Natalie Stovall and The Drive are among the dozen plus celebrities who have teamed up with Ohio-based Veterans Matter to generate awareness about the issue of homeless veterans and to help raise funds that will decrease the number of unhoused vets on our streets. The campaign is supported by media giant Cumulus Media which is airing Veterans Matter celebrity-voiced public service announcements in 110 U.S. markets May 1 – 31, 2014.

The thirty-second announcements, encouraging listeners to pledge support by texting “VETS” to 41444, are voiced by musicians Kid Rock, Kix Brooks, John Fogerty, John Mellencamp, Darius Rucker, Darryl Worley, Stevie Nicks, Dusty Hill, Emerson Drive, Jennifer Nettles, Natalie Stovall and The Drive as well as author Mitch Albom.

Veterans Matter, a national program of 1Matters, a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit with roots back to 1990, was started by founder Ken Leslie in 2012, after learning that the biggest obstacle facing some 60,000 homeless veterans eligible for housing assistance was the lack of a rental deposit, which is not covered by the HUD-VASH voucher assistance program.

To date, Veterans Matter has housed 235 veterans, and veteran families, in six states. Partnering with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Veteran Affairs (VA), Veterans Matter provides rental deposits for homeless veterans who qualify for voucher-assisted living but are unable fund the initial housing costs. With the outpouring of celebrity support and the backing of Cumulus Media, Veterans Matter has high hopes of being able to help house 1,000 more veterans in 2014. 100% of funds raised go toward the program.

Grammy Award winner and one half of platinum-selling country duo Sugarland Kristian Bush has reunited with longtime producer Byron Gallimore (Faith Hill, Tim McGraw) for his first-ever solo album. The highly anticipated album will be released on Streamsound Records, of which Gallimore is a co-owner.

“I’m so excited to be working with Byron Gallimore again,” shares Bush. “I’m constantly surprised at how creative I feel and how innovative he is every time we hit record.”

Bush and Gallimore previously teamed up for Sugarland’s top-selling studio albums; the 3X Platinum ENJOY THE RIDE, 2X Platinum LOVE ON THE INSIDE and Platinum-certified THE INCREDIBLE MACHINE, as well as their 2009 Christmas collection GOLD AND GREEN.

“After working on four records with Sugarland, I know Kristian’s musical abilities well. He is a great singer, songwriter, and all-around musician. I am thrilled to be working with him on this album and proud to have him as part of our Streamsound Records family,” shares Byron Gallimore. “The music he is getting ready to drop on country radio is some of the most exciting I’ve heard in years.”

Currently, Bush is on the road with his 2014 PUT YOUR SOUL IN IT Tour, backed by a five-piece band. In between shows, he is in the studio working on his forthcoming album. The lead single from the project will hit country radio nationwide this summer.

Bush has been leaving his mark on music for more than two decades. The singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist started his career with folk rock duo Billy Pilgrim in the early ’90s, releasing a much-lauded pair of albums for Atlantic Records (self-titled debut and BLOOM). In 2004, he exploded onto the country music scene with Sugarland, surpassing sales of over 22 million albums worldwide, achieving five No. 1 singles and winning numerous awards, including Grammys, AMAs, ACMs, CMT Music Awards and CMAs. To date, Bush garnered six BMI Awards for his songwriting, and in 2011 founded the music publishing company and songwriting collective Songs of the Architect. Recent producing/songwriting collaborations include Mike Elizondo, Rita Wilson, Dia Frampton, Ellis Paul, Laura Bell Bundy, Matt Nathanson, the dB’s, Martin Johnson of Boys Like Girls, Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale, and up-and-comers including Kristina Train, Larkin Poe, Natalie Stovall, Canaan Smith, Jaida Dreyer, Alana Springsteen, and The Voice contestant Savannah Berry.

Florida Georgia Line appeared on ABC’s The View yesterday (4/30) to bring awareness the national Outnumber Hunger campaign, which helps fight hunger in local communities across the country. Every 1 in 6 Americans struggles with hunger and this partnership between the Big Machine Label Group, General Mills and Feeding America has helped secure more than 25 million meals to date. General Mills gifted the audience with specially marked products to encourage participation in the program. The ACM Vocal Duo of the Year also performed their Gold-certified, Top 5 smash “This Is How We Roll” (featuring Luke Bryan), which has sold over 1 million digital downloads. Watch here. The live daytime show wrapped with an announcement that the superstar duo will perform on Billboard Music Awards, airing May 18 at 8:00P Eastern on ABC. FGL is nominated for four awards that evening – Top Country Artist, Top Country Song (“Cruise” Remix featuring Nelly), Top Country Album (HERE’S TO THE GOOD TIMES), Top Duo/Group.

FGL has skyrocketed since releasing four consecutive, multi-week #1 smashes from their chart-topping, PLATINUM-certified debut album HERE’S TO THE GOOD TIMES (Republic Nashville); the PLATINUM-certified hits “Stay,” “Get Your Shine On,” “Round Here” and 6X PLATINUM “Cruise,” making them the only artist in history to join Brooks & Dunn in achieving this accolade. Breaking the record for longest #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart, “Cruise” has sold over 6.9 million downloads and is the best-selling digital Country single of all time (SoundScan). Comprised of Tyler Hubbard (Monroe, Georgia) and Brian Kelley (Ormond Beach, Florida), FGL is currently on the road with Jason Aldean and will embark on their headline run – THIS IS HOW WE ROLL SUMMER SERIES 2014 – featuring special guests Nelly and Chris Lane later this month. This fall, they will host “This is How We Cruise” aboard the Norwegian Pearl. For tour dates and more, check out FloridaGeorgiaLine.com.

The Chevrolet Riverfront Stage will be the epicenter of Country and rock on the bank of the Cumberland River with a must-see lineup that includes international talent, Southern rock icons, and a Country artist with a royal pedigree.

The 2014 CMA Music Festival Kick-Off Concert features eight diverse acts including four international artists: Lindsay EllTim Hicks, andSmall Town Pistols from Canada, and Morgan Evans from Australia. Rounding out the lineup are honky-tonk traditionalists BrazilbillyShooter Jennings performing with Waymore’s Outlaws, his father Waylon Jennings’ touring and studio backing band, three time Grammy-nominated bluegrass ensemble The Grascals, and Southern rock legends The Marshall Tucker Band.

Kick-Off Concert performer Jennings will be making his CMA Music Festival debut, but will carry on a family legacy. His father Waylon performed at the first Fan Fair in 1972, and continued performing at the annual event throughout the 1990s.

The Marshall Tucker Band made their Festival debut in 2013 to a huge crowd at the Walk of Fame Park. Moving to the Chevrolet Riverfront Stage was a natural choice for the popular group.

“The Marshall Tucker Band’s performance at CMA Music Festival last year generated so much enthusiasm with Festival fans and became such a highlight of last year’s event that we are proud to announce that their legendary sound will be part of our 2014 CMA Music Festival Kick-Off Concert lineup,” said Trahern.

“During a year of real winners in Country Music we have been given another sweet invitation to kick off CMA week,” said The Marshall Tucker Band lead singer and founding member Doug Gray. “We are very proud to again be a part of the biggest festival in Country Music. We’ve recently been mentioned in some new hit songs from several young stars and we’re so grateful for all the love pouring in from Nashville. Our 2014 Take the Highway Tour is headed to CMA Music Festival this June!”

Gates at Riverfront Park will open at 10:00 AM/CT for fans to find the perfect spot to enjoy the day-long concert.
