Multi-faceted entertainer Kix Brooks is set to appear on this weekend’s edition of CBS Evening News tonight (11/21) at 5:30P CST, as well as CBS News Sunday Morning on Nov. 23 at 8:00A CST. As part of their “On The Road” feature, award-winning correspondent Steve Hartman sits down with Brooks to discuss trends in Country Music as well as highlight his role as host of the internationally syndicated radio show American Country Countdown.
Additionally, the acclaimed artist and entrepreneur was just named the first recipient of the CMA Foundation Humanitarian Award, which will be presented in January 2015. The Award recognizes Brooks for serving as a humanitarian through leadership, financial support, personal volunteerism, and advocacy throughout the Country Music community over the years.

As one-half of country music’s most successful duo of all time, Kix Brooks continues his career as a solo touring/recording artist while simultaneously exploring new paths. Brooks, whom Rolling Stone calls “one of the most versatile guys in country music,” recently added lead acting credits and film producer to his already impressive resume that also includes three CMA National Broadcast Personality of The Year winner for American Country Countdown, hosting his Kickin It with Kix radio show five nights, co-owner of Nashville’s award-winning winery Arrington Vineyards and is a regular columnist for Country Weekly.
