westbrook and Phillip Sweet.

“Biscuit Lovin’”

Nothing says Southern comfort food like fluffy, warm biscuits, and Kimberly visits a Nashville biscuit chef whose food truck serves up decadent, delicious takes on a Southern staple. Back in her home kitchen, she whips up her version of the Southern classic, as well as other biscuit inspired recipes with Executive Chef Rusty Hamlin.

“Deep Sea Fishin’”

After Kimberly sets sail on the blue waters of Miami to land some of the freshest and most colorful fish around, she scoots back home to whip up a delicious and healthy fish feast with Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott.

“The Scoop (On Ice Cream)”

Kimberly visits an ice cream parlor in Louisville that’s loved by locals and celebrities alike where she samples the rich and delicious flavors and tackles their famous 15-scoop sundae. Back in the kitchen, she whips up some sweet treats of her own with country artist Brett Eldredge.

“Big Shrimpin’”

Deep in the Cajun country of Louisiana, Kimberly visits a couple who have been shrimping in the bayou for decades. After showing her the ropes of shrimping and chowing down on some fresh-from-the-pot gumbo, Kimberly heads back to Nashville where she stews up a traditional Louisiana dish inspired by the bayou with special guest Jewel.

“It’s Chicken Hot In Here!”

Kimberly visits a famous chicken restaurant to learn the secrets behind one of Nashville’s signature dishes, the spicy hot chicken, while also competing in a fiery eat-off. Afflicted with the fever, Kimberly heads back home to make a bird to set your taste buds ablaze with flavor with special guest Billy Currington.
