Austin Webb To Release “Slip On By” to Country Radio August 5th

Austin Webb

Streamsound Records recording artist Austin Webb will release his new single, “Slip On By,” to Country radio August 5th.

The track is a sentimental ballad that stresses the value of time and not living in regret. This harmonious tune plucks on the heartstrings of growing older and emphasizes the importance of not letting time ‘slip on by.’

Written by Allen Dukes, Blake Neesmith, Nathan Tomberlin and Chris Stevens, the song is Webb’s second single from his upcoming 2013 full-length album release, produced by Byron Gallimore.  The Grammy-winning producer has worked with and produced No. 1 hits for acts including Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Sugarland.

“Cups/When I’m Gone” Reaches 34 Million Views, Celebrates 80th Anniversary

Hit Coincides With the Anniversary of Historic Bristol Sessions And The Carter Family’s First Recordings

Just in time for the August 1st anniversary of the Carter Family’s historic Bristol Sessions recordings, peermusic is celebrating the resurgence of one of A.P. Carter’s songs on the charts over 80 years after its original release. “When I’m Gone”  was written by A.P. Carter and originally recorded by the Carter Family in 1931. The lyrics of the song were recently reworked by Luisa Gerstein & Heloise Tunstall-Behrens into “Cups (When I’m Gone),” and re-recorded by actress Anna Kendrick, who has made the song a huge hit with her colorful version.

The video has already garnered more than 34 million views on YouTube, and the song has become a smash hit on pop radio since its release. The retro-tinged tune first became popular after Kendrick performed it in her audition scene in the movie “Pitch Perfect,” and has caught fire virally since on both Vevo and YouTube. The young actress’ rendition of the song has given new life to the tune, which was previously recorded by Lulu and The Lampshades.

Show Review: Ashton Shepherd @ Dave & Buster’s

Just had the pleasure of attending Ashton Shepherd’s acoustic show at Dave & Buster’s on Thursday, the weekly show sponsored by the Big 98 radio station in Nashville.  To be honest, I wasn’t really that familiar with Ashton’s music prior to attending the show.  I had heard of her, but that was about it.  However, after having the chance to talk with her and hearing her in-person, she MADE me a fan.  She is very personable and endearing.  Her performance was her singing and accompanying herself on guitar where she showed not only how skilled she is on guitar, but is a great singer and entertainer, as well.  She engaged the audience constantly by telling stories in-between the songs and really showed her personality to the packed, overflowing room.

Definitely someone that I would want to see perform live again!

Song Review: Joe Nichols “Sunny And 75”

Joe Nichols never disappoints and with this new single “Sunny And 75”, I’m sure there are plenty of new fans that he’ll make because of it.

“Sunny And 75” is an instant hit in my book. It’s upbeat, catchy, well-written, and with the undeniably strong voice of Nichols, fans are sure to love this one.  It has a sound that both traditional and contemporary country fans alike will enjoy.

Rated 4 out of 5 stars.
