Song Review: Clare Dunn | “Get Out”

Clare DunnCountry newcomer Clare Dunn grew up driving John Deere tractors and eighteen-wheelers. Now she has the pedal to the medal as she breaks into the music industry with her debut single “Get Out.” It’s sitting at #17 on the Music Row Country Breakout Chart, #41 on Billboard Indicator and #43 on Aircheck Activator.

Dunn co-wrote “Get Out” with writer-producer Ben West and played all the guitar parts. Lyrically, it demonstrates that guys aren’t the only ones who like to blow off steam and throw down at the end of a long week. Her rich vocals merge with a mid-tempo beat to create a party anthem you’ll want to turn up as you cruise with the windows down. The farm girl’s roots shine through as she sings about leaving the stress behind, getting out of town and having a good time. Mix in these relatable lyrics to find yourself pumped for the weekend as you leave work on a Friday afternoon.

Dunn has already opened for Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Colt Ford, Parmalee, Hank Jr. and Jamey Johnson. Her voice can be heard in the background for Luke Bryan’s “Country Girl (Shake It For Me).” Additionally, she co-wrote “Farm Life,” a track recorded by Colt Ford and Justin Moore on Ford’s latest album, Thanks For Listening.

Keep an ear open for “Get Out” as it hits radios. I’ll definitely have it cranked up as I kick off the weekend!

5 out of 5 stars.
