BMI names Lauren Branson Director, Public Relations

Lauren BransonBroadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) today announced that Lauren Branson has been named Director, Public Relations. In this role, she will be responsible for creating and implementing the public relations strategies for many of the company’s wholly owned and sponsored songwriter-based events, including BMI’s Country and Christian Awards shows, BMI No. 1 Parties, Austin City Limits Festival, LouFest, SXSW and the Key West Songwriter’s Festival. Branson will report to Robbin Ahrold, BMI Senior Advisor, interim head of BMI’s Corporate Communications and Marketing department. She will also work closely with Jody Williams, BMI Vice President, Writer-Publisher Relations. Branson is based in BMI’s Nashville office.

“Lauren’s music industry background both in Nashville and New York and her experience with cutting-edge digital music technology gives her an invaluable perspective to position BMI and its affiliates for both the media and the music community,” said Ahrold.

 

“Lauren brings passion, instinct and drive to this position,” said Williams. “Her strong public relations background makes her an important asset to our organization. Lauren will help accentuate BMI’s many songwriter-based events in Nashville as well as company-wide.”

 

Prior to joining BMI, Branson was most recently the lead Publicist at Yep Roc Records where she contributed to the marketing strategy and oversaw the public relations campaigns, including national and tour press, for the label’s extensive roster of artists. Her prior posts include stints at Zenph Sound Innovations as Label Operations Manager, Epic Records as Publicist, and Sony Nashville as Publicity Coordinator.

 

Branson holds a B.A. in Mass Communications from Middle Tennessee State University.
